I never heard this perfect piccolo playing! Everybody who says that the sound of piccolo is ugly and bad I would show this to them. Yea, it's ear-rapeing sometimes, but dang, thats beautiful!
the composition is pure magic.. and Ericas piccolo is the wand that welds it. Brilliant!

Oh my God this is gorgeous. The piccolo playing sounds like a song bird and those high notes are soul-piercing. Props to the player, props to the composer.
Every time I see your videos pop up on my recommended I always think “there’s no way he can keep making such angelic music. There’s just no way” but here you are once again. You really are incredible. And the crazy thing is that the music always reminds me so much of its title. Wonderful!❤️👏🏻

I accidentally stumbled on this and "Birds" not even searching for classical or arranged music, and omg i'm blown away! As a flautist, i'm a now a huge fan!!!!!! Has a very fantastical element and so wonderfully arranged, it really evokes just like the Planets.
We have the same story haha. I got recommended "Birds" and decided to check the rest!

Callum Hold Technically it is a note flute can play, I’m not sure if pic could play it (and who’d wanna play it). Typically it’s not seen in songs and it’s more college level
Being from Europe, I have to say it's very refreshing with a more conventional approach to harmony and structure. I Digg it!

This combination works well together, the piccolo can contrast and stand its own with the piano.
Always nice to find a fellow classical composer who makes pleasant sounding music BTW, feels a bit like spotting a unicorn.
Needed a piccolo solo for solo and ensemble and my lord, this didn't disappoint! Just bought the part, I'm super excited to play it this year!

To the composer - Amazing. Of course D minor is the perfect key. I was thinking it didn't sound very hard - then the end came. This is a very cool contest/recital piece. Beautiful use of the piccolo's voice, which few people know how to use. You really made use of the "wood register."
To the piccolo player - Wow. Incredible control. I'm amazed at the diminuendo on the high D. The intonations throughout. Very good playing.

I wonder about the bar 246 : is it possible to play the highest D with a Piccolo ?
@@mercedes8482 thanks for the reponse can you please tell me what fongering do you use ( on Piccolo.) ( so without the usual key on the feet of the C flute)
As a piccolo player, I’d say no, the instrument is not built for higher notes than C. But I could be wrong ! I have this sheet and it’s not written with the octave thing

Yea, I agree.
Nathan Richardson considering they are written by the same person, it does make sense. Most composers typically have a certain style that you are able to hear in their pieces.
@@brooklynnotfromny7895 I guess Mozart is a really good example of that. His style is the exact same in all 5 violin concertos, for example.
