pre-nerf undertaker doesn't count. Undertaker was busted and all the best cards just happened to be deathrattles. It wasn't so much "deathrattle hunter" as it was "best cards in the game hunter."

You guys obviously don’t have thousands of good boi points for hunter stored up. Playing hundreds of games of mill hunter over the years has built up my huntie points to levels on par with Harry Potter’s vault at gringotts. Everytime I need a good rng roll with hunter i trade in my hunties with Blizzard for a sticky hand on a string and then use it the make my plays. Works every time.

I've found if you roll the dice on 4 or 5 drops on the first pick it limits the options to a point where you seem to have a decent chance of getting one drop charge or 2 drop lifesteal rush on the second beast.

@@Selenkate It eliminates entire mana crystals worth of options for every extra mana crystal. If you take a 6 cost first you're guaranteed a 4 drop or less on the second pick... 7 first 3 or less and so on.

I think that last game highlights something about Death Stalker Rexxar. When the card came out in KotFT, we all knew it was going to be insane, but nobody gave it the time of day because Hunter didn't have a then viable deck to put it in. The amount of life steal and value that card gave that last game proves how bokners it is.
He was insanely lucky with his zombeast picks though. I've been in the same situation many times and been offered squat.
"Taunt? No, ok. Lifesteal? All out? Okay, cool... Rush? No? Uh, can I have a Charg- Nope, alright. How about an adap- Nah. Kodo to destroy that 2/10 taunt? No? Fuck..." - Every time I play Deathstalker.
To be fair deathstalker couldn't roll lifesteal or rush until witchwood which makes it an awful control tool since his hunter would have simply died in like 2 turns after playing it since he was never healing past 7 health.

If you take a high mana card first it dramatically lowers the pool of cards you get picks from.
@@mikecraig2996 I never considered this. I think most of the lifesteal cards are 5 and under so that means you should pick something 5 preferably. Though maybe an 8 gives you a better chance.

21:11 what a silly rexxar, he had lethal: make 2 5/5 out of the egg, then kill the egg and get another 5/5 (all with charge) + 4 dmage by the kodo = 19 dmage, he only needs 4 dmage extra to make it: use the hero power and get whatever beast that will get free charge thanks to kodo = lethal
I'm not surprised about the Festerroot Hulk; it performs so well in arena, it just needed some support to make the jump to constructed

Can someone explain to me how you would do anything else but cube wolfman right before the Hunter DK'd? I'm clueless as to why he chose to weapon and hit for 1 instead.
Edit: the more I go back and look at it, the more I get so frustrated. What could punish a cube play? Unleash, owl, mark? The odds of that happening are far fucking less than DK rexxar.

The Rexxar Death Knight is a bit silly.
Winning against that requires you to either play full aggro or full control.
Play 29 cards aggro and have full endgame in one card. Seems that hunter is preeeetty good

I may be missing something extremely simple, but towards the end of the first game, how is Reckless Flurry even still a concern once Trump loses his armor? He can't even armor up consistently anymore either.

But wouldn't Tinkmaster Overspark be the perfect card to run? It accomplishes so much in the matchup.
It only does something in the taunt druid match up which he was fine in anyway. The only reasonable cut would be owl so you dont run 3 silence on 3, but tinkmaster is hot garbage in most other match ups compared to owl ESPECIALLY DR Hunter where if you ever give them a 5/5 it is probably getting cubed and you are very sad.

How? All I ever play against are druids
So I'm not sure if you'll like this response, but I found the best way to get through that Rank 20-12 bracket that's littered with dozens of Odd Rogue and Heal Zoo is to play Odd Paladin. I find that I win about 80% of the time against them if I have a 1 drop on turn one or draw one Unidentifed Maul.

Just so you know, I'm running the Mech variant with War Gear and Bronze Gatekeeper, not the standard Odd list with Corridor Creeper and such. I find that if I go coin turn 4 Giggling into War Gear on Annoyotron I just snowball to win the game against aggro.
