Big difference.
Obviously the one that has less kg's is gonna have an easier time beating the one that has more kilos, he is gonna be faster than his enemy which is a huge advantage, he can tire the fatter one easily etc.
In my opinion the only disadvantage the one with less kilos is that it's gonna be harder for him to throw the fatter one on the ground , unless he has a lot of strength in him.

The Brazilian shows unsportsmanlike conduct by celebrating before the match is over. This is not the way of true karate-do.
karate competitions here in Brazil are more aggressive, most of them allow this kind of things, wkf has forgotten the Okinawan karate

Point fighting is such a dull sport I never enjoyed it.... to busy not attacking because they are to worried about counter attacks. Still its better to watch that TKD hahah.
I am a sambist (sambo martial arts mixed from karate, judo, jiujitsu).
Taekwondo is just for acrobat & circus, not good for actual fight.

I've studied Shotokan Karate (JKA) for 18 years and am a 4th Dan black belt I am also 2nd Dan in Judo and blackbelt in TKD..... and never once did have I danced around like these twats.....I fought full contact for about 3 years but its no good for your body I now study for my own learning and never disregard any martial art...

I hate those rules. They make karate ineffective and bad habits are perpetuated. Karate should have similiar rules as K-1 but with undercuts being allowed.

Pessoal... Me desculpa, mas a WKF está acabando com o Karatê... Sem querer menosprezar o Brose, mas isso não chega à nenhuma aproximação de um Combate(Kumitê). O "Shiai Kumitê" foi desenvolvido como uma sombra e treinamento para soltar o corpo. A maioria desses Karatecas não sabem o que é uma porrada, ou uma dor. Essas duas coisas fazem parte da arte marcial para o adestramento mental para suportar nossas dificuldades tanto psicológicas, quanto físicas. E o pior é que já em 5 anos o cara já tá na faixa preta e fica batendo no peito pra se vangloriar. Tá muito Nutella esses Karatecas de hoje em dia. #Makiwara. #DiuKumitê. #KaratêTradicional. #SemMIMIMI. #SeChegarAtrasadoPaga.
shotokan sempre foi isso. quem bater primeiro, ganha ponto. realmente não é o tipo de esporte pra ficar cascudo e aguentar porrada. ultimamente, os esportes que servem mais pra esse propósito são muay thai e boxe.

so it depends on the each individual tournaments rules
Gunny Akdo i've just started 2 train karate a few months back and i'm only 16 so take this with a grain of salt but
-if you're a kid you may not hit hard
-if you're an adult you can hit preety hard on smaller turnaments
-if you're on massive televised turnaments you can't hit so hard. Aparently they have to make it look safe(so no trouble is made with the law and karate gets in the olympics faster)
P.S. there are also other styles with diffetent rules(like kyukushin)

@@IgorSilvaRocha o karatê moderno sim. Mas o Karatê mesmo surgiu em Okinawa, que hoje faz parte do Japão, mas nem sempre foi. O Karatê antes era uma arte marcial bem completa com agarrões, arremessos, técnicas de chão e etc
@@odojodecriatividade Mais ou menos, a parte boa de ter chegado ao Japão é que novas técnicas foram adicionadas, mas estilos como o Gojuryu ainda mantém a dinâmica original de Okinawa, grappling com striking e até luta de solo, em lutas Irikumi Go se percebe isso.

If you really think that kumite is just a game of tag, then I'm sorry, but you are laughably wrong. It requires technique, speed and quick thinking.
You will always find boring matches in every sport. You cherry-picking.
Karate, along with skateboarding, surfing, baseball and climbing, has been officially approved for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
+Albert Caballero kyukoshin, is completely different, it's slow and close together. A shotokan kumite competitor could easily take them on.
Imo, all these shitty rules especially the full body contact removed were just to tickle the stupid Olympics wannabes idea which will guide sports Karate the Olympics Fencing way - empty halls, no attraction, media coverage mainly in the background, and world unknown champions that no one knows except their coaches and clubs. Karate as a martial art is great enough and doesn't need any Olympics rules that make it look ineffective and boring.

That includes basically every combat sport such as boxing, wrestling, BJJ, judo, taekwondo, muay thai, kickboxing, real karate, and others.

With all my respect, I can't understand point fighting, let these guys fight 3X3 rounds in full contact, they'll find out after the first round how ineffective their punches and kicks are. Let these guys punch the makiwara 300 times with each hand then move to the sand bag for 3 minutes without a break then push ups on the knuckels. I'm a Kyokushinkai black belt and WTF Tae-Kwon-Do and won several competitions, but these guys here...sorry. Oss!
Oss, se entiende que las técnicas sean ineficaces pero es porque están transformadas al reglamento de la wkf para que sean puntuables, pero el karate-do tradicional es increíblemente efectivo si se entrena bien
