I loved this movie since it came out. I have no idea why people say it flopped, it was a great movie. entertaining & memorable for lots of people. Without Rob Sneider for comic relief the extreme bad guy Rico would have no contrast opposite. This was a great movie of extreme's just like the 90s Teenage mutant turtles, that had an extreme bad guy shredder and wise master splinter with turtle personality as comic reliefs. This was the trend in the 90s, which was loved. Also John woo movies etc. I wish future film makers take that magic balancing of moods as a foundation when making new movies with our advanced technolgies. This making of was very insightful how much work was done, terrible sneijder got so badly hurt like that. The Anti burn gel part made me laugh. "Lots of protection there, anti burn gel" ofcourse they used more on stallone cuz he's the star. lol poor guy. Anyway one of the most beautiful thing to me about this movie is the clothing. I've loved the boots of stallone's tight slim pants & that italian look Rico wore in the final scenes, slick as hell. Watching it as kid, I think it influenced my style towards the italian-longsleeves, cotton/elasthan and silk/satin fabric wardrobe lol ;) I'd love to have her design a costume for me haha. Maybe one day ^^
I absolutely respect your views. However, this movie was hot garbage. Especially for those of us from being from the uk and fans of the comics. Horrible For many reasons…7 biggest ones….the story, the tone, cartoony world, the helmet being removed, rob schnieder, Stallone and finally….The character of Dredd in the movie (He’s absolutel, totally unsympathetic and actively found myself not caring, or flat out rooting against him in this movie! Dredd with Urban is far more faithful and closer to what the world should be. And I could watch that ALL DAY!
@@-MrFozzy- That is interesting to hear how someone from the UK views the first Dredd movie. Most of us in the US had no idea about the comic book so we didn't judge the movie based on the work it was adapted from. I liked it as a kid, and it was interesting enough to me to influence my own art and to look for what the comics were all about. Nowadays, the movie is okay I guess but I understand now how much of a departure it was compared to the comics. I still want to read 2000 A.D. when I have the time.
+cheesealtar I know. I get that response a lot. lol. I really liked Urbans but it had many faults also. I liked Stallones but it had many faults. *shrug* just my opinion
Nice background video. I wish they had one of the making of the ABC Warrior; that was an incredible creation! I liked the scenes that showed how it operated.
Watched it again recently, Honestly a good movie despite the obvious things. The only part that irked was Dredd just killing the officers just doing their job lol.
for all the cheesyness of rob schinders comic relief, over the top acting and removing dredds helmet, its still a great movie. The things it does right look great and i like the melodrama, look and action. i mean look how good the costumes are especially the helmets...perfect. and mean machine, the abc warrior, stalones grim face, ricos acting is brilliant, the long walk speech...theres alot to like. just wish it cut the comedy and kept dredds helmet on.
I found him to be a man who truly believe in the system with everything he is he can't be bought compromised or swayed that is why he losted in the court room basically called him a liar thief to someone who literally worships devout the law
Stallone seemed to have gained some weight on some parts of the interviews (the beginning footage for example) vs when he's filming-in costume. I wonder if it's because he was done with filming, therefore allowed himself to let go a little bit (he's obviously still in better shape than 99% of the population, but perhaps not on as a strict diet/workout routine as when he's filming a movie) or was he already gaining the weight for the upcoming CopLand?
@@Constantine_IA lol getting fat for Copland. It looks like he was filming assassins the next movie after this. He made assassins, then daylight then Copland.
It was similar to Demolition Man, ironic that Sly said in Demolition Man, he said "Breaking the law", in Judge Dredd, he said "I never broke the law, i am the law" hahahaha!!!!!!
This film has its issues, sure. Its not as good as Demolition Man. But to me, this is not a bad film by any means. I like it. Its not as good as the Karl Urban one.
The 80s and 90s action movies wipe the floor with modern CGI superhero films I sorta feel sorry for kids nowadays but they have iPhones online gaming and youtube etc to counteract their shite movies so I don't.
+induxvideos That is he stupidest thing ever!!! Stallone was legendary in this movie!! Made Dredd an absolute badass!!! But Schneider was also great, I do agree on that!
