Go All Out is bonkers with Ironheart on version 3. I think I had a turn where I had one of those, a Photon Beam, and some progress counters already on her and did like 20 damage
I'm only a minute into the video, but I have to go ahead and chime in. I love Ironheart, also. I did anticipate liking her more from the beginning, though. It's just something about tech characters that need to be built up. My favorite character is still probably War Machine, but I love Iron Man and Ironheart, also.
Finally got my Nova and Ironheart today in the mail, and I have to say, I was much more excited for Nova at first, but Ironheart is wayyyy more my preference. She was insane to play. I had both Photon Blaster and Repulsor Jets out right before I went up to v.2 and the value was insane. I was on Mutagen and I probably dealt 15 odd damage with blaster and removed similar threat with Jets. They were by far the most resource-efficient things I had done that game.
Played 2 games, already very much liking ironheart. Thematically it's wonderful to build her up, and it's great they give lots of opportunities to do it as part of her kit. I think she will struggle in expert solo with some of the villains who throw multiple threats at you right away, but from what I've played in standard it's a lot of fun, and I imagine she will work well in multiplayer where you can get other Heros to handle threats while you build up.
I've initially skipped over Ironheart in favor of getting Nova, mostly because we've seen a number of other "slow burn" heroes (like Iron Man, Black Panther and Groot) that want to take several turns to build up their kit. Nova appealed as a less common design of hero deck that has almost zero set up and just comes out of the gate swinging (and I've already enjoyed building decks and playing games with him). However, the more I've been looking at Ironheart's pack, the harder it gets to resist picking it up. She looks like she would be really rewarding to see reach her upper potential and, even if outside the hero herself, there are some really fantastically good cards in the pack (you know exactly what you're doing FFG...). So, I may end up buying Ironheart afterall. We shall see.
I realized a new nuance in the Canadian accent: REZOURCE. MFL from Whisperer in Darkness (Arkham LCG) also says it. I’m sore-y for talking aboot this but I love my LCG content creator Canadians.
Dylann, by a strict reading of the rules, I think Zzaxx's +1ATK effect only applies to cards in play and not in your hand. The rules read: "If a game step or card ability references a card that “you control” or a “player controls,” that game step or card ability only refers to cards in play currently under that player’s control." Notice that Zzaxx's scheme specifically mentions cards in hand and cards you control. So Zzaxx's +1ATK per energy resource would only apply to upgrades, supports and allies you have in play and not cards in your hand.
I wonder how she would do in ld with strength in numbers to tap brawn without damaging him, Go for a full speed draw build and get to that version 3 asap
Only got one game in with her so far, a 2p vs Hood, and absolutely loved her. I don't know how she'll fare in solo, but I had a lot of fun running her with Justice since she wants to be in AE a lot to start. And don't sneeze at her 3 DEF, that is huge if you do need to flip and stay in hero for a turn.
Ironheart mitigates losing key cards to bad shuffles in rush-to-ramp heroes. That alone makes her a really quality deck. The cost however is more counters. #justiceforthegreentokens It might just be me but the board state is becoming quite cluttered what with tokens, dice, poker chips and cat kibble. With the most recent packs it feels like there’s more emphasis on deck tuning and less on deck building. Still, Ironheart is a wonderful candidate for the meta of who can hit hardest on a single turn. All three steel heroes in a 3H game would be outstanding. Until Magneto sticks them all together, that is.
I think I'm missing something with IH. I've only played 2 games with IH and Nova and Nova seemed to do all of the work. Now I will say that in both games "Ingenuity" and both "new and improved" cards were at the bottom of the deck and in both games I was stuck choosing between an IH upgrade and an ally, which is fine except that out of the box the allies are too expensive for what they do so it was never really a choice. IH cards - her upgrades are all great. Brawn's great but expensive. Sector Scan was a dead card for me. I'd rather they gave her a second and affordable signature ally instead. Both of her 2 cost events are fantastic. Cloud 9 never saw the table, Patriot is good and so is Falcon, if you can get them out. R&D eh. Not sure why Agent 13 and the Helicarrier are just randomly in there. Go all out and push ahead are also fantastic though. I'm not sure IH fits leadership out of the box. I will say that I don't play leadership that often though. Her included allies cost way too much. She can take some hits, which is great so you don't have to chump block, but you either can't afford the allies or are having to choose between something you need vs an ally with mediocre stats. I'm going to try switching out some cards (like R&D, Cloud, etc), for some cheap allies where she can actually get them out.
I've preferred playing her to Iron Man but then I really dislike Iron Man. I like Brawn, feels good to have an ally with 3 attack. I'm not sure why you're keeping him around, once he's got 2 damage it's hard to get his resource without some leadership trickery.
Hmm i was wondering about Ingenuity, i can put it into play when Riri is in alter ego mode but can i exhaust it when im in hero mode? Or i have to be in alter ego to exhaust it too.
Yes, correct. May have misspoken but that is how I played him. Makes cards that add hit points or find other ways to exhaust cards extra useful with Brawn if you want those resources.
How are you enjoying Ironheart? What are some of your stand-out cards?
After 11 games including beating venom goblin in one try, I think ironheart is going to be an s-tier hero.
Ooo, that's exciting to hear!
Omg, I'm going to LOVE Ironheart so much! She seems so fun! I enjoy that this is different from Iron man but still thematic!
Yeah there's so much that feels like Iron Man, just a different take. TONS of fun.

It's such a wild card with Ironheart! The power level potential on it is so high.
This is an interesting hero. Wasn't sure what to expect
12:50 Sector Scan never costs 3 right? on v.1 it costs 2 or am I missing something.
Cautiously optimistic I'll enjoy her. Mine should arrive tomorrow
Nice, have fun with the pack!

I was using the first ability on New and Improved to get the other copy of New and Improved, guarantees 2 very strong turns in a row

Ingenuity is going to be such an awesome addition to Iron Man!
I really like both Iron heart and Nova. I enjoy the "mini-game" of building up her suit. And yes, Go All Out is a great leadership card with her.

Dang these releases snuck up on me. I’m excited to try them out once I get my hands on them!

ReZources 🔥
Oh my gosh, it never dawned on me that Stroke of Genius gets her 2 progress counters in AE. It was already a strong card!

That 3 DEF is a life saver when you're building her up.
Yeah absolutely. Her 3 DEF is a huge benefit.

Yeah it would have to be with Leadership trickery where you're exhausting allies for other reasons to avoid consequential damages.
@@AllYouCanBoard Also good Vs Sandman City Streets I've found.
@@jonathanpickles2946 ooo that’s a great call!
Where is the queens garden review? I see it in the background.
You can expect some content on Queen's Garden in June or July for sure!
Hmm i was wondering about Ingenuity, i can put it into play when Riri is in alter ego mode but can i exhaust it when im in hero mode? Or i have to be in alter ego to exhaust it too.
You just have to be a Genius to play it. After that you’re free to use it any time!
@@GetUpandGame like you said in the video having this card early is such a game changer. Ironheart is becoming one of my favorite hero to play
Your identity is defined as both sides of the hero card. I don’t think you need to be in Alter-Ego to play it. You just need to have the Genius trait.
So is everyone else a better Iron Man than Iron Man.
Haha not in my opinion, no!
7:50 Brawn does not give you permanent mind resource, you have to exhaust him to get the benefit.
Yes, correct. May have misspoken but that is how I played him. Makes cards that add hit points or find other ways to exhaust cards extra useful with Brawn if you want those resources.
@@AllYouCanBoard I was thinking about Leadership deck, when you exhaust your allies to do things for you (e.g. Strenght in Numbers)
