I absolutely love how Alan blows back at the Judge as the Judge is speaking right into his face, the blatant unspoken declaration that the Judge's breath stinks, priceless.

To be fair this is one of my favourite judges. He plays the no-nonsense judge role so perfectly. Whenever I watch the show I always look forward to seeing him in court.
He was one of my most hated judges on the show. Blatantly biased. Every case he is in, he is obviously against whichever side Alan or another member of his firm is representing. In this trial, alone: (1) He speculated that she probably confessed to him that she did the murder, and she fired him because he either didn't want to defend her or wasn't able to put her on the stand without suborning perjury. This implies that in his mind, she is guilty, and expressed his opinion in open court. (2) He allowed the case to move forward despite the police withholding the "nugget" that would hurt their case, despite it being necessary disclosure in discovery. (3) He allowed records of therapy sessions of the client where she confessed to fantasies of murdering her husband to be introduced into the record despite it being covered under doctor-patient privilege. And those are only the ones that I can think of on the top of my head.
@@finris1 anything linked to murder is not under doctor-patient. If they got the documents in the first place it means the therapist stepped forward having decided they were credible, you cannot just randomly subpeana the therapy records without first knowing there are credible murder threats. Pretty much everything Alan Shore did could be a best moment! He was full of them!
