I really love the translucency of the gills, definitely makes it feels more realistic, especially for the kind of mushrooms I had in mind if I ever get around to start this hobby.
I learned recently that, if you add a bit of translucent clay to the red polymer clay, it will reduce the pigment depositing on your hands... and everything else.. without affecting the look of the clay. It works! These are so adorable!!!❤❤❤
Hi!!! 😍 Thanks so much for all of your tutorials. Your creative genius is such a blessing to the crafting & artistic community, and I can tell that you have such a kind soul too! Keep up the amazing work! You’ve got a fan for LIFE!! 😊
Thanks Yvonne! I've been meaning to try mushrooms in my work and have just never got around to it. Seeing your video inspired me to finally do it! Very cute!
For sure! I would recommend burnishing them into the surface of the unbaked clay and sealing after baking, or to mix to pigments into an acrylic medium as a carrier to paint the pigments on after baking. I hope this is helpful to you!
I have! It works in the short term, but over the years the pigments fade, so I just went ahead and invested in some mica pigments since many of my sculptures hang in windows or live outside
Just a thought... electroforming that /should/ be fine since the copper (if thick enough) would provide a pretty solid and structured shell or exoskeleton. That said, why use the "good" cosclay, when other clay works just fine? :)
I have had acrylic paint darken, bubble, crack, and discolor on some projects and come out fine on others when baking dried paint. I don't know what variables caused it, but it is something I keep in mind.

I find the cos clay deco too soft to work with. I’m going to have to try leeching it first. Thank you for the comparisons and demonstration! 😁
Very cool mushroom. I was wondering how you bake the mushroom without losing its shape? Also what temperature and for how long? Thank You!!
can you add mica's and uv glows in powders to the clay

If I use acrylic paint of my baked clay can I bake it again, or will it ruin the paintjob?? :)
