(there're also indications that it was curtis who built the machine that Lillian is trapped in, then it's possible to see his mother's corpse smiling.. of relief perhaps)* *in the dr.fitch office there's an underground passage that leads to SH, this otherworld passage's the mix of a hospital and the institution that alex's in at the beginning of the game. some hallways're the same as the protagonist walks in the prologue. It's also more apparent that Alex's exploring the characters' minds and their memories\secrets..* *this game starts in the late afternoon and culminates in a red dawn, it's notable that there's a change of climate similar to the original games. it was the first time anyone came out during the otherworld outdoors, alex was the only protagonist who saw the parallel world from the outside.* *There're Alex's toys locked in the attic of the house (also in the audio of the tape, Alex's father tells him to "go down the stairs") implying that Alex was locked in the attic and forced to sleep alone there (a dark place full of spider webs and venomous animals) in the infernal version, there're 4 monsters that represent each member of the family (in the attic there're 3 schism which're the dead Josh, the catatonic mother and Alex crouched in the corner of the attic) and in the lower part of the house there're the more aggressive schism who is alex's father. Such an underrated and unfairly treated SH game. It’s pretty good. The graphics and atmosphere have aged pretty well for a 2008 game too. The controls are its real weakness, not sure how easy that would be to fix in a possible remaster (which seems unlikely lol)
The monster designs were really good in this one, its a shame downpour didnt have such quality. But the game felt like it was set as a standalone sequel to the movie world rather than of the game world.

And i really love the franchise. i think Homecoming was ment to be a fresh new start for the series. I mean, Travis cameo and goodbye to could be seen as a passing the torch to the next generation. since Origins was a close up for the Alessa Saga, even though it was the Origin story. lol
1:36:56 I played this game with my sister in law years ago. She said the woman singing sounded just like my singing 😂 I still remember it well even though it was probably almost 15 years ago
I think trying to hard to replicate specific things is what hurt this game the most. The opening sequence is basically shot for shot the hospital gurney scene from Jacob's Ladder. They also try to replicate the ps1's dithering effect with the film grain as a substitute and it just doesn't look good. Film grain never looks good. Then there's the otherworld transition sequences ripped straight from the movie two years prior. While cool, we've all come to know SH as the characters personal journey through a hell of their/someone else's mind and this is how the film portrays Alessas nightmare, not Alex's. I don't even need to mention the bizarre inclusion of PH in this game. He serves no purpose and is there strictly for fan service. Overall it's not a bad game, but it's not great, either. It exists and that's just how it's gotta be.
I think this is a better game than it's reputation would suggest, but I wouldn't dispute your criticisms. I'm hearing Konami insisted that PH and other movie references be included. Wouldn't surprise me if true. Following in the footsteps of Team Silent must have been a daunting task for the devs. The fanbase is wound so tight. They can be so irrational. Increased scrutiny was unavoidable. Homecoming is a mid tier game, that had it's blemishes enlarged underneath the microscope. It gets dragged harder than it deserves. Even the classics have problems. But they get minimized, or ignored entirely. Homecoming and Downpour would never receive that benefit.
My favorite Silent Hill Homecoming Moment is the Cameo Appearance of Travis Grady and then my favorite is When James Wheeler mentioned Brahms and also mentioned Cybil Bennett from Silent Hill game
People say it doesn't make sense that Alex is wearing his military uniform even though he really isn't in the military, what if it symbolizes how he feels like he could be a hero saving his brother, when he was there when his brother died from falling off of the boat.
For as much hate as Homecoming gets, I love it. It's such a silly game, it feels like a parody of Silent hill at points, But the boss design is genuinely good. All and all, If we do get more Silent Hill remakes after SH2R I hope Homecoming gets one.
I find it extremely underrated disregarding the style over substance approach. Same with Origin. Downpour and The Room are WAY worse. Also, the monster designs are good, doesn't matter if they don't have meaning.

duude Id really like to see a remake of th sh4. Id like to watch that peephole to Eileeens flat and also what are the neighbors across the yard up to in that new detailed Bloober Team graphics. for me personally somehow the 4th one was always the best.
My first silent hill game I ever played and I love it. Its really amazing. The music, the disturbing story, dialogue, bosses, etc. The only thing I hate is the save systems are far and few between and trouble finding health and Alex's fighting is a bit slow.
I love Silent Hill, and gone through most of the games except for this one, which I started but never got to finish it due to my lack of time. It’s gonna take me some time to watch this through, but dropping my like in advance bro! 😎👍
Nice game...has got a special atmosphere and some creepy creatures...also the characters in that game are very strange...I've played it very often on xbox 360.
