- Lexus hasn't changed the LC 500 in almost a decade. And that's just fine.

This is my favorite car in the 100k to 200k range, it's so good and beautifully engineered
I got the 2024 with the same interior and Ultrasonic blue exterior but in coupe. To me this car is plenty fast. It beats 90% of the cars on the road. The sound is amazing. I know for the price point I could have gotten another car, but those cars have typical look and the LC is a piece of art. Besides I don't want to pay for on-going maintenance on the cars that do 0 to 60 sub 3 seconds (I don't care about that) I am in my 30s and I just love this thing.
Very good points. Still the LC 500 does deserve some interior design upgrades, to include: more interior storage, greater trunk storage via fold down rear seats or a hatchback, Singles holder, better cup holders, recess area for smartphone storage & charging, and better nighttime ambient cabin lighting like they found in the Merceds Benz models.
@@edmundcharles5278 Agreed
I agree with you 100-freaking-percent! I busted ass in 2022 to get my IS500 (flew across the country to get it at MSRP) because I wanted the V8 goodness only a naturally aspirated setup could deliver. No turbos, No hybrids, just a pure heavenly experience. Sound & Emotion still sells. Thanks for posting!!
Driving a tuned turbo inline 6 car, I don’t care if this wasn’t. The v8 is just sheeesh
i agree with you bro, such a nice and sick car. This is my dream car for daily driving
Man, I really love your channel. Reviews are absolutely on point! I remember when I got my RC-F, I watched your video with the Flare Yellow one multiple times! Haha.
I'd love to experience an LC500 one day, especially here in SoCal. I recognize those roads!
@@kennetha.1937 I watched his RCF vid several times too, it was so good!!
I love that color combo. I really like this car.
Having been around for many a years and owning over 100 different vehicles, I now drive an LC 500 as one of my cars. Magnificent and mad I didn't purchase one years ago. No it's not the fastest on the street but that is not what the car is about. I will tell you, if you own one of these, invest $200 in an electronic throttle control box. It will not give you more horse power just better engine response. Amazing difference and turns the car from an A- to an A+ in seconds. Trust me, I've done the super charger and turbo charger route on many a cars and this is by far the best answer for this car. Try is and let me know if I am right.
All the folks that spew numbers about performance fail to realize the primary demographic for ownership of the LC is the over 50 crowd...probably closer to 60s. This group (my group) could care less about 0-60 or weight. However, enough performance is there if you want it. The LC is a work of art and future classic that is not over engineered like the German cars, and is 3 times more reliable.
Its design is timeless, which is something I never thought I'd say about a Lexus. Beautiful car.
Thanks for the review. I love this car.
great review, really digging the lc
It’s the Yeees approval 🙌🏾 for me at 4:08 😂
man i had an lc500 for a year but had so many problems from the previous owner i decided to sell it, have a convertible mustang now which is great, but i am definitely buying another LC within the next 1-2yrs, nothing beats the sensation of acceleration and banging off shifts in that car
That's really surprising! Hopefully yours was an anomaly.
This car will make you abandon work from home. You’ll be waking up extra early looking forward to sit the traffic knowing you are in the LC and watching people turn their heads admiring.
Great philosophical review Charlie, thoroughly enjoyed it
Thank you kindly!
This car is significantly cheaper than any other luxury coupe. An SL price starts where the LC peaks
Great talking point and noted!!!👏
I wanted a c8 corvette, but currently drive a Lexus. I got interested in the lc500, even though I think the c8 seems more fun and better looking.
I was sold on the c8 over the Lc500 until I found this detail…
There have been 150,000+c8s made. There are only 12,000 LC500s.
The coupe is the best looking car for sale under 200k
One of my favorite cars on the road but how are they going to have a manual trunk on a 117k car?!
Lol I understand your sentiment, but honestly I''d rather save the weight and cost and just pull it open myself. But you're right, the typical buyer at this price point would probably rather have it be powered.
@1:09 "back seats are designed for paraplegics" had me in stitches 🙌🙌
That price tag, though... Would you rather have this or almost two 2024MY S650 convertible Mustangs?
But then you'd have to drive a ford around... 🤮
Absolutely yes. I’d give almost 2 base 24’ Fords for this car with “back seats for paraplegics “ also.
I get your point, but I would still take this. There's a passion behind this car that you don't get with the Mustang. And it's hard to put a price tag on charisma.
