I like going through stations at night, I find there a special atmosphere. Thanks for this nice video.
Homeless, mentally ill, drug addicts and hookers
@@SH-ly1uy 😂😂 that's true
The interior is quite simple and elegant. Thanks for the report, seems like overnight train is coming back.
This particular train never stopped running, in fact. Always popular.
I love train travel and I have enjoyed your video immensely. Thank you for this journey through Poland. The mood lighting seemed very relaxing. Relaxing is also the fact that there is no mindless chatter in your video spoiling the train experience. Your written commentary is both informative and pleasant. Thank you again! New suscriber here.
Wow! What a stunningly beautiful and blissful footage! This video is longer compared to most of your other work, thus gives us more to enjoy and immerse in. We viewers are unlikely to be in a hurry while watching videos like yours and obviously crave for the feel of journeying, so please - continue that way! Thank You!
Well you singledly do better marketing on polish railways that whole Intercity company and polish ministry of transport. They should've paid you for that
I am planning to do the whole route this year from Przemyśl to Świnoujście
Świnoujście is the best city of West Pomerania region. I hope you'll enjoy city ferries.
@@tadzikjunior9912 I already did. Pozdrawiam
Watching "schabowy" in Wars restaurant couldnt asleep.
Schabowy gives you a great opportunity to make joke to your german visitors: Hey guys, have you ever tried schabowy? Polish cusine special ;)
@@bartekr5372 Germans would say "but have you tried Schnitzel?" :)
That's one of my favorite train routes in all of Poland. That bit from Poznan to Szczecin is just beautiful, especially when you're riding at sunrise. It's just you, the train and the forest for tens of minutes.
Chyba kilka godzin
Ja preferuje Zakopane-Gdańsk,coś około 12 godzin. I prefer Zakopane-Gdańsk +/- 12 hours
Krzyz /kršiš/ is not german term, it is slavic word - slovakia -kríž, czech republic kříž, croatian - križ, bulgarian - krust
Krest - Russian... but then again its Kreuz in German... very similar anyway

20:17 "Polregio Turbokibel train"! :D You made my day, man! Cheers! :D
but, air conditioned modernized EN57 trainsets are called Turbokibel in Poland, that was I was told
@@doc7austin I`m sorry. I posted my comment without checking your profile. I though you`re Polish and you used the word intentionally, as a joke.
What you saw was indeed a Turbokibel. Now, ”kibel” in Polish is a humorous or pejorative word for a toilet or a slop bucket. So „kibel” is like the crapper, the john, the privy, the loo. Don`t ask me why the Polish railwaymen and train enthusiasts gave this nickname to several series of Polish electric multiple unit trains, consisting of 3 or 4 carriages ("cars" in Am. E.). 😊 There are also other nicknames for these unit trains (for example, "ortopeda", or "Orthopedist", for an old version with very uncomfortable plastic seats). The official names, however, are EN57, EN71 etc. They were produced since early 1960s till early 1980s. A few thousand of these trains were built, many are still in operation on suburban or local lines, after being thoroughly modernised. Those that received the largest upgrades were given the nickname” „turbokibel” („supercrapper”) to differentiate them from the old good "kibel"/„crapper”. :)
So yes, your informer was correct, buy I bet he wasn't a PR specialist from the train operator. :)
@@doc7austin As Pawel stated word "Kibel" is a slang for Toilet. And in fact old EN57 are called Kibel and modernized EN57 are called Turbo Kibel. There is a story to how the EN57 acquired his nickname tho. One version says that during the tests of prototype all electrical devices were mounted below the floor but due to bad weather conditions there were malfunction a lot, so the design team decided to eliminate the toilet in the middle compartment and create electric section there. Second story says that due to faulty design of pneumatic system and it close location to toilets the pneumatic lines got contaminated with waste from toilets very often so when the doors were opened (there were pneumatic in the original versions) they would spray all those "wonderful scents" around the whole train...
interessanter Film und Züge , Danke, was auch interessant ist das die modernisierten Wagen vom Waggonbau Görlitz sind :)
Very impressive. It's good to see a restaurant car on European trains. Sadly, many have gone, but the extra joy of long-distance/overnight rail travel is to be able to have a proper meal, not just snacks and sandwiches.
Indeed, it makes it a special experience that is more attractive. Travelling by train is relaxing. Not time pressing. Spotting feeling of being underway. Special cosiness on a train. Daytrains as well. Make it with your friends, take top picknick basket, buy stuff in the stations or on the train, good music, enjoy the landscape, the rest...
Impressive indeed but only f
Many PKP intercity services in Poland even medium distance ones often have a WARS restaurant car with a proper food menu :D
@@seicgames4587Hope Poland never gets rid of those. Its absolutely terrible many German trains got rid of it (or are in terrible quality)
Pamietam ,że chyba w 78' jechałem na wakacje trasą z Kluczborka do Międzyzdrojów i wtedy to już była długa podróż ...

