I know this is an old video, but I have an 03 accord, and like yours my model didn't have the steering wheel controls originally; years ago I bought steering Wheel Controls off ebay,. and installed it. One of the best additions you can get for these radios. It makes the driving experience so much better than constantly fiddling around with the volume buttons on the unit while driving. But either way I love these android head units, I only wish the hardware was better so that the experience would stay smooth as they age.
@@charltonarmstrong9022 It's just 2 wires and one of them is ground so you can find some ground point in the upper steering wheel but the other wire has to connect to the "Key1" on the head unit so it has to go through the clock spring in the steering wheel (it's where the other wiring for the cruise control and horn go through so they don't get twisted when the steering wheel turns), as I recall, there is an unused slot in the clock spring harness that you can use. You can use a continuity tester to find out which point on the other side to connect the wire to the head unit. It's easier than it sounds once you see how things are laid out.
Yo man if you click the build number a couple times you will become a developer and then can disable absolute volume for BT. It helped me a ton and I got a ton more volume.
I have a 2007 v6 and it completely blew out some wiring or something going to my ac, not sure yet still have to fix it but now my compressor isn’t getting power. Tried putting stock radio back and still no power to the compressor but the compressor and fuse are good
@@nathanielarchuleta3755 🤔🤔🤔that's weird. So I've actually done QUITE a bit of research on the matter as far as ac goes with this car. It gets grounded by the ECU. Apparently that's an issue. I didn't have ac when I had the original radio, and I never tried to diagnose my AC until after I had put in the xtrons(I'm a mechanic) so you may want to look into that
the touch screen on mine has stopped working altogether after one year. still auto connects to my phone via bluetooth but cant control volume anymore. and it was set at a low volume when touchscreen quit working. not sure what the issue is. tried taking apart and everything seems connected

Sound quality is good. Definitely needs some tuning to get it sounding sweet. No hissing, and yes when you turn lights on, the radio buttons turn on, and the touchpad on the side.
You replied to someone saying that the CarPlay dongle isn't worth it. Will android auto work even without this dongle. Really like the simple look of android auto. Thanks for documenting your experience for us
I'm saying car play isn't worth it because you do all the same features on the radio with hot spot activated. Working the radio is literally just like working your phone. I'm not sure how much the dongle is but I see no reason to have it. All I have is mobile hotspot. I don't even use my phone anymore.

I’m not if you are still replying to these comments but I just got this radio and plugged up everything okay. for some reason the ac controls on the touchscreen don’t work when I press them but the actual buttons do. It also doesn’t show the temperature on the screen so I can’t tell what the temperature is. do you know why?
I can't get the single mode to show, it stays on dual mode, even after I reset the unit by going to settings and typing in the 8888 code and making sure it's on 75 ( Honda accord 7 gen) and single mode. I still get dual mode, and low air flow from center vents went AC is on front vent mode. . This is my second unit , first was worse
If I don't have a smart phone with android or apple wi-fi capability, can I use my home's wi-fi network password to connect to the internet for software updates on the radio? Thanks!
@@charltonarmstrong9022 Thanks. I didn't realize I needed a constant wi-fi signal for the radio. I thought it was like old fashioned radios with car antennas. I'll just use the broken back-light factory radio because I use cheap tracfones without wi-fi signals.
@@JasonJayJJ1 no, for the radio, it will work like regular. You can do Bluetooth atleast. If you don't have a smart phone, then the radio will be just a fancy radio.
Charlton, what flavor of ODBII do you have? I could never get mine to work so I returned it. Did not know you had to be on Bluetooth One or top level. I'd have to buy another one and figure out how to make it 1. Could you do a video on setting up and using your ODBII? Thanks, your fans.
@@charltonarmstrong9022 Oh, level meaning, you mentioned the ODBII had to be on top. I.e. Top level of Bluetooth. So, the ODBII needs to be the first selection or first bluetooth device in your headunit bluetooth section.
Yes, you need wifi. Consider it a tablet for your car. It needs internet to do anything. You can use bluetooth and all that but if you don't want to use your phone at all, and only rely on the radio, youll need hotspot

Just put one in my 07 accord.. did u have any issues with the vents going back in.. mines leaves a small gap between radio and vents🤷🏾♂️.. radio is screwed in and everything.. it’s like the radio wasn’t made correctly at the top..

