Seems like his “spelling error” might be deliberate - “salting” is a common method of improving a cyphered message.
Yeah but you have to think he probably would have messed with them more like given them more important info if he knew that it would taken that long to decode. Not just to say that wasn’t him who called the lawyer.

It's also equally possible that he's a non-Latin American who grew up in a neighborhood of Latin Americans. That would still inherit his accent. It's also equally possible that the man who made up that many ciphers and evaded the police for so long right under their noses, made intentional mistakes to seem like he's latin American.
It's unlikely for either scenario to be the case, but it's still a very decent chance when they're combined, and trying to take that he's Latin American from non-visual clues would be less fact and more likely probability.

There is 2 layers in Z340 and Z408, and what they have in them is his name. It is laying on top of first translation.

Much of his communications during the beginning of the spree showed pretty strong evidence of severe bi-polar disorder and schizophrenia and the latter of the two only got more obvious with every new communication.
He likely was locked up in a mental ward after his last cypher.

So after all that time, it's just Zodiac telling us something that the cops and public already knew? Even though this code wasn't deciphered during the time it was written, Zodiac would have known that the cops were well aware that the caller was an imposter shortly after that event by simply reading the newspapers, which we know he did.

Those “mistakes” are also likely clues to the next cipher. The misspelling of “paradise” may point to an S->C transpose, or perhaps “pair of dice” might tell us something about how the cipher was made.

Sounds like Zodiac makes a lot of references to The Most Dangerous Game, a story about a crazed man who hunts humans for sport on a island. Honestly, his demeanor is very similar to the antagonist of that story.
