Never heard of them but if I ever come across one, I'll have a go and let you know if I agree! What sort of prices are they though? There will be a ton of better sounding guitars but it is relative to price right
Hi Levon. I ended up replacing the wooden pegs for Wittner pegs because the Wittner pegs have a more reliable tuning. However, I do still think that wooden pegs are reliable in everyday use. There are guitars that are decades old that have held up well with wooden pegs. Some people say that the turning of the wooden peg will grind away the wood on the inside of the hole of the headstock. I haven't really ever seen this though, and again, there are decades old guitars with wooden pegs that still play fantastically. Hope this is helpful.
How did you like this guitar? I bought a guitar by the label of Victor Bona which is made in exactly the same shop your guitar was made. Juan Montes and Victor Bona both work off of the same shop. I did talk with FLwaves prior to buying the Victor Bona and most likely I'll end up buying a guitar from them at some point. Here is the video of actual guitar I bought ruclips.net/video/ubbDjaSC2rI/видео.html. What are your thoughts on the sound?
Thanks a lot for sharing this info, I actually didn't know that about Victor Bona and Juan Montes. I have been very interesting in trying a Victor Bona guitar. Listening to that guitar, my immediate thoughts were that it lacks a lot of punch and responsiveness.... but I felt that was probably more down to the strings than the guitar itself, like the guitar was strung with normal tension strings (when ideally, you want high tension flamenco strings). Then I saw in the comments section that the uploader mentioned these are Savarez strings, which makes sense... really just a subjective thing for me but I am not fond of the sound of Savarez strings. Anyway! Regardless of the strings, I do like the sound of this guitar; good volume and roundness to the sound, it has the characteristic flamenco rasp and growl when you push the guitar. How much did it cost you?
@@FrancisGrant1I paid $995.00. They described it as a guitar for advanced and professional levels; I am neither of the two but thought it'd be a good guitar. I did change the Savarez strings with Daddario carbon high tension. I came to know about Victor Bona and Juan Montes because I talked with them before making a decision.
@@FrancisGrant1 Sorry, I replied from my phone and the reply went in from Tools And I but it still me. I am looking at buying a flamenco negra from Álvarez&Bernal. I am specifically interested in his Flamenco Pro FL model from his luthier series which is offered in different combinations of wood.
@@BPTVch Sorry for some reason RUclips never notified me that you had replied!! Yes you will certainly get a better sound by changing the strings to the D'Addario high tension. Guitars from Alvarez & Bernal are really top notch guitars, huge reputation - let me know how you get on?
Hi Shasba, it was OK for me but you are welcome to your opinion - thanks for commenting. I have had a number of friends who had Juan Montes guitars shipped to them in this manner and they have never experienced any issues, thankfully.
That looks proper nice. I was never sure though if I liked the look of peg tuners or not . I'm looking forward to the video of what it sounds like.
Thanks for sharing, Francis--I'v been in the market for a both a Spanish and Flamenco guitar.

Wooden pegs reliable in everyday use? There any changes over time?

I agree! Honestly, if I picked up this guitar in a store and I knew nothing about it... I would assume that it was about double this price.

Horribly shipped. Should have been in a proper guitar box , supported and Isolated from the inside edges of said box.
