  • Have you ever heard that we should not be “Under the Law?” What does that mean?
What was Paul referring to in Romans 6 when he tells us that we are no longer under law but under grace?

I told a friend that I wanted to start going to church on the Sabbath (Saturday) and she responded with something about me feeling condemnation...as if I am trying to live 'under the law'. I told her my Father went to church on Saturday and I want to follow Him. So according to this video, I am on the right track, in obeying Jesus, right?

Shannon, The Sabbath was for Jews as the feasts. When Jesus came on the scene he fulfilled the law. One day God will save all of Israel, but unfortunately they have to go through the tribulation unless they are Christian Jews. Colossians 2:16 states explicitly to not let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink and that nobody should ever be condemned for the DAY they worship Christ, either. Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. Col 2:16. When Jesus died, rose again, and ascended the Holy Spirit could enter man. The Holy Spirit always points the believer to Jesus who fulfilled the laws for us because we can't. Sunday is the day Jesus Resurrected so the church gathers on that day. Sabbath was for Jews. We have no means to keep the Sabbath Holy except through Christ. We can't "do" anything to keep laws, go back to feasts that were for Jews is taking your eyes off the finished work of Jesus. Notice that these false movements want to feed the ego of Doing Something rather than simple faith in Christ. Look Christ paid for everything, we do not need to perform any Old testament Jewish requirements made to Israel by God for a season. The Jewish people were judged by God for turning from him and dispersed in 70AD God brought the back as a Jewish state in 1948. He told us through the prophets that Israel would be born in a day and it was. Now we wait for the rapture! God said the generation that sees Israel reborn will be the generation that lives to see him return in the clouds to meet him in the air!

We should worship God everyday, furthermore, whether we go to church on Sunday or Saturday is not the issue, because that is not how you keep the Sabbath, you keep it by resting from all your labor on it. The true issue is about profaning the Sabbath by working on it, then proceeding to observe Sunday as if it's some sort of holy day.
The Sabbath is Exclusive To Jews
(Mar 2:27 LSB) “And Jesus was saying to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.”
The Sabbath is for mankind, so to say that it's Exclusive To Isreal is false.
      Jesus fulfilled the Law
(Matthew 5:17-18 LSB) “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished
The Greek word for 'fulfill' means to execute, make full, fully preach or express. The Greek word for 'accomplished' means to come to or be brought to pass. So then until heaven and earth pass away, not a mark will be passing away from the Law.
(Matthew 5:19 LSB) Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
So then anyone who profanes the Sabbath and dares to teach others to do the same is least likely to enter into the kingdom of heaven.

As for Col 2, it must be read with context.
(Colossians 2:8 BSB) See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ.
Telling a believer that they should still keep the Sabbath holy is not an attempt to mislead them through philosophy and vain deceit, based on human tradition and spiritual forces of the world.
(Colossians 2:18-23 LSB) Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self-abasement and the worship of the angels, going into detail about visions he has seen, being puffed up for nothing by his fleshly mind, and not holding fast to the head, from whom the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God. If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees: “Do not handle, nor taste, nor touch”? Which deal with everything destined to perish with use, which are in accordance with the commands and teachings of men; which are matters having, to be sure, a word of wisdom in self-made religion and self-abasement and severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against fleshly indulgence.
There were some ascetics (pagans, not believers) who were judging the colossian believers for their manner of keeping the Feasts (which includes the new moons and the Sabbath), and were imposing their own commands such as; do not handle, nor taste, nor touch, which concern things that are destined to perish with use. Followed by teachings having to do with self-abasement and severe treatment of the body, but of no value against fleshly indulgence.
      Colossians 2:9-15 LSB
For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells bodily, and in Him you have been filled, who is the head over all rule and authority; in whom you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And you being dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive with Him, having graciously forgiven us all our transgressions. Having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us which was hostile to us, He also has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them (the spiritual forces of the world) in Him.
Paul is saying that those who have been born of water and the Spirit, have had their old sinful natures, put off, put to death and buried, while they themselves have rose again from the dead, freed from the debt they owed for the sins which they have previously committed, as they were canceled out and nailed to the cross.
(Col 2:16-17, AFV) “Therefore, do not allow anyone to judge you in eating or in drinking, or with regard to a Feast, or new moon, or the Sabbaths, Which are a foreshadow of the things that are coming, but the body of Christ.”
Here, Paul is telling the Colossian believers to let the body of Christ (the church) judge them in their manner of eating and drinking when keeping the Feasts of the LORD, instead of pagans who do not hold fast to the Head (Christ), as they are shadows of what is to come. The 7th day Sabbath being a foreshadowing of the 1000 year rest that is soon to come.

