One thing I love about this podcast is the guest yall bring on.. like who would’ve thought of having a wedding planner on the show. It’s alway fun and entertaining seeing people in different fields come on and talk.
My brothers wedding was less than 2k. We live in rural NC, had the wedding in the yard. Our family throws events for each other so we had the catering supplies and made it a potluck. Already have chairs & tables we use for our events. Borrowed the tablecloths, chair covers, and chair ribbons from someone else who had an event. My moms a seamstress so she made the bridesmaids and brides dress. My uncle is a pastor so he does weddings. The only person hired was the DJ. Of course it took away from some of our ability to enjoy the ceremony because we had been working all day, but I was so impressed by our work, they were able to save thousands, and marry in a sentimental place. The same land my great grandfather owned (im black) and my mom & her siblings have married.
I was able to find a wedding package that was all inclusive. So we didn’t have to find a venue or find food it was all included. It was so nice and about $5k …this was about 8 years ago and we STILL together 😂😂😂
I decided a long time ago that I wasn’t having a big wedding. My parents have a total of 19 siblings and their kids have kids so the intermediate family alone would be a good 250-300 guests . They’re petty and shady. I’ll be damned if I invite all of them and put blood, sweat and tears for them to be talking shit. 😂 I’m also an introvert so the thought of having even 75 guests is a lot. This episode was eye opening.
Yea, when I get married, I'd prefer to elope, have a dope honeymoon, and buy our house FIRST. I'd consider a destination wedding if it was affordable (less than $10k). We can have the dog and pony show when we renew our vows at 5 or 10 years. Hopefully, future hubby is on board, lol
Look at around! 😊It’s doable. Ours destination was a little over $13k (mom bought my dress) but we ended up getting about $3k back due to the amount of guests we had booked 3+ nights
I know people always come in the comments to complain so I’m going to give y’all some praise. I can tell you guys have worked on pausing and let a guest finish their thought while still making it conversational. ❤
Half of the African wedding I went to growing up had a party flyer like you going to views on a Thursday. But I think it works bc all the family friends can come to the traditional, family will cook and bring gifts. Then you get generations do the white wedding for the ppl they actually care about
56:53 I would like the ppl who went to the ceremony to be able to sit first before anyone else. Some ppl be at the reception waiting to eat and drink and didn't even come to the ceremony. I've been to a wedding where they did that with tickets.
@@whittsays hmm i'll check and see what's going on. Normally it only does that if you've ordered several times and utilized the code each time. I'll give you an update as soon as I get one - Thank you for supporting us though!!!
Can somebody back me up with this comment? Lol I love y’all ❤ been listening forevs but Can y’all PLEASE start reading more advice letters and sharing more cocktales??? Like damn they be so skeet nowadays. It doesn’t even have to be y’all’s personal cocktales but that’s like one of the best parts of the show and y’all be so ready to read one and just wrap it up. It’s almost like y’all wana skip it altogether sometimes. Is it just me?
We don't wanna skip it but sometimes it's a matter of time since we're in a studio. We've done a few episodes in the past that are all cocktales or all advice. Hope you send some in because it also depends on how many emails we have when we go to record.
I don’t always agree with M but I’m curious as to where the whole salmon eating peoples brains is coming from. Like was this on 20/20 Or some reputable news outlet ore article that covered this because I like salmon and I don’t want those problems. K was my face when she said that. Like hmmm

“I don’t want him to see me the whole week” I love yall 🤣🥰👏🏾
Y’all make every topic so interesting. I have no intentions of marrying anything, anytime soon, but I was so invested in this conversation.
Not marrying anything 😂

I'm currently planning my wedding, and I was quoted $8100 for the month of coordination. 90% of the wedding is planned. Weddings are definitely pricey