+Induxvideos That is nonsense in every way!!! First of all, it didn't flop!!! Lol! Second, Stallone's name alone, almost guaranteed succes back then, whether you like him or not! He had the right voice, the right face, he WAS Judge Dredd!!! You obviously don't like him, so your opinion is clearly biased!!
this movie had great concept and i love it for that; also stalon feels way more bad ass. However, the New Dredd Movie was pretty much about drugs and mama controlling a building... how original, and to me it was a stupid cliche crap without any depth that is perfect for brainless humans.
mightyhidden The new one is just about a normal day in Mega City one and the Dredd in that one Never Took off his Helmet lol hell the Creators of Judge Dredd loved that one more than this one lol
@griz312 So when Dredd wants to take a shower, sleep or get into changing room etc. doesn’t take his helmet off... damn! That sounds very convincing lol. The only thing the 2nd movie had over the 1st movie was more blood and gore… that’s it.
mightyhidden the very beginning of the movie he is in a locker room with his helmet off you just don't see his face. The blood, gore, simple story and action is held to a higher regard.
@griz312 Dude, this new movie didn’t show shit about Judge Dredd universe, except one big building, a big mama and drugs & blood... absolutely nothing else. The first movie had so much content & context & concept that you cannot possibly push it to the side and simply forget about it. For e.g.: Cursed earth, Angel families, Aspen prison colony, The block wars, Deep meaningful story, Concept of clone vs family and so much more! And bear in mind son, the first movie came out in 1995, the time when we had blade runner and some other original movies. In my opinion, the first movie absolutely outclasses the new Dredd 2012 movie (except the blood and gore part). It’s like comparing a fine lobster feast to a pack of rotten Doritos. I highly recommend you go watch the Judge Dredd 1995 movie again, you will change your mind.
mightyhidden haha the movie didn't need to. Dredd just showed the bleak nature of Megacity One something that was absent in the Stallone's flick. Its baffling that you are saying the creators of Judge Dredd are wrong for thinking the Dredd 2012 is a better film than Stallone's. I still enjoy the Stallone flick but Dredd is by preference.
too violent movies promoting bad values. Enough. The new generations are craving for extremely violent movies, and this movie made in 95 is really about crazy people having weird dreams about a weird society runs by madmen Let's take a look at Hunger Game, a movie that it is so loved by many young folks but once again, violence in movies is overwhelming and it is destroying the mind of vulnerable people. Also, let me add this, you don't need to be that vulnerable to get disturbed by so much violence in movies.
Judge Dredd actually has some messages in the mix. Dredd starts off as a heartless, unfair authoritarian with no soul and ends up becoming more human. Griffin is a megalomaniacal fascist who tries to play God and gets his comeuppance.
This was one of my top fav movies as a 1990s kid.
Man, the memories. :)
same man
this, demolition man, pizza and pepsi
Me too. I love this movie. Saw it on a preview VHS and fell in love. So cool.
I preferred ‘Stop! Or my mom will shoot’…….seriously
This badly needs to be a featurette on DVD and Blu-ray behind the scenes making of Judge Dredd
I honestly love this movie.
One of my favourite movies.
Great thanks
Great film honestly
I m a huge fan of dredd.....mega city 4 life broooo!
Great movie
I wish i could find more footage of behind the scenes.
13:30 do you guys saw how Rob Schneider face plant to the floor. That looks painful.
Funny that they put both of them in Demolition Man as well as this.
Good movie. Was too short imo. Should have been longer, like 15+ minutes more. Why was it only like 1hr 30m?
Who would win in a fight? Judge Dredd or the Demolition Man? :P
Expendable reference before Expendables was a thing
This was a flop but at was very good world wide surprise DVD And VHS as well
MCU behind the scenes footage isn't this interesting.
I had to laugh out loud when Stallone said that the movie had "intelligent drama"
The comedy elements totally ruined this movie, it should be a dark one like the new Dredd. Such a shame.
Youknow the comics are funny as fk most of the time?
Stallone destroyed this movie and character, still love this stupid movie though
Dredd was good, this was SHIT.
In reality they in the comics mutable cities
He should of NEVER taken the helmet off
When Rob Schneider fell on his face I died laughing so hard 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes, that encompasses almost everything wrong with this movie…but glad you like it 😄
13:30 do you guys saw how Rob Schneider face plant to the floor. That looks painful.
Dredd is a fun action movie that could have been better but it is still an entertaining movie with all its flaws.
I loved this movie since it came out. I have no idea why people say it flopped, it was a great movie. entertaining & memorable for lots of people.

