- Featuring the bells of Chewton Mendip, Ditcheat & Butleigh.
These rings are without doubt the best in Somerset:
Chewton Mendip - 1913 Taylors; Ditcheat - 1920 Taylors; and; Butleigh (Somerset's best kept secret) - a mixture of Taylors + others. No visit to the Westcountry is complete without a visit to these towers. Check them out!
Ringers:
Scott Adams, Colin Avery, Ian Avery, Kate Carew, William Carew, Suzanne Driscoll, Ian Fielding, Elaine Grant, James Grant, Stephen Herniman, Mark Lovell, Sam Massey, Luke Mitchell, Jenny Sparling, Matthew Thewsey & Victoria Tucker.
Rang quarter Peal here awhile ago - Spliced Bristol SM and Double Norwich. Awesome music!
I agree. These are some of the best bells I have heard. The first tower sounds so mellow and warm!!
Bleddy wonderful, such a joy to listen to, thanks for posting
With chicane's saltwater at the beginning and the landscape I get goosebumps all over.
All great bells but from this video I love Chewton Mendip, and how hypnotic was the Devon call changes.
Whilst I'm a method ringer I do find Devon ringing refreshingly different and it is done so well.
I love the rais8ng and lowering in peal.
For some reason method ringers end lowering with calling 3, miss one and catch.
You're guys are doing great!
Nice Tune Music From The Church
Do a Southampton Ringing Mashup. Some great towers there
Great ringing as usual, I do love Butleigh, a real hidden gem! Shame there is so much rope/wood noise at Ditcheat, Chewton speak for themselves
All the towers were in Eb
Gosh Chewton Mendip beautiful peal I prefer the Chewton Mendip bells than Ditcheat because Ditcheat are quiet inside
