Those are for kerosene lamps! They became very popular Victorian era, those have an Eastlake look to them! How funny the way that set came together!

Ours came from an old schoolhouse my parents purchased. Most old buildings used this type of lighting prior to being electrified. You can find the glass kerosene lamps in addition to the wicks & chimneys in Amish stores and similar stores.

Linda, wow all the treasures. Take the round wheel iron and use it in landscaping.
I put a sundial in the center of one and then filled with old bricks. Also on the night seat springs. Just add a wood seat bottom and back, would look great in your garden. You are preserving more pieces of Sugarwood!

It’s Amazing you found the missing pieces for the bracket, truly amazing! Digging for treasures is right down my alley and you’ve found some great pieces. I treasure hunt our family farm/property every chance I get. It’s two hours away from where I live but my sisters and I still own the farmhouse that is filled with beautiful family memories as well as furniture, childhood toys, etc. We recently had a new roof put on to protect it for years to come.

What a treasure trove of items on your property. I am a midwesterner who lived in MA years ago and loved the area so much. I purchased 2 candle holders, very similar to yours, at a yard sale. I have dragged them out to use in the outdoor space as a plant display. Enjoy your videos from inside decor, outside garden, sightseeing to cooking…so varied. I call them nylons. Thank you for your channel.

    1. OMG the brackets and the candleholders!!! Come'on how crazy is that! 2. My mother called them stockings - my generations called them nylons (because there was not a panty attached), then they were pantyhose - now no one under 50 wears them!! Go figure. 3. Bittersweet is illegal to pick in Michigan (unless you are lucky enough to have it growing on your own property). I love to cut it and use it for fall decor. 4. Glad you are recovering well from surgery. Your new property is wonderful. I have 140 acres in Mid-Michigan (10 acres of woods) that I love to stroll through. 5. I love the 'finds' from ages past that are buried or hidden in the attic eaves (mine are from my great-great grandparents that bought this farm. You and I are truly blessed!

You have an entire museum of history right in your own back yard! I can picture a large glass vase in your home with the broken chards of glass from your back yard. That would be so pretty with the sunlight catching the broken glass! Also, I've seen some woodland gardens where they take the fallen trees and line the paths in the woods. It looks so pretty and allows visitors to walk through the paths, enjoying nature. I can also envision vignettes of your found treasures along the pathways, such as the wheels. I love the blue glass bottles you found! How cool that your daughter is using the treasures to make jewelry. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the hidden treasures!!

    Jordan Marsh Blueberry Muffins........!
When I was a young girl, growing up in Boston, my mother would take us down to Downtown Crossing where Jordan Marsh and Filene’s had their stores. We would shop for hours, and our reward was always a trip to the Jordan Marsh cafe, for blueberry muffins. Such a flood of memories upon your mention of them.
Also.....blown away by the coincidence (?) of your wall sconce find. That is nuts!

Finding the missing bracket....amazing!!! I loved walking with you in the woods. I grew up practically living in the woods around my parent's house. It instilled in me a deep love and appreciation for nature. Also, I appreciate your music selections. Perfect choices for your calming videos.

What an amazing find! I can't wait to see what you do with it. Your property & home are georgous & it's fun watching how you are transforming to make it yours. I love old things & New England history. I always dreamed of having an old house one day but the years have flown by. I would love to explore your dump areas so yes please show us new finds. Linda you are a charming & elegant lady, an old soul and we've lost that. I appreciate your blog to reminisce about things past. People today don't even know how to set a proper table, it's becoming a lost art. Stay just the way you are. Give Willow a kiss for me, she's adorable.
