This is my go-to defense against queen pawn openings. Lots of good material in this post. Like the sample game approach.

As someone who has finally given up 30 years of London and Zukertort for sound mainline openings, (less than a month ago) this type of video is gold. You do an excellent job of explaining the structures and features. I can't get enough of your Nimzo and Sicilian videos.
    Thanks again.

I really appreciate how you review the line very quickly at the end, and help cement it into my brain. Great channel!

I think this puts into perspective the importance of positional play. Material is equal, but the position is -5. Wow. Just wow.

thanks again for your content. Yeah I agree on the length, Keep It Short and Simple. Also you tend to go over these generic moves that everybody plays because they're natural, which is really enjoy. Like Bg5 is just something a lot of players face ALL the time

i really enjoy your videos where you show common moves amateurs face instead of just showing the mainlines, thanks! 8:30 for what it's worth, i remember the hubner also features Bxc3 without being provoked by a3. the idea that white's knight is blocking the f pawn (unlike saemisch where knight is on e2)

It's so sad. Many big youtubers like GMHikaru, Gothamchess etc. teach beginners that setup based openings like the london, english, KID are REALLY good for beginners. People really seem to buy into that. It bugs me so much. "Play the london every game, it's really good, you don't have to think about what your opponent is doing and you don't have to learn theory, it's great!".

Love the Video! Just wondering if you heard about the cheating scandal with Tigran Petrosian?

Thanks and yes. No more controversial topics from me though, people wanted to see me hang for the bong cloud.....

@@ChessCoachAndras Oh wow that's nonsense but I totally understand not wanting to touch those topics. I personally thought you were wrong but it's so silly that people can hold such a strong opinion about such a small part of the game and not respect that people can rightfully disagree with it (especially if that someone has quite literally dedicated a large part of their life to that game). Like I'm certainly entitled to my opinions as a 1400 chess.com player but to think that my opinion matters more than an IM is uhhh interesting...........

Really enjoy the balance between serious emphasis and comedic value you put in your analysis when teaching making learning much easier and the concepts easier to remember. Your didactic skills are imo unparelled in terms of coaching. On this note also I would like to ask whether there is an easy way to determine which pawn push is better, or which one to play first, d5 or c5? TIA :)

Glad you enjoy it! as for the last question, it does vary from position to position.