Yes it works with factory navigation there's just a small gap at the top because the ac vent panel doesn't go down as far. Look at amazon and buy from amazon but if you want newest android 11 you have to order directly from xtrons
Couldn't really tell you. I use wifi hotspot and I use the radio itself for music. I don't normally have it connected, but the few times I do, phonecalls would be weird.
No, as you are swapping out your radio, you'll be using Google maps, or whatever gps app you want. You can connect your phone as well. You won't be using your stock Navi. I have heard that the vents for the Navi accord won't sit flush with this radio, or something to that nature.
Single din is just the size of the radio. I mentioned single din because you can retain your Factory Navi radio and put a single din(1.5 inch thick) radio and still have a small storage compartment vs a double din(3 inch thick) radio and have no storage.

i put one in my 05 it does the job my only complaint it is realy slow when i do anyting even i did'nt install app to help for the speed. it suprise me how your's is quick even with app and game installed without even closing app after use it.
Did you get the xtrons one? And also did you connect to wifi to update the apps and everything? I went through all menus to ensure it was updated it. I'm actually surprised how snappy it is having so low ram.

it takes long than 5-7 seconds. To be honest its kinda slow to fully boot up. I'll say it takes almost a 1 to 1.5 minutes to complete boot up and everything working properly.
@@Kadashh I have aftermarket speakers all the way around. Some xxx speakers(nothing fancy) and the fronts are some other ones, again nothing fancy. Upgraded the tweeters in the dash as well.
I have single zone Ac on my accord and I connected it properly but cold A/C only blows to driver side. Passenger side comes out room temperature/ warm. -___- anyone know a fix for that?
Did you ever figure it out bro? The one I have has the dual plugs that plug into that black box. I saw somewhere you have to activate dual in the advanced settings but I can't find the setting.
Just figured it out you have to change canbus settings password is 8888 or 8878. Search ac not working 03-07 accord xtrobs radio it's listed on the website
Just an update. I hit up the company through Amazon and they are sending me a new canbus box. I tried changing the settings to no avail. Saved rebooted and nothing changed.
Did you go to the Bluetooth tab? Bluetooth won't work unless you are in the Bluetooth section(same screen where I say that I wish there was a time bar). See if that helps
@charltonarmstrong9022 nice man. I got the Android 13 but the doors don't show when open, the AC controls don't all work on the touchscreen. You have to use the mode button. I seen some older versions show Honda logo when you turn on the car, this one doesn't have any car logos downloaded on it. Do you know which one you're getting for christmas?

How did you wire it up? You got one of them universal steering controllers with the strap?
I wanted to get one but I got a wrap around my wheel and I'd have to undo it to put the steering control in, I know I'm sad

Did you get every app in the xtrons unit to work (GPS, wifi, youtube)? If so, can you tell us how?
All of that just works right out the box, minus RUclips. Need to download the app😌

Yes, mine is still going fine. I don't know about the warranty, but will buy another if it last 1 year

Yes you can! But keep in mind, not having a mobile hotspot, you really won't be able utilize the radio

You probably don't have the vents in right, the vents tabs are angled in a weird way

i put one in my 05 it does the job my only complaint it is realy slow when i do anyting even i did'nt install app to help for the speed. it suprise me how your's is quick even with app and game installed without even closing app after use it.
Did you get the xtrons one? And also did you connect to wifi to update the apps and everything? I went through all menus to ensure it was updated it. I'm actually surprised how snappy it is having so low ram.

From car being off to radio fully booted up and I'm swiping around, 5-7 seconds? Like any other radio. Or atleast any radio I had🙂

it takes long than 5-7 seconds. To be honest its kinda slow to fully boot up. I'll say it takes almost a 1 to 1.5 minutes to complete boot up and everything working properly.

My radio doesn't take a minute. Maybe 7 seconds is a reach lol, but no more than 15-20 seconds.

@@Kadashh I have aftermarket speakers all the way around. Some xxx speakers(nothing fancy) and the fronts are some other ones, again nothing fancy. Upgraded the tweeters in the dash as well.

I have single zone Ac on my accord and I connected it properly but cold A/C only blows to driver side. Passenger side comes out room temperature/ warm. -___- anyone know a fix for that?
You sure you don't have dual? Did you plug up the right cord? Should have came with 2 different harnesses (single and dual)
Did you ever figure it out bro? The one I have has the dual plugs that plug into that black box. I saw somewhere you have to activate dual in the advanced settings but I can't find the setting.
Just figured it out you have to change canbus settings password is 8888 or 8878. Search ac not working 03-07 accord xtrobs radio it's listed on the website
Just an update. I hit up the company through Amazon and they are sending me a new canbus box. I tried changing the settings to no avail. Saved rebooted and nothing changed.

Did you go to the Bluetooth tab? Bluetooth won't work unless you are in the Bluetooth section(same screen where I say that I wish there was a time bar). See if that helps

@charltonarmstrong9022 nice man. I got the Android 13 but the doors don't show when open, the AC controls don't all work on the touchscreen. You have to use the mode button. I seen some older versions show Honda logo when you turn on the car, this one doesn't have any car logos downloaded on it.

There's an 8gb ram+256gb storage unit in Amazon and eBay. This radio is too old and slow with it's 2gb ram lol