Hmmm to byłoby coś... Taki tygodniowy trip z przystankami...
Modernized 'kibel'? Lol dude I'm almost died from laughing. It slang for toilet. Name was coined from plastic seats in electric train
LOL who told you that name :D
We have another seasonal night train in Poland. TLK Bursztyn it rides from Kołobrzeg to Przemyśl over a bit other route. By the schedule its 1051km and it takes 14:39h. Feel free to use it till the end of August.
good idea; but I will only travel to przemysl once the poland opens its border to ukraine and restores cross-border trains
@@doc7austin can we get more info? I live near Przemyśl
@@doc7austin Poland currently operates many cross-border trains to/from Ukraine. The main hub is Przemyśl, where platforms with both 1435 and 1520 mm tracks are used. Recently new connections have been introduced, such as a direct cars between Przemyśl and Kharkiv, as well as a new set of supportive coaches for Kiev Express.
There is currently undergoing maintenance for restoring railway link between Warsaw and Lviv. The solution for breaking gauge will be similar to the one used in a communication to/from Vilnius (that is: the Polish PKP Intercity coaches to Rawa Ruska on 1435 mm track and there door-to-door simple change to the waiting Ukrainian UZ coaches to Lviv on 1520 mm).
We invite you to test new connections! :)
@@uzytkownik5593 I could see Ukraine changing its gauge system to the European one. For starters, to prevent Russian trains to enter their country, and furthermore, to integrate into Europe/EU.
Pierogi ruskie are not "dumplings with potato filling" but "with quark and potato filling". In fact the better quark to potato ratio the better the dumplings. Another important ingredient is fried onion. I say this in case anyone thinks that in Poland we eat dough with only potatoes. 🤣
The video is great. I have never travelled this route, however I can see that there is really comfortable and clean train. :-)
I miss pierogi with cabbage and mashrooms:)
Zapomniałes dodać że Ruskie to sa z ziemniakami ale też z serem twarogiem czyli po angielsku cottage cheese
Fun fact, in Poland we call this train 'przemytnik' wich means smuggler. You can guess why.
This train is also called "Polish Orient Express" (the one from longest route in Poland)
Wow did you know the guy in 21:18 is a thief?
Just wondering if you actually sleep during these journeys as you always show the intermediate stops during your journey?

