I just re powered this 318 with a 23 hp vanguard. I might have to re gear the blower now. It seams like the new pulley is smaller or the groove is wider, it doesn't blow as far now. Lots of power, the vanguard does not lug down.

how wide is the rubber belting modification to the impellers and how thick is it

It’s the width of the impeller, I believe it is 1/4 inch thick

Does your 318 have a float option / float handle or is it just 2 ...left & right + up and down.

It is just H2 up and down, but the forward (down) position does allow the blower to float