The full exterior gray colour is non-deserving of such a stylist and beautiful vehicle! The LC 500 needs a vibrant colour instead!
Charlie, Thank you for scraping through the tedious week you spent with this boring car to generate a review for us. 😉😉
You truly care, RLH.
@@DailyMotor 🤪
Nicest convertible on the planet ,period 💪
Very good price quality relationship.
The attention they give to LC is so high but also its a complete flip of what they give it to RC F. It's all profits in the end. LC 500 only downgrades are the loss of that clock and new dash. But rest they did not remove any feature, but they actually gave an option to fully configure with Bespoke. With RC F, Lexus downgraded everything, from the chassis to everything. They axed the TVD from 2023 models silently, removed Lexus memory aka driver memory from 2022+, removed auto tilt down electrochromic mirrors from 2022 not only they do not give auto fold but they removed the existing one to basic mirrors. Removed the engine bay bracing it was a key component since 2015 but nope. Changed the dash to 3IS, no more bespoke look. Because RC F does not sell at all. LC 500 gets sold despite the damn heavy weight and numb steering plus lack of Transmission and Oil coolers and no F tuning.
Vert is not worth for LC 500, there's a gap when you close the top. Plus the chassis design won't be rock stable like the Coupe.
What in the world.
@@lostalx When polled, the TVD was a rarely used item and it had some sort of mechanical issue. When it broke, it was thousands of dollars to fix and customers weren’t happy. Add up those factors, in addition to the lack of sales you’ve mentioned, and I can see why it was removed and replaced with a mechanical LSD. NOTE: The RC always had the same interior as the 3IS. I didn’t know about the other things taken away, good info!
Great overview of the car, but I miss Paris and Nicole from Daily Motor...
Me too
I am considering trading in my 2020 R8 RWD Spyder for a new LC 500 Convertible. Am I crazy? Grand tourer "dailability", interior, reliability and 10 years or 100k miles warranty here in Switzerland are the reasons.
Not crazy at all!
2+2? Back seats are totally useless. It looks sharp though.
this car reminds me of an updated version of aston martin db9
sweet sounds - but looks like it would be tempting to car jackers.
Why don't the two of you do reviews together anymore? I always found that dynamic the most entertaining.
We appreciate that! I move to California and left Chris behind in Michigan 🥺
@@DailyMotor Fly that boy out!
I hope one day I can afford this car.... I also hope they still make it witht he V8 at that time lmao
Does it feel quick?
Yes, and the noise and sensation help it feel quicker
If this car had been spec'd with a red or blue roof IMO it looks better than the coupe. Yes, boring black top adds nothing to the appearance.
Okay but hear me out. This lc500 is close to 120k and a z06 sticker is right near there. Obviously the z06 is a lot more car for the money and still has a na engine. The lc is much more unique. What would you go with?
Very great question, and probably the LC's best competition. You could likely walk out of a dealer with an LC for much less than a Z06, but for the sake of the question, we'll pretend you pay MSRP for both. If I had many cars and a lot of money, if I had no kids, and/or if I lived by great roads/went to the racetrack, all reasons to go for the Z. If I were looking for my one fancy car purchase, planned to own if for many many years, had kids/grandkids I wanted to take with me, and/or it were more of a Sunday cruiser, I'd go LC.
@@DailyMotor you’re awesome!! Great answer thank you!
@@DailyMotor okay actually i think the lc is better if you want a unique as hell luxurious and a little sporty, look cool purchase but the z06 will be more of a driving joy and you’ll look like every other person who has a c8. Really up to person test driving both then making a decision. I get what you mean with the kids but not sure if that matters when comparing these.
Also brand name of corvette isn’t strong lets say z06 spec’d out to 170k you could spend a little more and get a ferrari over that, so..
why not to bother with the hybrid LC?

There is no way it has 470 hp, the ergonomics are not good, it's too heavy, and it doesn't handle as well as the competitors. The engine sounds good but is underpowered(as fast as a 40i). I could barely slide it, whereas an 850i or an MB AMG GT does so effortlessly. For people who can afford these kinds of cars, reliability doesn’t matter. It matters only if you buy it at high mileage, but even then it s gonna be expensive because lexus holds it's value
great colour combination
This or m4?
Daily driving? Definitely this. In fact, we did a whole video on it, ruclips.net/video/t1MbmNlIwYc/видео.html
I don't buy a car for its passion and charisma. I buy it for looks and performance.
😅😅 ,
