how can a country that's responsible for kicking out over 100,000 of its citizens claim to be "the happiest and most peaceful country"? In fact, Bhutan is the largest generator of refugees till date!!! It's so sad how stories of some people goes unheard!

Bhutan is peaceful and remain peaceful for very long time to come. Plz don't worry about Bhutanese people. They can take care of themselves. !00,000 refugees are from Nepalis from bordering countries.

I agree, something doesn’t feel right about how everyone is dressed the same and bowing to the king. I think anyone can make a video like this and just show how great they are. I am sure it was directed by the king himself.

An amazing country, beautiful people, a wise king - I do pray that the rest of the world will respect their independence always. The king's sense of humor is appealing, "The only country in the world where pigs fly!" It is unfortunate that they do not grant religious freedom. No driving on Tuesdays is great. I never would have thought it possible, but as it stands now, if not for just a few obstacles I'd be greatly tempted to investigate what it would take to be granted citizenship. Since that will never happen, I will just work at holding a special place in my heart and mind for this country and her citizens; they are correct - this world NEEDS at least one Bhutan!

Shauna Russ I think they really need to have religious intolerance. Their culture is under threat if other religions really take control, and missionaries are really eager to inch in.

Do you know about more than hundred thousand of Nepali Origin Bhutanese forcefully evicted by this tyranny ruler? How can this king and his kingdom can have gross national happiness while 100 of thousands of it's citizens are suffering in refugee camps? Reporter of this video please, try to bring the true plight of this kingdom and what it's king has done to it's fellow citizens. Bhutan was never a sangrila nor has gross national happiness, even today.

@@insight7232 visited the refugee camps on the border of Bhutan. 100.000 native Nepalese who lived all their lives in Bhutan, were kicked out. I made photos and tried to get them published. But no one was interested. I took 25 years to give those people a new home. Some of them still believe they will go back somedau to Bhutan. So no agenda but the harsh truth. Think about it.

Its ironic that the scientific, modern industrialised world is so certain that they are advanced that they call themselves "developed" and other countries like Bhutan "undeveloped" when it is patently obvious that this is not a true reflection of reality. How could we have got it so wrong? How with all our scientific knowledge of the human species did we confuse money with happiness or freedom with choice? What good is to come of economic growth and ecological harm for the future generations?

On other occasions, people choose to wear pants and shirts, which is acceptable and which is granted by the constitution. This almost solipsistic kind of philosophy can become a destructive force, because they might give up their special life too easily. Besides, an illusion of an illusion (the tv) can affect the illusion itself, which is in this case life itself (whether it is an illusion or not)...
