This is a very relaxing tutorial. Thank you I need a little relaxation. Very enjoyable
I really appreciate how you go slow for beginners and don’t assume we know what comes next. I also love how you leave in things like dog hair removal! That’s real life and makes me feel better about all the dog hair that incorporates itself into my projects.
I agree 1000% with all you said1 😆
i totally agree
What a wonderful tutorial, thank you!
You are so welcome!
1:40 I ❤That style! 'Vonne it up!'🎉❤❤
Hehehe!
I really appreciate that your videos are real time and you show all parts of the creative process. Thank you for the time you put into helping teach beginners too!
So cool. Thanks
Love the glow
Glad you liked it!
Your giggles are infectious. I love that, and I also love that you take the time too truly show how much time it takes.
Might have found my new teacher in you. You truly show the joy of crafting
Thank you for doing a real-time tutorial on this. Canes, especially l3af canes, always overwhelmed me. So beautiful! ❤
Right on, Danielle! I am so glad to be helpful to you!
Bonjour elle est super votre feuille dommage qu'il n'y a pas de traduction en français merci
Just came across ur tutorial … great explanation and artistry… thx
Love your videos, your laughter and exuberance are contagious! One word for your housekeeping: Roomba (changed my life). Keep up the great crafting!! Thank you
I love watching your videos. Your joy is infectious. That leaf cane is GORGEOUS. I don't do much polymer clay yet, but you make me want to play!
hehe, thank you Diannne! Not gonna lie, its a whole lot of fun!
haha I was thinking the same thing!! XD
Oh I missed you!!! I got tied up! Good afternoon. I love your tutorials!!!!!!!
Doh! I'm glad we're here for the replay :)
I love these! The round one you could almost use as a table top in a fairy house if you cut it a bit thicker, it would look like a wood slab. I was so mesmerized by you shaping the leaves that I actually said “awww” when I realized you were done! Great video. I love them all but this one was one of my favorite!!!
oooo! I love that idea, Diane!
This is very interesting. You are so talented.
Thank you so much, Sallie!
Your attention to detail and referencing why you do things is appreciated.
I don't make with polymer clay but I find it so relaxing to watch and listen. Thanks!
Thanks, Wendy! Glad you enjoy it!
You have new sub, you were alot of fun to watch ty. 😊
It is such a pleasure to see how much you love the elements of your project as well as the finished product. These are great.
Thank you so much!
The color green is a cool gree
I am just imagining all the color combinations that can be used to create autumn crafts. Thank you. And that glow is awesome.
I've been doin polymer clay for a couple of years yet still this was very, very helpful and informative. And those LEAVES! Wow
This is a huge compliment to me! I am so glad to be helpful to you!!
You are awesome, keeping beginners in mind. I know I’ve been in that spot asking myself “is it supposed to take this long or be this hard”? Keep doing what you do I love your videos.
Lol! I am so glad to be helpful to you, Shawna! Even with over a decade of crafting under my belt, it is too easy for me to fall into that same rut of "this person does it in a snap, why have I been wrestling with this for 30 minutes?!" Then I remember editing is a thing /facepalm
lint roll your work surface before crafting. Just one of those sticky disposable sheet ones. Picks up fur, lint, random crumbs and other stray bits. Beautiful leaves.
Right on, I'll have to try that!
Well worth the wait I really love the color scheme :)
Right on!! Thank you! I am really digging how they came out!
Love that you take your time is beginners so appreciate you ❤
Lol! I’d rather craft than anything else at home too. I let my fur babies have the run of the house and there’s fur on my favorite chair all the time. The ONLY place they are not allowed in is my studio, a small extra bedroom right smack in the middle of the house. I work with polymer clays, resin and make quality dollhouse furniture. I just got tired of fighting the doggie hair. My baby is a Pomeranian! Love your videos and subscribed. You are truly a down to earth joy to see and hear. Thank you for your great tutorials.
Love this Von, very cute glowing leaves. I’m imagining all the clever things we can do with them. Love that you really enjoy what you are doing. This was the first video of yours I’ve seen, now to go checkout what other clever things you’ve come up with. 🧚♂️
Thanks so much 😊 Welcome to the channel!
Pretty cool
Love colors!! Very pretty!! ❤️🍃
Thank you! 😊
I love when you cut the skinner blend in half too! That texture is awesome!!!
Loved the rolled up log trick!
such fun!!! You know you can make a glass murrini (cane) the same way - build on the main rod until you get it how you want it, marver it into shape and pull it into a "stringer"... Once it is cool, snip off little chunks and stick it on your larger work or beads! Popular way to make eye parts to stick onto a white gather & make cool eyeballs.
Yes! I haven't tried that technique, but a lot of polymer clay techniques have their roots in glass working!
Hello, I am a new subscriber! I want to say I love how much detail you add in your videos. This is extremely helpful!😊
I just started getting into making canes and I really like your video. You take your time and explain everything along the way which is what I need right now to get more experience. That is such a beautiful cane you made and I'm impressed by your talents. Thank you so much for posting your video. And yes, I love that glow effect.
Right on! I'm glad you like them!
If you want a very vieny leaf with a pronounced gloat what you can do is make a blend and then make a thinner sheet of just glow clay and roll then together to get a "striped" bullseye. then you smoosh the plug into an oval, cut it on a diagonal, then flip one half and put it together. I usually reserve some "blend" and fanfold it to make a center slice.
ooo, that sounds awesome!!
i loved watching this tutorial. thanks so much!
