Cool, if they want cyclists to be treated like motorists then I'll happily stick a licence plate on my bike if that means I can cycle down the middle of the road like you would on a motorbike, rather than close to the curb. I'm sure all motorists would gladly drive at 13mph for 20 miles or so.
@@RobBlazoff You don't get the genius of it. They force registration which reduces bike usage which then makes spending money on infrastructure an unwarranted cost.
A license plate on the back and front of each shoe. Of course, you can't forget about the reflectors on the side as well.. And for the youngsters, a big L plate on top of a helmet.
You allready pay to walk when you wore the dumb ass plastic nappys face coverings. But yes you do pay to walk in england by the council tax.If you refuse to pay it would be fines then prison.
Here in Japan sure bike registration is apparently mandatory, but nothing happens if you don't register your bike. Two of my bikes are registered because I bought them at Japanese shops but my Canyon is an outlaw bike, I kinda like it that way.
Registration plates will protect cyclists and motorists. Protect cyclists by stopping them from contravening the HWC (notice not breaking the law, HWC is a guide and rule book, not a legal document) Protect motorists when cyclists cause damage and bugger off.
I’m quite certain that a large percentage of cyclists can also drive hence are already paying road tax etc. Does that mean we’ll get a concession on our car tax if we also have to licence our bikes 🤔Also those lucky enough to have multiple bikes will definitely get stung 🐝
@@RobBlazoff Because each barrier to entry you put up less people do it. Less people cycling means less bike shops (and less revenue everywhere cyclists go) which means less jobs. It's simple.
You gotta remain anonymous when you jump red lights and break pedestrian legs mate !!!! Turkeys dont want to vote for Christmas 😂 im not a cyclist btw.
So this channel is aimed at cyclists and you're asking those that revel in anonymity if they wish to remain anonymous? That's like asking Sweeney Todd if they should put the price of razor blades up.

Perhaps better to insist on more bike protected infrastructure

That's fine as long as you pass the test.
And any motorist in a slow moving vehicle worth one's salt would move over at often intervals to prevent traffic build up behind them.
Er you shouldn’t be cycling close to the kerb, and taking the lane is often the most sensible option……
what's next pay to walk? I remind you that the Council Tax in The UK is already paid for that includes cycling. Thanks anyway for your video.

The question is about registration plates, not tax.

We allready pay to live and breath its called council tax.

We do need more bike lines not tougher law! What next? Licence plate for pedestarians?
I’ve been riding in Montgomery County, Maryland for 15 years, although I don’t live there. I had no idea they used to require bikes to be registered.
I'd be happy to pay a small annual tax if it meant greater legal protection and infrastructure. But it won't, and drivers will still try to kill us.
I think Barbados has a registration and sticker system. Again anti theft, although there are so few bikes, even if stolen you should see it quickly
China used to have bicycle license plate till probably mid 90s
A long time ago, the island of St. Lucia had such, it was a law. I even think it still exists, but not enforced.
Not a motor vech and if it has peddle its. A assistant motor hybrid hpv human power vech

No way I'm putting a license plate on my $4000usd road bike.
If we had plates, motorists wouldn’t be able to get as close as they currently do to pass us, due to increased width …..so … that’s never gonna happen
They dont want u to ride over 5 people together in ga. Crazy

Motorists pay Vehicle Excised Duty based on their vehicle emissions. Some cars pay £0 duty. Roads are funded through general taxation.
The fact people are thinking about this is absolutely ridiculous and stupid. I'm just glad it'll not happen any time soon.
Do this and you will loose millions in revenue from the cycling industry. Putting people out of work. Increasing social services expenditure etc etc.
Explain how, please.

Doubt it.

Of course it's stupid. Only a Tory government opposed to 'EU bureaucracy' would suggest it.
This will never happen, imagine some five year old getting her barbie bike registered, non-issue.
YES!!! Numberplate, insurance and road tax. If you want to be osrt of a civic society. Otherwise stay home!!!!!
Insurance is worth having
I've got it more to protect myself than anyone else imagine getting sued with no insurance screw that.

How the hell is a cyclist anonymous? And the fact you’re comparing cyclists to Sweeny Todd says it all really…….🙄
