very true, he was the best for me. Partly because he was the sharpest, most insightful, and had the most extended vocabulary of all the comedians before & since.
Yeah, true brother. You have to keep in mind that he's many generations removed now and allot of people just don't have the sheer IQ, not to mention the vocabulary to fully grasp allot of his work. Brilliant & wonderful man. God bless him.
A lot of people, a lot of his work. Allot is a whole other word that means something else entirely, but certainly not the same as "a lot". I don't usually pull people up on such things, especially on the Illiterates' Forum that is RUclips, but come on dude, twice in three lines? Back to school with you.
He was The Greatest One of all time to Mel. Always wished Someone would of Helped him I would of Loved to See him on TV Like Roy Obson was on there making a came back instead of losing everything and having to kill himself Soo sad. I must of followed in his footsteps Soo sad.
But it’s not necessarily that they don’t have the IQ, he’s just a product of a different time. Words or references that made sense then make less sense to people now because he talks about people we don’t know using words we don’t use anymore. Obviously, it’s still possible to understand and appreciate his jokes, but it’s difficult and to understand everything you need enough knowledge of that period of time.
Haww... you better off. Right outta of left field. Lenny isn't very well known today, but he's a true comedian's comedian and obviously is a huge inspiration to a great deal of the more cerebral ones today.
There were others ahead of their time Mort Sahl Murray Roman, Dick Gregory Gerard Hoffnung, and of course Brother Dave Gardner. Check out Hoffrung The Bricklayer, or Roman’, Movie for a Blindman.
Merci thanks, some material I haven't heard...And in the current climate of antisemitism it 's VERY VERY UNCOOL to listen to one- let me state, I not for Netanyahu and his actions- I think Lenny would hope for Peace too, esp. for the kids...Namaste from Ontario
wow norm macdonalds overly clean and even more antiquated set during the bob saget roast was so much funnier than this. i hear this crown laughing but im not hearing anything thats making me even smile
not funny to me, I never laughed once. If he changed history, how, this was not funny, he is not known to the masses. I will listen to more of his stuff to see if my mind changes but the few I have listened to never even made me smile.

Carlin was very hip to the vernacular of the English language, so much so that he integrated it in his act.
It's nice to hear Lenny being Lenny
People overlook how ahead of his time he was. today we see more people like him but in the day he was out there...

I'm surprised there still not censoring him. He really studied how we act in society.

I didn't know that was how Lenny liked to spell "Marriage"!
Since 58
true
Can you see it in an a general historical context, or in the context of the history of comedy?

Maybe the people in the audience were being paid to pee themselves. You think that's possible, or maybe you're just spoiled on Michael McIntyre?
Your an asd.this was 50 years ago
He's not funny, but that's only because I'm not strung out on heroin.
