Always nice to see, that Johnny´s songs are still heard, but I don´t think, you should give the song a special meaning, whom Johnny "called". Defenitely not Jesus, because he was jewish and btw not religious. But everybody can and should choose for himself, who the listener wants to call ;) But I don´t think you should change the lyrics...also where you wrote "SON" actually Johnny sings "sun" .
i applaud you for keeping his memory alive. But this is not the way to do it. Knowing Johnny personally over the years, he would say "don't worry about it, they just in the dark but will rise when the light is shining straaitt in their eyes". He is no longer here to speak his truth, so I ask you not to twist his legacy towards your own mission. He loved all religions and was open to all opinions, because otherwise by choosing a side, whether it be race, wealth, religion or other any other petty reasoning would see us even more divided.
Johnny Clegg, one of my favorite artist. Too bad he passed away. Luckily we can sing his interesting songs.🌷
