Just posted the ride video we went on. Thanks for taking the time to do the review. I didn’t know I had the camera running when you test road the Snapcycle and stuck that footage in the new video. I’d love to hear what you think about the Aventon vs the Snapcycle.
at 4:11 did you guys try to install that socket head bolt for the rack with a rasp? How did all that scratching occur/ did it come out of the box that way?. Seems like a decent bike but I don't want to receive a jalopy out of the box either.
Actually the bike came completely flawless. I’m super embarrassed about those scratches, but you’ll see in future videos how I blew a flat on my first filming and took the rear wheel off and had the bike propped using a walker to keep the back end elevated when I should’ve flipped the bike over (which I did later). While fixing the flat the back end rack area scraped against the wall when I was moving it. I really should’ve mentioned that during the video review but didn’t want to bring attention to the fact that I had a flat until I made my Tannus liner install video that’s coming soon. The damage was all me. :(
Snapcycle asks that you contact them directly. They have really good customer service and will reply back to you with the instructions. The change to class 3 is not something they publish publicly.
Thanks for this review, I am about to buy two ebikes and have narrowed it down to the Snapcycle R1 and the Magicycle. The only reason I wouldn't get the snapcycle is the throttle only is limited to 20mph where the Magicycle seems to go to max speed with throttle only. Do you think this matters in real world riding. My wife and I prefer the snapcycle looks and the company has been great responding to my questions. Thanks!
For me personally, I’ve found that the extra few miles an hour with throttle only doesn’t make a big difference enough to where I would miss it. Since they are cadence sensor ebikes, it doesn’t take much to turn the pedals a little to get the Snapcycle to get higher speeds. The magicycle’s 52v battery can really be felt when starting off from a dead stop, but the Snapcycle is no slouch and has a smooth acceleration that is sometimes preferred by riders who might be a little uncomfortable with too much power for them to control. The big benefit of the Snapcycle R1 step-thru is how low the step over is. My older friends both love how easy it is to get on and off and they don’t feel as though they are missing any power vs the magicycle. Both are fantastic ebikes, but depending on the kind of rider you are, one definitely has benefits over the other. Both companies have great customer service from my experience. By the way, the Snapcycle will push up to 24 mph on throttle alone and slowly pull back to 20mph. It’s a nice feature so you don’t feel it just cut out at 20 like other ebikes.
@@EbikeProducts Thanks for the great response! I really appreciate the feedback. It's so hard to choose one of these bicycles without being able to sit on them or see how they will fit your body type. I am 6 ft 3 and 185 lb and I'm nervous that I'm going to be too tall for all of these bikes. The Magic cycle looks like it has nice high handlebars where the snap cycle looks like they're a little more like a mountain bike. Keep up the great reviews this was very helpful to me!
Are you talking about aventon adventure? If so it only has a front shock.I like the aventure also but don’t like that it has a thumb throttle and when using that throttle only it tops out at 20mph.My little lectric xp will do 25 mph throttle only.
My bad. I thought it was a typo. I just just out that ebike company. It is really nice looking full suspension ebike. So many companies popping up just since last year when I bought my ebike.
Well. I would say you need to be very careful with what you are buying, if the manufacturer does not specify what battery cells they are using. You may check out this video on youtube: ruclips.net/video/qMZuHMlRw_0/видео.html
I haven’t had the pleasure of riding a Himiway, but based on the tons of reviews I’ve watched and read on the Himiway Cruisers, I think it something you should keep. Although I love the Snapcycle a ton, I think the Himiway will have a much more powerful acceleration based on what others say about how it ‘lurched’ hard at the start. My Blackbird does the same, and I found the I like smoother starts like the way the Snapcycle does. Also, the Himiway has a bigger battery and I hear they will be raising their price soon so you have a great ebike and for a great price and longer range. I would only tell someone t consider the Snapcycle if they are shorter, not as experienced, and want a smoother starting ebike that looks really sleek and don’t plan to do extra long trips. The size and design of the Snapcycle makes for easier riding and getting on and off, but also more control on the power so it won’t be as intimidating and takes a little less effort to ride. Hope this helps!
Nice review but based on what I see in your video and the specs and videos of the MAGICYCLE, PRICE wise, specs, ACCESSORIES ( colored display, lights and looks), the MAGICYCLE is much more better than this. MAGICYCLE will be shipped out soon and I will just waiting for the actual review of that e-bike. With the price difference of $200-$300 and a little more better, the MAGICYCLE IS WORTH THE WAIT. Thanks
You have way, more than way oversold this bike. I am sure that even the company would not ask you to praise it the way you did because it turns buyers off!
Thank you for the feedback. I really appreciate it. The Snapcycle R1 step-thru is one of the best ebikes I’ve ridden. If I had an ebike store, I’d bring in the R1’s to sell. I love it so much, I’ve decided to sell my Bolton Blackbird and will be keeping the Snapcycle. As much as I love the Blackbird for its power, it’s just a bit too big for me that I find myself grabbing the Snapcycle or Lectric XP more often on most of my rides due to the extra effort it takes to ride Blackbird it’s just not as relaxing and makes me more tired. I’m not as young as I think I am, lol. For me, the Snapcycle is powerful enough and extremely comfortable for my height, and that may have over excited me. People my size have a hard time finding full size fat tire 26” ebikes that fit really well. I’ve rented a 2020 Radrover step-thru and that was still not comfortable enough for my height and so underpowered I was very disappointed. I am putting together a bunch of ride testing clips on the Snapcycle to show the speed and power because I think this bike is a great value for the power and comfort you get with it. I hope I don’t turn anyone off with that video and will try to stick to letting the stats speak for itself. Thanks again for taking the time to comment and for sharing your thoughts. It helps me a ton to know what viewers are thinking.
I have just ordered an R1 and look forward to my first ride. Your video was very informative and well done. Nice work, thanks.
Your reviews are great, in-depth, good job.
Thanks! I appreciate that!
Woo! This was the best bike of the ride for sure! I'm wanting to head over to the in-laws and ride the Aventon Aventure to see how it compares.

Good job, Chris. Seems approximately priced, but they should have integrated the tail light. Can’t wait for the Magicycle review. Hope it is soon.
Great looking bike. Thanks for the review.
Appreciate your comment!
How do I unlock 30mph

How do I configurate my class 2 e-bike to class 3 with the snap cycle r1

Really nice looking bike! Also love the power and that it comes with a twist throttle! I just wished they came in more fun colors!
Different colors would def be fun!
sounds interesting, i look forward to future videos with reflections on what you have been experiencing.
Thanks for the feedback!
What kind of range were you getting out of that battery

SNAPCYCLE R1 STEP THRU SUPER SLEEK 750WATT (1200PEAK ) FAT TIRE ELECTRIC BIK---
It's let down by the rear sprocket being 14-28 instead of a 11-32 to stop pedaling out at speed.