It’s a great movie and deserved a sequel.
The Karl Urban one was waaaaay better.
This movie is so underrated
I love this movie. Mix this and Urbans and you get the perfect film.
how dare you

I like how Judge Dredd used to be a on DC Comics, i think Dredd is the perfect addition to the roster, he's DC's very own Punisher
Omg i love this movie 2
I like this film too. But Urban's is already the perfect Dredd film.
Nice background video. I wish they had one of the making of the ABC Warrior; that was an incredible creation! I liked the scenes that showed how it operated.
Ikr i loved it as kid nostalgia
armand assante is great
"Stallone's Law" probably sums up how filming went.
Watched it again recently, Honestly a good movie despite the obvious things. The only part that irked was Dredd just killing the officers just doing their job lol.
He was mostly killing the SJS who were noted as killing innocents as well as the guilty. Remember when they killed that pilot from the shuttle crash?
Wow. The outfits were partly designed by Versace. Didnt know that.

miek99 Judge Dredd fans universal hated it. Even the guy who created it John Wagner didn't like the script and argued that the film missed the point.
its lifted straight of the Comics, this could easily be a Judge Dredd Comic strip
Ouch, that face plant at 13:31
Ikr you hear his face smack gotta love how they did more stunts back then
17:30 You haven't seen Righting Wrongs (Aka Above The Law) from 1986, starring Cynthia Rothrock and Karen Shepard then have you?
Notice how Jurgen Prochnow sounds much more German here than he does in the film. He says "Jedges" instead of "Judges".
Joan Chen is good as a villian
I found him to be a man who truly believe in the system with everything he is he can't be bought compromised or swayed that is why he losted in the court room basically called him a liar thief to someone who literally worships devout the law
Theoretically, EVERY judge in Mega-City One is a virgin. Those that aren't have breached the rules.
Great movie, i like it.
Stallone seemed to have gained some weight on some parts of the interviews (the beginning footage for example) vs when he's filming-in costume.

He was getting fat for Copland(1997)
@@Constantine_IA lol getting fat for Copland. It looks like he was filming assassins the next movie after this. He made assassins, then daylight then Copland.
I wonder how they feel about the remake?
Even the costume designer had no clue. Those were NOT leotards in the comics, those were leather's like even real life motorbike cops wear.
I loooved this movie when i was a kid. Back then I thought it was better than Demolition man. Shame on me. )))
I want to be an actor one day.
Good for you. Good luck.=)
It was similar to Demolition Man, ironic that Sly said in Demolition Man, he said "Breaking the law", in Judge Dredd, he said "I never broke the law, i am the law" hahahaha!!!!!!
Judge hershey. @3:23 Ought to be illegal for her to flick her tongue like that 🔥😛

There was some genuine talent in the cast, which makes the awfulness of the finished product all the more tragic.
The 80s and 90s action movies wipe the floor with modern CGI superhero films I sorta feel sorry for kids nowadays but they have iPhones online gaming and youtube etc to counteract their shite movies so I don't.
2:14 Is that the dude from 48 hrs???
Is this from Blu ray extras
I found it on the german DVD.
@@filmSCHOOLarchive Cool. Love featurettes on movies like this.
How do you like your steak? 🥩
RRRRAAAAAAAWWWWWWWW
You have to have LUAH...
Casting Rob Schneider was a terrible mistake.
I don't agree at all !
He was EXCELLENT...
Sly is a FUCKING LEGEND...
You won't achieve what he achieved in 45 years even if you live 1000 years...