Thanks for another excellent video! I love your attention to detail.
As to the title for video: Europe's hidden sleeping car juwel
Yup
thank you for the input
Thanks Mr, Webster.
nice sleeping train and interesting historical route
I took a night train from Prague to Frankfurt on a similar night train, which was simply fantastic. This was in around 2009 so I imagne the qualty is better now.
I woujld definitely do this one, had the virus not killed travel.
you can't make that trip anymore, this was one of CNL's trains, and they stopped a few years back. Some trains were taken over by ÖBB's Nightjet network, but not all, or they were rerouted. Perhaps this one will return, there is some kind of renaissance for night trains in Europe, but I haven't seen anything concrete yet.
Podoba mi się koncepcja i montaż.Dzięki.
Wish I could have seen that you were coming. I live in Krakow, could have shown you some cool sights.
I was going on that train 10 years ago when our school went to krakow
When I went to china not long ago and booked a sleeping train from Hohhot to Bejing the sleeping rooms have 4 beds each, there is no such thing as a single or double only sleeping room. Basically either you book all four beds or you sleep with 3 strangers many will be snoring away
China Railways offers Deluxe Sleeping cars with just 2 beds in the cabin
Don’t know about you but that water looked Baltic, I’ll get my coat
4:34 for those who ''would like to know'' kibel in polish means toilet... or trash can. In this case it's toilet
We have enjoyed many PKP journeys in the past & have always been impressed
Great! Many Poles aren't enjoying traveling by our trains, unfortunately. It's good to hear, that foreigners like our country's railway. I'm sorry if there's a grammar mistake.
The train line information gives us a reminder of industrial revolution and empire. Another great journey - through history!
How do you now he was thief??
Another very well done vlog. I truly enjoy your videos. And thank you for the narrations. Much appreciated.
THoroughly enjoyed this awesome rail log ! At some point you made a reference to someone as a thief looking for valuables :) was that a sarcastic comment ?
As a child I used to go to Międzywodzie every summer with my grandparents, and this included a travel by night train from Warsaw to Świnoujście (Międzyzdroje are technically closer but we preferred to go to the end for some reasons). It is a shorter route (first part is something like Warszawa-Kutno-Konin-Poznań , and from there probably the same, about 630km altogether) , but I see that the general feeling was similar. I loved the train ride part of the holiday and I was excited about observing all the details of the train, climbing the top bed by ladder, etc.
Wow nice long trip in railway
Thanx for great video! I see pierogi again? Lucky man! Greetings from Scotland!
Could this train trip be done comfortably (and safely) by someone who only speaks English?
Of course. Majority of polish people speak quite well in english, language barrier is not a problem anymore.
Beautiful views. Especially in the early morning. Great movie😊🍻
308A - The best sleeping car on polish rails. I've traveled on it's board twice and waiting to make it third time.
Very comfortable and airconditioned.
First time i traveled in this car in october 2017 in a single cabin.
The second time was this year on april, in double cabin. Because of covid restrictions i was totaly alone in cabin all the way to Świnoujście. IT was great experience and pleasure.
17:10 - Yep! That's my homeland. City where i live. Thanks for showing it.
멋진 열차 여행 영상
감사합니다 💕
"Kibel" region train
I can see that they've even introduced a TurboKibel! :D
Kibel comes from "Kübel", its a slang translation from Kubeł.
W Niemczech na sranie idzie się na kubeł(Kübel/Pott = Wiadro, Kubeł ale jak to w Polsce z Ü się robi wymowne I ), w rejonach Zagłębia rury jednak na to się mówi "Pott".
The main passage thru the "Galeria Krakowska" shoping mall is open all the time, including nights and holidays :) (but all shops are closing during night of course)
Lovely new lighting and good to see you travelling again. Reliving my European train journeys with you.
That was another excellent video !!! That sleeping looked incredible ! Does it have air conditioning for the summer?
The dining car looked really nice! I would love to travel aboard this train...
Thank you for sharing this with us !!! :):):)
All trains of IC category and up SHOULD have AC, but there are rare exceptions.
Very enjoyable, thank You!

I love how you said that some thief is wandering around the train like nothing is happening
Nice ride! Why did you disembark before the final stop?
because i wanted to get to the beach
Another excellent video, thank you!!

You madee video about tghe Portlands. Now, abiut bike path downdow. You might wish to mention the status of the connection between Martin Goodman train east of the Don and west of it, as the cyclist bridge was taken out. This effectively removes a mode of transpotration into Toronto.

W tym nowym sleeperze nie widzę, czy coupe można zamknąć z zewnątrz, gdy idę do toalety, czy można je zamknąć z zewnątrz? Dziękuję
7:35 This women behind bar XD
XDDDD
20:21 In case you didn't know "turbokibel" translates to "turbotoilet".
if you google turbokibel en57 you get a lot of search results
@@doc7austin Because that's what people call them, I just wanted you to know what it means.
dirty toilet
@@doc7austin Nickname "kibel" probably has its origin in fact, that in EN57 one toilet was taken for the electrical devices in comparison to earlier version. "Turbokibel" is deep modernization of EN57, it obtained more powerfull AC motors instead of DC and max speed is increesed to 120km/h.
Great video, nice to see a train serving proper food!
this new sleeper I don't see if the coupe can be locked from the outside if I go to the toilet, can it be locked from the outside ? Thank you.
I love those shots from 24min. What a beautiful scenery!
we do not write it's trains ... we write its trains ..what a stupid spelling mistake !!!
4:37 you could write EN57 - "Kibel" is not so good name for toilet
Yeah, but it is the proper nickname for EN57 as it used to be a crappy train (crap - kibel).
How much about sleeper price,thanks
Come in Romania and travel with Romania trains