My fave Silent Hill. It does have its cliches, but the developers had some great ideas, and they worked very hard at creating an entirely new town and set of people with an established history. If there was ever a remake, just make it from the kids perspective and see the downfall of the town. That would be pretty cool. Alex and the remaining families would be the last generation for this cult, bc they rely directly on a bloodline, unlike the other branches where it seems anyone could enter.
My idea of a remake, have Alex be an actual soldier who comes back from service. The backstory almost the same... he's estranged from his father and is unaware being a sacrificial lamb in favor for his little brother Joshua. But Alex leaves to enlist in the army, and ruins the plans for the sacrifice and the parents are pressured to do Joshua instead and something goes wrong which causes supernatural chaos in the town of Shepherd's Glen by the time Alex returns from service. His military service PTSD will service as some handicap as he fights thru and tries to survive & resolve the chaos.
@@mr.sinjin-smyth I think a remake for Homecoming could go in any direction. Since the game establishes Alex as being a soldier I read a lot of posts about how cool it would be to prod further into it storywise, even if the end of the game made it moot. If you want to be canonical we could follow Alex's dad who did serve in the war. But I think a good way to enter it is by going with the In Water ending, where SPOILERS Alex is sacrificed and drowned in the bathtub by his own father, and Joshua continues on the family line. Its the most intriguing ending. And this changes the entire game into just a fantasy of either Alex or Josh, I prefer if it was Josh who (like Cheryl in Shattered Memories with her dad) fantasizes about the perfect brother who would have protected him, who's life would have been far greater if he had lived, and he held resentment towards the cult yet goes along with their traditions and customs. And I imagined "what if Alex was alive to see this, how would he feel?". And I imagine rather than a rebirth of God bringing about paradise like in Silent Hill 3, there are sinister plans to bring about a resurrection to bring to life those who are dead. In the process we can see the question posed come into light, yet this will be a bit more like Pet Sematary than a true resurrection, maybe the ritual is another lie like the Ascension of the Holy Mother. But thats just an idea. A GAME IDEA.
1:36:56 At one point, I had Alex stand by the door and I made a long audio recording of the woman humming her lullaby. Converted it into a ringtone and it would terrorize everyone around me who heard it. 😈
I've always been a big fan of this game, my favorite Silent Hill when it comes to gameplay mechanics. The image translates incredibly well to a CRT. Try it sometime if you get the chance.
I couldn't really enjoy this game cause i was fighting with the controls, still cant believe they left out an invert option, the only Silent Hill not to have inverted controls. But putting that aside it was a pretty cool game.
The lady humming in the hotel was too much for me. The hotel is the most terrifying part to me. But great game. Got far but the asphax boss or whatever is very hard.
I actually liked this game. I think the main issue was it tried to be too much like Silent Hill 2, and the combat was wonky as hell. The story was actually pretty solid. Better execution would've made this a classic. R.I.P Silent Hill series.
Well, Homecoming was my first step into the series. and i played all of the main games. I rather believe it is more like SH1. Okay, James and Alex share the same guilt. But SH1 and Homecoming having both protagonist who searching for the youngest family member and having a cult as the main bad guys.
Will there be a noobs guide for silent hill homecoming? I know know its not a great game but its better than whatever konami has planned for Silent Hill right now
So the real ending is that Alex revived his brother with the Polaroid photos, that explained the cover that both are going to the parents funeral. This also fit with the inspiration of the game, Supernatural TV show, in this series, Dean the older brother needs to protect the younger brother, who has a sort of demon blood inside, that's the same concept of Homecoming, Alex now needs to protect his brother, that return from grave, and he is different, kind of The Omen now, Damian vibes. Double Helix really missed that last cinematic of both in the graveyard. So I guess Alex finally is gonna join the army this time, or get his car licence, and start hunt demons like Dean Winchester, LOL. While Elle will stay with Josh, now in th Shepherds house. Guess Josh will deliver some powers, that we gonna see in a sequel, maybe years later, when Josh will have 20, and Alex will have 33. I like to ask if you know how to run this game in PS3 emulator, since I can't get any information about that.
Sam doesn't "have demon blond inside". Sam becomes addicted to demon blond in a later season. Sam has psychic powers, which is only shows in the first two seasons and than forgotten.
@@CordeliaWagner1999 So yeah, that's the contradictory concept about Sam, in a sort way he had the same situation of Scarlet witch with Chthon. I like the idea of Dean and Alex similar situation, but the whole ending is a mess, and they even forgot to add the most creepy part of the game, the asylum. I actually prefer the asylum as the final stage, than the liar of Halloway, they actually can combine the two, and will be a so much better game.
This game is the weakest of the core six entries (Silent Hill, 2, 3, 4: The Room, Homecoming and Downpour)... And yet it's still a solid game. It's just that it has the misfortune of being a Silent Hill game not developed by Team Silent, which thus flies in the face of the original concept of the series (Western horror by Japanese devs) and dooms it to comparison with those other, superior titles.
