I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that Scarlet Pearl was 100% Martyn’s fault. He asked her to come to the Nether(an accident, tbf) but also left her immediately after their soulmates left them, acting like it was her fault.
And he attacked her when it was just them left. Which is probably how Pearl won. If they had waited for Scott to come back Pearl wouldn’t have had someone to heal for her, and it would have been more likely that Scott and Cleo would have pulled something weird, given that they were chosen soulmates.

Martyn and Cleo turned on Scott first just after Pearl kills Impulse and Bdubs. Scott gets away and they find and attack Pearl, so no Cleo in the end decided to win with Martyn not Scott.

I was putting my bets on Cleo and Scott either suiciding (causing a funny calamity where literally all of us starts fighting over who really won) or have their paired-life's get together like in season3ep1 and use leverage or something to have things their way against Martyn and Pearl's own plans. if they had enough time to have resolved their issues and can't fight each other Scott would have killed himself and the remaining three would immediately died winning. but of course season3ep6 is the best ending out of the entire lifeseriessmp with Pearl pulling herself out of all kinds of quagmires while never being free from Scott's mercy.

Double life is the first of the short SMPs I ever watched, and I started with Pearl's videos. It was a rollercoaster of drama so fast, and this captures the whole series so beautifully.

Oh my gosh this artstyle is so pretty!! Love the use of color in the lineart- and even in the sketchier parts where each character is still distinct in their designs and body language!! Lovely work