I am so glad, Jeanette!
I love watching your videos. You’ve inspired me and kind of gave me the boost I needed to start creating rather than just wishing I could, if you know what I mean. I wish I could upload the dragon’s eyes I’ve created. Thank you ❤️
About the pet hair, I have found that most of it comes from what I'm wearing, so fresh and lint brushed shirt helps quite a bit as well as dusting the work area. I have three Persian cats, so ya!! 😹
Thanks for the tip, Max!
bravo! thanks and thanks for showing the human side!!
Really enjoyed your tutorial. You're real and funny enough, down to Earth. Liked and subscribed 😊
Love how the leaf look
Hi there! I actually don't do polymer clay, but I do enjoy crafting in general. I just sort of wandered over to this video as it came up in a recommend and I gotta say, those leaves were just too beautiful to pass up! I wanted to say thank you so much for showing me how incredibly involved it is making all these amazing polymer pieces that I see around, I had no idea! Watching you was extremely relaxing and you have a very soothing voice and I enjoyed getting to see your own reactions to all the neat outcomes. It's been a stressful week but this just helped me to relax and enjoy some truly wonderful craftsmanship, ty!! The leaves are gorgeous!! XD
Wow, thank you so much Lite! Your kindness has made my day!! I am so glad you enjoyed this video!
Pretty little leaf!
Beautiful leaf cane Yvonne 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thanks so much Joyce! 😊
I love your leaf cane it is awsome thank you so much
This is so fascinating! Love it!
I'm just getting into polymer clay, and I want to get the tools that I need. What is the cutting tool (long one) that you use, and where can I get one? BTW you are my crafting idol. :)
Duh, I didn't scroll down until the video was over. Never mind.
@Sharane Wiedenhoeft; You can purchase cutting blades like the one Yvonne used in this tutorial at either “Michael’s “. or “ Joann’s “ or any craft and hobby store. I purchase a lot of my polymer clay and tools from both stores. You might want to check out “ Turtle Soup Beads” with Susan, she demonstrates some interesting techniques and shares ideas on how to make some of your own tools and how to use some items like a number 2 pencil , a piece of white paper ( from the recycle bin), a knitting needle, or how to cut up a empty soda can to make a cutting tool, even an empty cereal bag and cardboard can be used in ways as tools. You can also check out “Tiny Pandora “; I hear that she has some wonder ideas and tools to offer also. I believe Yvonne ‘s forte is Fairy houses because she has made a lot of really beautiful ones to date and not an ugly one yet. ( If She ever made an ugly Fairy house , it would probably be for Ugly Fairies.) ✨👍👍✨🧚♀️🧚♂️
lol, you're all good Sharane! Thank you so much for your kindness, and good luck on your crafting journey!
@@emmalove135 Actually, I do follow Susan, but I really got the bug now that I'm doing this with my grandkids. Thanks for the tip, though. I got my clay from the local stores. Hobby Lobby had the best selection and prices. Baking is becoming somewhat of an issue. I have to do it at my house instead of my daughter's where the magic takes place. My son-i-law has a mildly violent reaction to the fumes. I don't smell anything.:) Thanks again for your advice.
Thank u so much, cause I am a beginner.
WOWWWWWWW!!!!!
hehe, thanks, Frances!
Excelente!!! Gracias por compartir!!! Bendiciones!!!
Gracias!
Your so cute. 🥰
:p thanks Margie!
When you cut the blend roll in half it looked like dirt with grass. Oh the happy accidents. 😊
Wait! Add dirt/grass layer to your jewelry box!!!
ooo! That would be so neat!
Hi Yvonne, your rolling pin is so clear, how do you clean your tools?
Hey, Diana! I use baby wipes or rubbing alcohol on blue shop towels ❤
Ok, thanks... have a great week..
Cool colors, were can I get the clay from?
Hi Von, can you tell me where I can get a blade with handles on the ends like you have?
👌👌👍👍👍
Leaf design
Wow where did you purchase all your cutters?
Heya, Sally! I got a pack of cutters from here: amzn.to/3AAzL9a and a lot of my cutters are modified from a set of round cutters that I got here: amzn.to/3m8BjDt
Try using a blow dryer
Right on! I'll have to try that!
Can’t you just roll it really flat, without a pasta machine?
Cut the video in half.
Nice excuse for not wanting to do the editing. Too much work huh.
Where do you buy your metal cutters?
Yvonne, this is a very well done leaf tutorial!!! Thank you!
Tip to keep your long strip from wandering back and forth on the rollers. Corral it in. Place the strip at one end of the rollers against the frame then, on the other side of the strip, place a "jig" to hold the strip in place. The jig can be anything that will sit on the rollers without getting caught between them or rolling around itself. You can make your own jig with scrap clay. The jig will need to be stabilized so the clay can't move it out of the way. Anything that doesn't get caught between the rollers that goes from the jig to the other side of the frame works. Desiree has a tutorial for making a jig and uses magnets to keep the jig in place. I made my jig much smaller.

ooo, this is an excellent tip! Thank you!
I’ve had a look and it looks nifty. Only thing I’d be worried about is the magnets putting tiny scratches on the bars as it rolls etc which would cause problems later on.
You could work in front of a laminer flow hood