I would love to see Videos without subtitles. Yes, it's important for special needs people but I would prefer if teo Versionsnummer existed, one for special needs and one for no-special-needs
What was your favourite part of SIlent Hill: Homecoming?
The Hotel and the Prison
The Scarlet boss fight. Everything else was a let down.
Not playing it
Boss designs and quality of acting. Starting premise and setting too, I guess.
The Hotel and The Prison!!

4:12:26 This is why Wheeler is my favorite 😆
1:36:56 At one point, I had Alex stand by the door and I made a long audio recording of the woman humming her lullaby. Converted it into a ringtone and it would terrorize everyone around me who heard it. 😈
So the time came. And we established a good class network with silenthill
These graphics look significantly better than the ol' ps3 ones I remember 👀🤔 did you do something different dude??
Probably on PC, I’d assume.
Xbox Series X back comp
@@poltergeist7621 NO SHOT. I play this game on my Series X on an LG C1 OLED and my game doesn't look even remotely close to this.
Adjust brightness. 2010 and backwards Xbox 360 games looks way dark on BC @@ArashiKageTaro
@@ArashiKageTaro you can buy this game on the xbox/microsoft store??(im a playstation player😔)
This game is so oddly short 😂
I've always been a big fan of this game, my favorite Silent Hill when it comes to gameplay mechanics. The image translates incredibly well to a CRT. Try it sometime if you get the chance.
I couldn't really enjoy this game cause i was fighting with the controls, still cant believe they left out an invert option, the only Silent Hill not to have inverted controls. But putting that aside it was a pretty cool game.
I remember this game use to scare the shit out of me as a kid never was able to get past the part when your in the house basement 😂
Bro that scared me lol 😂
The lady humming in the hotel was too much for me. The hotel is the most terrifying part to me. But great game. Got far but the asphax boss or whatever is very hard.
Silent Hill: Homecoming Silent Hill: Homecoming
I actually liked this game. I think the main issue was it tried to be too much like Silent Hill 2, and the combat was wonky as hell.
The story was actually pretty solid. Better execution would've made this a classic.
R.I.P Silent Hill series.
Well, Homecoming was my first step into the series. and i played all of the main games.
I rather believe it is more like SH1. Okay, James and Alex share the same guilt.
But SH1 and Homecoming having both protagonist who searching for the youngest family member and having a cult as the main bad guys.
I'm over here thinking my TV brightness went down and shit
Not counting the game as a whole. This looks just like something Team Silent would make if they were still around
I loved this game, too bad there weren't trophies for this game for the PlayStation
The puzzle part is driving me nuts I watched this and I still can't do it 😭
might be cause of the bug. loads of them in this game. I remember having to completely restart the game because it wouldn't let me complete a puzzle.
Not too shabby
Oh man, I gotta dust off the old 360 and give this game a whirl for old times' sake.
Did my dude pick up the rifle?? I was skipping around a bit, but I never saw him get it or use the weapon 😮
Oh its! Just you!! 😅
Best game evr!
Some of them are gorgeous
Will there be a noobs guide for silent hill homecoming? I know know its not a great game but its better than whatever konami has planned for Silent Hill right now
I like Homecoming, but it's not better than the Silent Hill 2 remake.
sem legendas para portugues fica dificil. é só ativar np youtube as legendas automaticas. grata.
What is this running on? Xenia emulator or xbox one x?
estar a jogar no series?
What is this running on?
jacob's ladder movie
I hate that starting from here the saga started basing the franchise on the movies.
I never had watched this Silent Hill before
Mine was getting the order soldiers
The boss designs are very good. Super disturbing
I actually prefer the asylum as the final stage, than the liar of Halloway, they actually can combine the two, and will be a so much better game.
can you go first person in this game
No but in Siren BloodCurse you can
Perfecto
The room
why you write in the title "4K/60fps" if the video is not 4k?
It will be after the stream ends
The video premieres at 1080p (just RUclips restrictions)… but once the premiere is over, 4K will be available.

Why my ending different?
theirs like 5 endings
This game is the weakest of the core six entries (Silent Hill, 2, 3, 4: The Room, Homecoming and Downpour)... And yet it's still a solid game. It's just that it has the misfortune of being a Silent Hill game not developed by Team Silent, which thus flies in the face of the original concept of the series (Western horror by Japanese devs) and dooms it to comparison with those other, superior titles.
Silent Hill, 2, 3,Homecoming ,4: The Room
man this game had a lot of bugs in it
Yeah, but they were easy to deal with. Just stomp on them.
I would love to see Videos without subtitles.
Yes, it's important for special needs people but I would prefer if teo Versionsnummer existed, one for special needs and one for no-special-needs
