the Japanese karakuri are usually made to store valuable items in the hidden compartments that's why the puzzles are on the easier side and it looks nice cuz people also use it as decoration

Say what you will, but this is a nicely finished and quite rewarding feeling mechanism. Usually we get the more softer type movements or the lever or pin types, but this one has that old school feel. Alluding to the old antique cabinets where moving a caryatid's nose or breast makes a bunch of snappy noises and fifteen different drawer pop open or poison gets released.
Cool stash box. I had a pair of BK's . They had little hidden stash pockets with flaps on the sides. The foot puzzle reminded me of them. _beautiful craftsmanship_