@@shadstrom6272 Sorry, but you are wrong on so many fronts. This is the exact same response I would have had (the one you gave) last year so I can relate to your reasoning but it simply isn’t biblically correct. The church has taught this for such a long time that we hear it and just take it as the truth without even testing it anymore.
I’ll kindly point you to some topics to study and test for yourself because I was in the same boat and didn’t even know I was walking in error until our Heavenly Father graciously opened my eyes to this.
-The Sabbath was not for the Jews, it is for Israel…for a perpetual covenant (Exodus 31:13, 16-17, Ezekiel 20: 12, 20). Look up the word perpetual in Hebrew using the Strong’s Concordance.
-Originally, they were the Israelites/Kingdom of Israel but now they are referred to as the Jews…why?
-1 Kings 12 and 2 Chronicles 10 records Israel splitting into two kingdoms
-Also, what happened to Israel (the Northern kingdom) after they were exiled (Jer 3:8; Deut 28:64; Ezekiel 22:15,16; Psalm:106:27) and what was God’s promise to them (Deut 30:1-6; Amos 9:8,9; Isaiah 5:26)
-We don’t go to church on Sunday because it’s the day He rose from the dead, we go to church on Sunday because the Roman Catholic church CHANGED the day of rest to Sunday in order to worship the “venerable day of the sun” as Emperor Constantine notes in his edict in the year 321 AD (This is easy to find on the internet).
Lastly, I just want to say that God does not change (Mal 3:6), His words become “law” once they are spoken and are everlasting (Psalm 119:160), and the Father and the Son are one (John 17:21), therefore, having the same doctrine (John 7:16).
If you truly want to find truth I am confident you will study these Scriptures for yourself and if done in complete submission to the Holy Spirit, will find that truly our father’s have inherited lies (Jeremiah 16:19).
I would also be more than happy to study with you along the way. Grace and peace!

Yes, you're on the right track.
People take Paul out of context and twist it to excuse themselves from obeying God.
Paul actually taught commandment keeping and good works, an more importantly, Jesus did too.
It's common sense, when one person says to obey God, and another says you don't need to, which is actually speaking God's word ?

Rom 6:14 For sin SHALL NOT have dominion over you: for ye are NOT UNDER the law, but UNDER grace.
Rom 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not UNDER the law, but UNDER grace? God forbid.
Rom 7:22 For I delight in THE LAW OF GOD after the INWARD MAN:
Rom 7:23 But I see ANOTHER LAW(the carnal law of sin)in my members, warring AGAINST THE LAW OF MY MIND(Rom 7:22) and bringing me into captivity to THE LAW OF SIN which is in my members.
Rom 6:14 commanded you to NOT let the SIN to have DOMINION over you to put yourself again UNDER the Law OF SIN(Rom 7:22,23).
Are you sure that you will obey Rom 6:14 so that are never sinning after Galatians 2:20 1John 3:9 1John 5:18 so that you will never let the sin to have dominion over you to never put yourself UNDER the LAW OF SIN so that you will make as possible to be UNDER grace ?.
And so is clearly that calling yourself AS SINNER you cannot see yourself as being UNDER grace.
All these verses make totally clearly that you can be UNDER AGRACE only so long time you will NOT let the SIN to have domination over you, because SINNING you put yourself UNDER the law of sin.
The whole CHRISTianity are deluded by demons to see the as LAW OF SIN reading verses about the LAW of God given beginning with Exodus 24:12 in 40 days journey WITH God to know all about Jesus as Sanctuary(John 2:21 Colos 2:2,3) given so that following Him we will be sanctuaries(1Cor 6:19 1Cor 3:16 2Thes 2:3,4 Colos 1:27).
Hopefully you will do your best to understand all these verses so that the Law of God made of more than 600 laws of the Sanctuary you will never see as LAW of sin so that obeying Jesus in John 6:44,45 you will have in Galatians 3:24 Father’s Law given beginning with Exodus 24:12 so that after fulfilment of Galatians 2:20 1John 3:9 1John 5:18 with the HELP of the Law you will KEEP God’s original 10 COMMANDMENTS Exodus 20 to be IDentified in Rev 14:12 Colos 1:26 as SAINT receiving God’s MYSTERY called Christ(Colos 2:2,3 John 2:21) being God’s sanctuary(1Cor 6:19 1Cor 3:16) so that in 2Thes 2:3,4 Rev 12:17 Rev 13:15 Rev 16:16 2Thes 1:10 you will END successfully the Armageddon started in heaven against Sanctuary(Ezec 28:18 2Peter 2:4 Rev 12:7) breaking their eternally state of REST in obedience RESISTING against God.

Even _if_ the law that Paul is referring to in this verse of his epistle to the Romans is the Mosaic Law, it wouldn't change the fact that the Mosaic Law is still relevant in the New Covenant; what Paul means when he says that believers in Jesus are not under the law, is that believers are not bound by the consequences of disobeying the Mosaic Law. No matter how you slice it, Paul is _not_ abrogating the Mosaic Law.

I grew up believing that Jesus saved me but I had to work like a dog to stay saved. As soon as I start to focus on keeping the feasts, 513 laws, etc, I immediately start to feel like GOD hates me because I will never keep all of them. Suddenly the beautiful peace that I had as I thought about Jesus and what He did for me is GONE and all I can think about is the condemnation.
I understand why so many of your people move on to Judaism eventually concluding that Christ is unnecessary.
Grace is a natural desire to keep the law by focusing on Jesus. Focusing on the law to keep it is death.

