Casablanca Wailea Ceiling Fan

Casablanca Wailea 31" ceiling fan in snow white. I bought this fan brand new in the box, like the Utopian it's one that I've wanted to find while the original version is still somewhat readily available. These are unique fans in many ways, the six blades stand out alone, but a lot of the parts are specific to this model alone, where most other models share certain parts with others. The 4/6 blade capability is rather a callback to Homestead, something that I was not aware of with these fans because there's no documentation stating you can use four blades. The hole pattern for attaching the blades to the arms is unique to this model, it's similar to Homestead's badge pattern but slightly smaller. Most notably, this fan does not have the iconic switch housing tag. I'm not sure why it doesn't, certainly every other Wailea I've seen has had one. A bit disappointing in that regard, but that's not really a deal breaker for me. Overall a powerful, quiet little fan, one I am thrilled to finally have.

Wow that thing flies! I want one! I think I like the 4 blade configuration best. 6 is a little crowded, and 3 just looks ridiculous.

This video shows a 3-blade fan, but we have a Wailea with 5 blades. Is it available with 5 blades anymore?

It has never been available in 5 blade form. There was a larger version of essentially the same style called the Lanai which was 5 blade, but the Wailea has always been 6/4/3. The Lanai is no longer available, an indoor-only redesigned version of it called the Capistrano is still available, as is the redesigned Wailea.
