Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
Your work is so delicate and peaceful, love it.
Thank you for watching and for such a lovely comment!
Bravo, Anastasia! Recently, you have been exploring and successfully exploiting white space usage. I still remember the painting with the sharply drawn sailboat floating on an invisible lake in the middle ground. That was quite dramatic and striking, like something mystical in a dream! With this scene, there is a misty coolness that contrasts very nicely with the substantial Raw Sienna warmth near the tree. Your use of lavender in the rocky foreground area echoes the shadow under the tree and also subtly connects it to the distant hills even though you did not use lavender in them. Well done!😁😍
Thank you so much David! Glad you liked this one! The use of the white space is such an important watercolour painting "tool" - it brings so much atmosphere to a scene.
This is beautiful! Thank you so much for the tutorial!

I had to Google you, and I discovered you're in Australia. After looking at your website, I have decided that the council rates can wait, as I need to buy one of your paintings. ❤
I am! I am in NSW 🇦🇺 If you are interested in any of my work on Instagram that is not listed on my website, let me know… I haven’t had much time lately to upload more work up for sale but I have many available. You can email me at contact@anastasiamily.com. Those pesky council rates are still important though 😁 Thank you for watching my videos and for your interest in my work 😊

Thank you so much! So glad my videos are bringing you joy!
When we paint from our imagination, how long should it take in the process to commit to the final realization of the composition of the painting or is it and the colors you are going to be using always evolving until near the end? Do you add detail to help you see where you would like to go next, or do you have the final work already in your mind? Thanks for another beautiful demonstration of your process that produces such a harmonious result.
Thank you for watching, as always. I love your question - I paint intuitively so I do not often go into too much thought about the mechanics of my process and why I do what I do on paper. But questions like yours make me pause and reflect, so I thank you for this.
When I paint for RUclips, in most cases I already have a plan in mind, so I am able to finish the scene in one sitting (normally it takes me days or weeks to complete a painting when I paint not for RUclips). So I do have a composition in mind straight away, but I use it as a guide and not a rule, as things can change when I paint wet into wet. The colours choices do change and evolve as my decisions on colour are based on what is happening on the paper in front of me and on the way the colours blend. I do not think about smaller details till the very end in most cases.
When I paint for myself (not for RUclips) I start thinking more consciously about the composition only after I completed the first wash. The first wash is often abstract, and when I paint wet into wet things shift and flow, so even if I previsualised something, it might not work anymore after I have the completed and dried the first wash. Same with the colours, but I also know which colours do work well together so I rely on my previous painting experience and also on colour theory to develop the colour scheme. I often place the focal point based on the rule of thirds or on the golden ratio, and I add the details at the end to balance out all the larger elements within the composition. Hope this rambling answer helps!
@@AnastasiaMily That was so kind of you to take the time to answer all my questions. Your answers make complete sense. I think watercolors, especially wet on wet, can release a force of nature which can be uncontrollable at times and the results wonderfully unexpected. To paint any other way than intuitively would be foolish. Your answers will prove to be very helpful, and I can't thank you enough. The rule of thirds and especially the golden ratio used in painting add to the beauty and reflect the creative signature of God on all of His wonderful works. I think if artists can reflect a tiny bit of that beauty, they can claim success.
Me encanta el tipo de pintura que haces. Pero no entiendo inglés y los traductores que uso no traducen los bocadillos que uss para exolicarte.
Pero así y todo me gusta mucho. Gracias
Thank you for watching and for your lovely comment, I really appreciate it! I do apologize that there are no subtitles
