So true, cause I would be mad too if characters that I wrote into existence were marginalized like in the play, but at the same time the scriptwriter was simply doing what he could with the distorted edit suggestions he was given. What needs to happen is that they need to put the scriptwriter and the original create in the same room as they write the script together, that would be the best solution I can think of. (Down with middle management and intermediaries!!!!)
@@qkwauzh8I hope we are setting up to giving them both a chance to do that. I can’t just seeing her have complete control. And the fact he is still around I would hope he could have his moment to shine too. But I guess realistically life doesn’t work out always like that 😢
Earlier this year in Japan, the author of a manga committed suicide due to a dispute over the script that arose between the manga's author and the drama's production staff. Because of that event, the recent debate in Japan tends to be sympathetic to Manga authors.
It's really sad. It was Hinako Ashihara sensei if anyone was wondering. She had written the award winning Sand Chronicles manga and had a long 30 years of experience in the manga industry. This happened due to the failure and disputes over the live action adaptation of one of her shows, sexy Tanaka san. May she rest in peace.
One of my favorite things about OnK is the incredible insight we get into all the production & creation process of all these media we consume. As dope as it is following the revenge plot and character arcs, seeing all of the behind the scenes look into the industry has been something ive looked forward to! More so cause we just get great stories of sympathy and perspectives with all the characters involved, in this case Abiko & GOA's conflict with this play. I'd imagine this was like therapy for Akasaka & Mengo to disclose some of their possible experiences too when it comes to adaptations. Awesome reaction as always Jami!
I love that the mangaka is putting the entire entertainment industry on blast. This show gave me a lot of insight into the creator side of the industry. It’d be nice if, when it’s all said and done, it will have a positive influence on both sides, the creator and consumers. Although, I’m not going to hold my breath.
I feel so bad for the screenwriter because it wasn't even his fault, he did the best he could with the information he was given, the real problem is that they don't allow the original creator and the screenwriter talk directly to each other, so their intentions and needs never get communicated correctly. This episode was so stressful, seeing the screenwriter get destroyed by the author, I hope they find a way to make him and the creator to talk adequately and write together the new script. That'd be awesome. The level of insight we got about the industry in this episode was crazy! I didn't know the original authors had so much power over the adaptions, I thought they were completely dismissed because of all the bad adaption cases we see, but as the show points out, these problems might come exactly from the excessive interference of the original creators. Things are always more complex than it looks on the surface. Great reaction Jami! I always love to watch it.
Melt Narushima is voiced by Seiji Maeda who also voices Touya (Black Summoner), Greenhorn Warrior (Goblin Slayer), Katsunori (My Clueless First Friend), Sho (Iroduku: The World in Colors), Barnes (My Daughter Left the Nest & Returned an S-Ranked Adventurer), Axun (Helck), Brian (I Shall Survive Using Potions), & a few more while Eng dub is Bryson Baugus who also voices Shoyo (Haikyuu), Bell (Danmachi), Kimihito (Monster Musume), Takumi (Food Wars), Seishiro (Bluelock), Falco (AOT), Yu (Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie), Kaito (Waiting in the Summer), Pegasus (Saint Seiya), & many more
I bet some woke nutjob from the Netflix crew tried to sabotage One Piece live action during the Pre-production. Thanks god Oda was so hands on on that show.
the mangaka is right, the scriptwriter screwed this up at the worst way! instead of arranging a meeting with the original creator and really understand the core of the issue he chose to play this ridiculous game of broken phone and a result the message was completely diluted and they ended up 2-3 weeks before premiere without a final script, that man got lucky to keep his credits and payment because he should have been fired on day 1

@@ASageCalledQ yeah but still he could ask whoever his contact is to meet the creator in order to better understand her position. it's all depend on how much he care and willing to do in order to make the production a success and judging by the manga's fury over the script I'd say that's a serious lack of caring or willing to do something outside his "comfort zone"

I feel for the screenwriter but also the mangaka… will be interesting to see how this plays out
Hello Jamii😊❤
🤍🥰❤️
essentially it wasn't his fault. Can't help but feel for him.

The mangaka ain’t wrong about using 2 toothbrushes, that shits efficient

Amen to that!! Oshi no Ko really writes all of their named characters so well, the details are there, and the story is fascinating.

In my opinion it wasn’t his fault, he did his best from what was told to him
Yeah. He was already on the same wavelength as the mangaka, he was just screwed over by the telephone game.

I love your shirt❤❤ it so catchy ✨
It’s from Uniqlo they have a new oshi no ko tshirt collection that just came out
I still have mixed feelings about who I should be rooting for, Kana or Akane 😂
Love the shirt! I also got an Oshi no Ko shirt from Uniqlo. It was the Aqua & Ruby one.

Also, I don't think it will be better if they communicate face to face when the author is someone like Bocci-chan in Bocci the Rock.