This is one of my favourite train trip reports from Poland, and I've seen many, on this channel and other ones. So much work has been put into this, and it really shows the 'spirit' and atmosphere of this route. I re-watch it often :D
thanks for the feedback
I am Polish and I didn’t know about this train.
Great video !!
Before the war (up to February 2022) there were a couple of railcars that started even earlier than Przemyśl - in Ukraine (in the old Polish city called Lwów - ukr. Львів). They were also sleeping cars. Even though the Ukrainian railway track are of wider spread than the ones in the western part of Europe (including Poland) there is a "normal" (European) railway to Lwów. There is also a single wide railway track (Russian type) from Lwów to Przemyśl. This wide track is/was the only way for Ukrainian refuges to cross the Polish-Ukrainian border via train in the time of the current war. Since there is no flights to and from Ukraine their railway company is the primary way to travel across the country (and beyond) and they are doing a great job. There are several open ways to cross the border as pedestrians and/or using a car. The main one being the Medyka/Szechynie (ukr. Шегині) border crossing.
I wish we had a trans EU train, from the baltics, through Poland, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain until Lisbon in Portugal. How cool would that be?
If you had gone a little further to Świnoujście, crossed the river and walked a little way out of town to the other station you could have caught a UBB (Usedomer Bäderbahn) train which goes along the island of Usedom calling at many of its resort towns then on th Greifswald and finally Stralsund. There is also a branch line to Peenemunde. Well worth a visit.
yes, but i dont like the german baltic coast line; its only for old people (no fun)
and isn't the border closed for the moment? You are discouraged to cross it in any case. But I quite like the German Baltic towns, too, especially on the island Rügen. I'm not that old, (under 40), but I mesh well with an older crowed, generally :)
@@barvdw Ah yes, I had forgotten about border closure! I hope you discovered 'Rasende Roland' on Rügen, one of my favourite steam lines. I lived for 4 years on the German Baltic coast and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the region by rail with the Schönes Wochenende tickets.
Thanks for that tip. Good to know that.
which end station will this train serve at Świnoujście? as Świnoujście Central is on the "German" side and only served by DB trains, this must be on the east side of Świnoujście?
Świnoujście Wolin (East), Świnoujście Centrum doesn't have connections with Poland.
I think you missed the best part, Świnoujście to Świnoujście Port, which are (via Wikipedia) 570m apart, so basiclly you can be quicker walking than train.
Thanks for nice video. Brings back childhood memories, as when I was a child, I travelled with my family in sleeping cars for vacation at the sea (but on a slightly different route, from Kraków to Kołobrzeg, not to Świnoujście). Since then I wasn't in a sleeping car anymore.
Fun fact: at those times (I don't know exactly when it did change, but I see from your video that it did) sleeping cars were - for safety reasons - shut off from the rest of the train; the doors between the sleeping car and the other cars were locked, and you couldn't walk eg. to restaurant car (of course also the passengers from other cars couldn't walk into the sleeping car - that was the main reason why the doors were locked). If you wanted food from the restaurant car, you had to ask the sleeping car conductor, and he would bring it to you. He also had a small kitchen in his compartment, so if you wanted eg. tea or coffee, he was preparing it right away, didn't have to go to restaurant car for it.
Another fun fact: at the beginning of the video, at 3:22, you can see the famous monument of Dżok the dog. It's related to events from 1991. Dżok's owner was walking his dog at a nearby big roundabout, on the other side of the river, when he suddenly had a heart attack. An ambulance took the man to a hospital, but they couldn't rescue him and he died. And Dżok stayed at the place waiting for his owner for multiple weeks, thus becoming famous in Kraków and even in whole Poland as the story was in the news. After few weeks he finally gave up and allowed some old lady to take him home. But Dżok's life ended tragically, as his new owner lived close to train tracks and one day Dżok was run over by a train.
"Kibel" means "bog" in english- Its a wulgar desciribe od this type of cars used only in railway slang. Not very popular in common language.
Thank you for nice movie!
Nice video, lots of beautiful views (esoecially that early morning).
But tbh I'm glad that I don't have to use night trains. Most of sleeping compartments in Europe looks too "sterile" and I like more "cosy" compartments like in GWR Night Riviera.
Normally this train has also double couchette to Szczecin and Świnoujście.
In the past Szczecin had many more night train with sleepers. All year train to Zakopane, Lublin via Łódz, Radom, Białystok via 3city, 2 night trains to Warsaw and Kraków, Prague, Budapest. We also had sleeper connections to Moscow, Kiev and most exotic - Burgas.
