I went from a 36 hcp to 10 in 18 months. Did a 12 month jva course. (65 yo). I practiced heaps but had the yips for a while now and im 15 hcp . Jims system works butI was hitting 1000s of balls every week. I have no back pain either.
I been playing this for a year and a half. I THOUGHT I was doing this swing right and just happened to finally signed up this past May and WOW I couldn’t have been more wrong. I highly recommend to sign up at least for a few months and get feedback from Jim. I’m starting to finally get there but in it for the long run.
Are you able to share an example of something you thought you were doing right but then learned otherwise? Thanks for the comment and for checking out the video.
@@GolfQuestChannel I think your swing looks pretty close to what Jim does but I’m sure he could point some things out. So one thing I’ve been struggling with is my trail hand not being strong enough under the grip and also not enough weight on my lead side (even though it feels like I do). If you watch Jim swing you can see the power as he hits the momentum pulls trail foot off the ground and not forced, hoping to get there soon.
It's a good swing especially for your lower back. I've been working on it for years stillness is the secret. You're going to lose distance but understand in time it will come back.
Love the golf studio, very cool to see multiple angles like that. Rather than critique your execution of the method, I would echo the sentiment that signing up for his school is well worth it. Jim has a step by step process and along with his video feedback, given your current skill I'd wager you'd adapt pretty quickly and be hitting powerful, tight draws in a short time.
@@GolfQuestChannel not sure if he still does this, but back when I signed up he had 7 day free trial. One major difference in what you are doing and how his school works is that he would not start you out doing full swings. Given that his system is form follows function, with the set up really controlling the swing itself, it's pretty critical to get in a proper set up position first and foremost. Pretty sure he has a video on swing path drill on youtube, this is pretty fundamental, also.
Hi! I really appreciate your effort. A few of the directions you are taking from the viewers comments are not correct so I’d like to personally help you. Let me know if that interests you. 👊
Thanks Jim for checking out the video. Now you have my brain turning trying to guess which user comments were off lol. Definitely interested in your offer. What did you have in mind?
The JV swing is gold if the set up is executed properly. Im not in his school (yet) but Ive hit some amazing, effortless shots, using his system. It feels weird, but it works. That much I know.
I did it for a couple rounds. It worked well, then I forgot. I’m trying the Saguto golf nowadays. Pretty close where you set up on your lead legs and swing
@@52t99 ya I’ve watched Tom and like some of his stuff. However, he’s an advocate for the trail arm controlling the swing which goes against my natural tendency.
I’m a JV guy. To your eye it seems massively closed, but to your chest and body isn’t closed too much looks good, but Jim would tell you to close your body even more.
Sounds like you have golf swing ADHD like me. However, if you’re shooting in the 70s with each of them, it sounds like you’ve been more successful than I 👍🏻
it seems like you need to put more weight on your lead foot for the Venetos swing. I found it an incredibly accurate technique. At some point however, I couldn't help my desire to add more power with movement, and that was not too good for my knee. When done correctly its pretty amazing
I’ve had moderate success with short and mid irons, but struggled with long irons and woods, especially the driver. I’d like to you do this with a driver
Yeah is seems REALLY closed. What’s actually happening is you are striking a golf ball from the inside. This is why your draw is perfectly tight. Practicing Jim’s swing method made me think a lot about the golf swing. In that one of the basics is to strike the ball from the inside first and foremost.
@@lageronimo8012 it’s funny - last video someone commented I wasn’t nearly closed enough with my feet so I tried to make sure I closed them more this time.

If you move the ball back toward your left foot you will almost be in the Channel Lock swing set up. Check it out.
