Smashing vid as always Colin. It really is coming along at a rate of knots now.
Good to see you looking well Colin and as usual I thoroughly enjoyed the video. 👍
Apparently the break in the cladding fixing is actually bcos they are having a two week break so they can fix the brackets for the cladding to Go on the west stand and they'll soon be delivering cladding to the back of the west stand.... great video as per mate 👍
Yeah, club have released a new vid explaining 👍🏻 Barrel cladding complete by July
Great Vid Colin. Did you see that they had started the polycarbonate on the south stand?
John: yes, even if he didn't, I did. Good to see.
I didn’t John, it is so difficult to spot things on the small controller screen , especially days like yesterday when it seemed there was something happening everywhere .
I am trialing a new system next week where I will have a much larger screen to view my footage live and then hopefully spot more things earlier moving forward.
I was actually speaking to Nick(mr drone) yesterday about the problem of spotting things on the small screen.
Great Video Colin, I think the barrel roof cladding has stopped because the very bottom bars along the roof structure has ones taken out every other section or so( not sure if this has anything to do with the roof itself being finished) but the cladding attaches to these so they cant really go any further until they are fitted. You can actually see them on the floor just below each section they are from on the concourse.
It looks like it is on missing on each section where the scaffolding is built behind the roof structure.
Kenny: may I suggest you take a look at my separate initiator comment for a more comprehensive consideration.
When I was in there this afternoon I'm sure they were putting the last of the glass in on the north end
Great video again Colin, so much progress in all areas. I know you can’t do anything about filming inside the stands but if progress inside is as rapid as outside then this stadium looks right on target for its expected completion date. Thanks so much for your regular updates 👍👍👍
Inside is coming on fast, according to a recent article from Everton, kitchens and bars have started to be fitted out.
@@stephenlinden-wyatt-ys8vy Stephen: I have no idea why none of my attempts to answer your Q on Mr D's channel would 'stick'. I shall watch with interest if the same thing happens with another reply to someone asking much the same as you.

Hi mate there seems to be some fixings on the north stand roof do you know what they’re for
Psycho: Safety Harness Anchors is the popular vote, although it would be good to get confirmation from one of the Roofing Contractors.
1) With regard to the items on the north roof, I suspected them to be anchor points and just wanted confirmation from a roofer. You can now see wire between a few anchor points near the NE edge. What piques my curiosity is that the roofers have been walking about freely, without being attached at all, and despite the anchor points being 'roughly' along 3 E-W lines and then roughly 3 N-S lines, the fact that they are not in regimental lines, makes me wonder if they are located temporarily. So, confirmation from one of the roofing contractors would be good.
2) There is much discussion about why they've have stopped doing the barrel-cladding and most people are suggesting ONE reason only. I think it's based on several parameters, such as:
A) It's important to note that the installation of barrel-cladding is NOT directly influenced by the finishing of the Top, Standing-Seam roof. The top section of the barrel-cladding is not overhung or joined to the top-roof. When the top barrel-cladding section is affixed to the top white horizontal steel of the barrel structure, the top edge of the frame aligns with the outer/front edge of the wide metal gutter that runs along the top of the barrel roof, some of which has been in place at the NW and NE corners from before the roofing started. The Standing-Seam roof will end just overlapping the inner edge of the gutter, not the outer edge. The temporary safety railing is clipped to the outer edge of the gutter at present, so the roofers can still work safely on the roof without interacting with the barrel-roof. They are separated.
B) Whilst heavy machinery and equipment is still doing work on the concrete rooves of the East and West Stands, due to the fitting of plant and the air exhaust system (shrouded in those scaffolding towers under the barrel-roof), it probably wouldn't be ideal.
C) To allow for easy access for B) above, some of the bottom horizontal white steels are not yet installed and will require crane access to lift them up to install. Clearly it wouldn't make sense to start applying barrel-cladding without the steels fitted.
D) I expect it would be safer to do the cladding when the Core/Scaffolded Service Towers were not in the way but I can't be sure that's a complete no-no.
E) It will be dependent on access from the ground so what is going on below is crucial. And here's a thought. Maybe they actually did the cladding in the NE Corner because they urgently need clear ground there to get on with the installation of the surfacing, gradients, stone-laying, tree wells, borders, lighting etc. In other words, we have presumed that what is going on below dictates the cladding, whereas it IS possible that the groundwork needed the cladding done there first.
Thanks David as always, I drew a blank investigating, my contact who worked on the roof hasn’t been there since Christmas.
I am amused that at 6:55 and 7:26 mins you can now see little steel bridges for pixies on the concrete roof of the North Stand, located where the 'expansion gaps' run through (which is why there are double vertical steels located there).
Barrell progress has been halted due to the tower scaffolding in the way
Music: may I suggest you take a look at my separate intiator comment for a wider consideration.
What are the white tent things, in the stands?
Coverings over the entrances to the stands, they'll remove them when the roof is completed.
For covering for safety reasons in case anything falls from above and also to keep them clean and new I think mate .!!
Does anybody know if the same long strips of roof cladding on the North Stand will be being used/put on the other 3 roof stands (ie) West ,South and East Stands..?? As we were originally told that the long roofing covering which came out of the container raised upto the North Stand roof were the longest/biggest roof cladding ever constructed but that cant be right because if they are the same type of strips/material the West and East Stands are alot longer across than the North Stand were the've been placed as the last ròof covering..!!
Yeah, it’s the same roof skin on all stands. The north stand was done in full length strips, but the south stand looks like it will be in two halves. The join will be under the solar panels.
It will all look the same when finished.
Given the North runs edge to edge and that will also happen on the South when that is complete, the part in-between won't be much (if any) longer than the ends. A standard pitch is something like 105m by 68m, as stated above the ends go over the stands each side that means it has to be getting on for a hundred or more metres.
But it could well still just run East to West like the parts that are closest to the side stands.
@barry-clark Thanks Barry mate, so if I'm understanding you correctly the South Stand will have the same final top layered strips as the North Stand has..Yes..?? And the East Stand and West Stand will have different top layers than the North and South Stands..!! Do you know what they will look like.? Will it be maybe be a couple/few top layered strips to cover them because when looking at the pictures from the Architects of the roof it's not really clear what they will look like..!! If that makes sense mate 👍🫡💙
@barry-clark Hiya again Barry I've just Googled pictures of the Stadium Roof once it's completed and the East and West Stands look different than the North and South Stands, the top layers don't cover the roof length ways the way the North and South Stands do they top layers across rather length ways like the North and South Stands do..!! If that makes sense..?? lol 😉 Basically they run width ways rather than length ways if you know what I mean mate.. wish I hadn't asked th question in the 1st place like going down a rabbit hole 😆😆😆
It’s the length of the strips that is the important factor, the strips will continue across the east and west stands in the same direction as the north stand so therefore will be a lot shorter than the north stand and the south stand strips will be identical in length to the north stand.
When are they going to sort out the algae it's bloody awful. Also the mezzanine steps with no protection from the elelents i can see them getting really bad too.
It's probably from all the mud trampled onto them by the workers. They'll clean it all up and once the surrounds are sorted it won't be an issue any more.
The stadium is on the docks. The algea is caused by the elements coming from the sea…
@@Stand663 Fair shout. You'd hope they'd have some sort of plan for dealing with it going forward though.
Collect it and recycle It. It can be used as compost/fertiliser etc.
@colingillbanks4022 yeah could well be
