Was literally talking about all of this with my clan yesterday! Such an insulting promo and theme. And I can't ignore it because it has something I actually really want.
In my opinion TH is not so bad. If you wanna get XP through TH, that dosent really impact other players. It just shortenes the grind. If you wanna make money, thenyou actually influence the market and the other player. BUT the same is the case if you real world trade and just straight up buy gp. I rather have people spending money on TH then hard rsgp from third party sites.
The thing with treasure hunter is, even if you're doing it for xp, the promotions still sometimes give you other items that have an impact on the economy. Another thing to realize is when you're buying gp from third party sites, it's not like they are generating the gold out of thin air, the money is already in game. On the other hand, treasure hunter is continuously bringing items into the game at an exponential rate. Now, I don't dislike treasure hunter completely because I agree that it makes the game more fun in some way, but thought I would point out these key components.
honestly how tf is it op you still have to go do the boss for all the hours the resets give you only benifits high level pvmers hardly op all it does is remove some of the timelock we get when pvming how is that not a QOL update????
Well you have to look at this situation from a different perspective. I would agree this promo does seem like a QOL event for frequent pvmers like myself, however, it incentivizes people that normally don't pvm as much to get into it. Now, this is a good thing to have players more engaged in the game, but I also see this as more alchables and direct money coming into the economy which is the biggest issue currently circulating the game. They should have done what they needed to do with the max cash stack rework, death cost, and ge tax before introducing a promo such as this one.
@@RsSavage I agree however then you should have been a lot more conserned about the free death weeks as that is what makes new players pvm. I dont think because a new player got a aura refresh that will make them go try a new boss or harder boss more likly just farm the boss they are doing at the time. If we are being real the common drops for the first 2 weeks of zammy did a lot more damage than any aura refreshes would ever do. I do agree though they should be pushing the new ECO update asap. Dont get me wrong i love the videos just had to share my opinion on this and meant no dissrespect to you. :)
You’re right, I would agree that free deaths would have a bigger impact on the economy, but I was just saying how the promo is another thing added to the mix to make the situation slightly worse. I really appreciate the mature conversation, and thank you for the support! No hard feelings either, I truly wanted to be opened to new viewpoints and hear what everyone had to say about the situation ❤️😃
They aren't forcing anyone to buy keys. Don't like it don't do it! If someone wants to drop money for keys for THEIR account it doesn't effect your account at all! They chose not to grind while you choose to grind!
Bro it is messing up the economy i honestly think if it weren't for bot farms we wouldn't be able to buy alot of bulks items in the game, items that others used to grind to get money..
I think adding more rewards that you can purchase with marks of war isn't a bad idea, however, right now there are bigger issue that still need to be fixed.
Slightly different take: I’m no more offend by this promo than any other one. It helps to address two issues which are 1. The cap on marks of war and 2. A very temporary bandaid for death costs. The game lost all integrity when it started selling xp through SOF and this is just the next promo to continue the legacy. My only issue with this one is, similar to the green Santa promo, it’s incredibly predatory with the leveling up system and the ultra rare drop (I did 1200 keys this promo and didn’t get d breath). Also, I think something like a cosmetic override for an ability is how mtx should work in this game: lamps are pay to win a cosmetic isn’t
I feel that sellable cosmetics are pay to win because you can get a massive amount of gear equipment for 500m, letting you ultimately make even more money
@@LysdexicGamer that’s fair. And realistically people shouldn’t be paying that much for it in light of the fact that jagex has told us in the past that there is potential to re-release these types of items (assassins walk, etc). But yeah if it was unreadable it would solve that problem. Also, like I said, I didn’t get one in 1200 keys. I did two 450s a 200 and two 60s from oddments. If I had spent that money on bonds and sold I would make more than 500m…
I like the idea of utilizing exclusive UNTRADEABLE cosmetics in treasure hunter to provide Jagex the income they need to keep their business running. However, with the route they took with this promo, it may solve some problems like you mentioned with marks of war being capped by how many you can earn in an hour, but inflation is currently one of the most serious issues the game is currently facing and this promo did nothing to solve it and arguably made matters worse. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about providing incentives to make people more motivated to PVM, but maybe do this after the GE tax is implemented because theoretically there should be an increase to alchables entering the game with this promo (adding more direct money into the game), not to mention free death week that also just went on for 2 weeks. All in all, love the idea to make PVM more enjoyable for players, but the order of execution doesn’t seem to be healthy for the game in the long run.
I do love being able to cash in oddments for aura refreshes.. it helps during end game quite a bit
If only treasure hunter keys still had that 50% off sale in the oddment store 😄
Yesss hopefully they bring that back
Was literally talking about all of this with my clan yesterday! Such an insulting promo and theme. And I can't ignore it because it has something I actually really want.
Exactly, you can’t ignore the promos because they provide a significant advantage to other players.
I love treasure Hunter tbh
It’s really nice to speed up account progression and improve quality of life so that’s understandable.

@@RsSavage sorry, could I ask what is gp?
GP is just money in game, it stands for gold points.

I don't mind how people get their experience, but I'm concerned about potential effects on the economy which does effect me.

If your going to spend 20 bucks on bonds to get keys you might as well spend the 20 on keys instead of bonds
Very good point! Thanks for mentioning!
Soon you can buy maxed account with 100 bonds.
😄
Make marks of war better!
More rewards be handy now u get refreshes from the th

You can never have enough aura refreshes 😄
bit of a strange TH promo tbh
Jagex just keeps pushing the limit