It is quite strange that you share this, because I had the exact opposite experience. As a young believer I repented of walking contrary to God's laws and I immediately had a desire to obey His commandments. I didnt know much and began to read and learn... soon the churches began teaching that we dont actually keep His law (Torah), and that we are under grace... some even went as far as believing they could do anything and still be saved. Many looked just like the world and many who, once showed a passion and Zeal for Jesus, are today living as if they dont know Him and dont want to even talk about Jesus or the Bible. I soon felt my love and desire for Him diminishing....
in Math24 we read that because of lawlessness, the love of many will grow cold... i remember praying to our Father and asking Him to help me understand and know the truth. When I then began to read Jesus's teachings and example, i realised that He taught us to walk in obedience just like Him. I bagan to learn the Torah and very quickly my passion and zeal grew stronger to love Him and know Him. I have grown so much more in 2 years then I did in all 16 years as a believer. My wife and children have grown so much deeper in Him as well, it is awsome to see. PRAISE YAH🙌. Even my relationship with my wife has grown stronger.
Friend, I am sorry that you experienced the opposite, but may the Most High continue to bless you and keep you as He leads you on your journey with Him.

I think misunderstands the meaning of "under law". I don't think it means "supposed to keep the law". It means "under the authority of the law to condemn". When you break a law, you are now under it, because you have given it authority over you. We are no longer "under law" (under the power of the law to condemn), but "under grace" (released from condemnation by the grace of God). We are still to keep the Law because it is God's standard of righteousness for all people, but we are no longer under law because we are no longer law-breakers or lawless ones.

For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness; Genesis15:6

But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
    even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction;
    Romans 5:17
For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ
We cease from the works of the law, but trust that Jesus is able to present us spotless and without blame. (Romans 4:5
But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness)
He who follows the law for salvation, will fail. No one has ever been able to keep the law, except Jesus, James 2:10
“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”

All laws ; commandments , instructions ; which includes all covenants are moral , and holy , and they come from the Father : The sin sacrifice laws he gave the mediators comes from the Father , and they are holy and moral . The God of Israel is a holy , righteous God , and everything he say is holy and righteous . The laws through the mediators are sin sacrifice laws under the mediator of the covenant of the Father . The mediators operate under a priesthood ( priesthood of Melchisedec and the priesthood of Leviticus ) ; which is the recovery for the one's who have transgressed against the Father's laws . Jesus Christ has many names , and he has been around from everlasting to everlasting ( Micah 5:2 , " But thou , Bethlehem Ephratah , though thou be little among the thousands of Judah , yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel ; whose goings forth have been from of old , from everlasting " ) ; At the time of Abraham , one of his names were Melchisedec , king of Salem , priest of the Most High God , the priesthood of faith ( Romans 10:17 , '" So then faith comes by hearing , and hearing by the word of God ) ; this is why Jesus Christ said this : John 5:39 , " Search the scriptures ; for in them ye think ye have eternal life : and they are they which testiffy of me " . The mediators cannot change the laws of the Father ; they intercede for the people through a sacrificial law ( animal sacrifice and oblations through works ; which the law of Moses is used , because it went through the mediator Moses ) ; ( the blood of Jesus Christ through faith ; which the law of Christ is used because it went through the mediator Jesus Christ ) . The animal sacrifice of the Leviticus priesthood , through the mediator Moses came because the children of Israel refused to live by faith , after they went into a covenant with the God of Israel ; which was God's way to keep from killing their flesh/body , when they violated the Laws of the God of Israel ; but it could not forgive them of the sins of the heart/mind/spirit ; which must be clean to dwell with God . The law of faith of the priesthood of Melchisedec , through the mediator Jesus has been around from the beginning ; remember , Jesus name at the time of Abraham is Melchisedec , the priest of The Most High God . The God of Israel has always showed grace by faith ; which all the men and women understood in Hebrews 11 ; that is why they all died in faith ( Abel , Enoch , Noah , Abraham , Sarah ) ; Which requires you to repent of your sins with a sorrowful heart and believe by obedience in your mediator of faith ( Melchisedec at Abraham and king David time , and Jesus Christ at our time ; which gives you the same laws of the Father ) . One of the first things that Jesus said as he begin his ministry was : Mark 1:14-15 , " Now after John was put in prison , Jesus came into Galilee , preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God , And saying , The time is fulfilled , and the kingdom of God is at hand : repent ye , and believe the gospel " . The laws of the Father does not change , the change was through the mediators , or the sin sacrifices ( Hebrews 7:11-17 , " If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood , ( for under it the people received the law , ) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec , and not be called after the order of Aaron ? For the priesthood being changed , there is made of necessity a change also of the law . For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe , of which no man gave attendance at the altar . For it is evident that our LORD sprang out of Juda ; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood . And it is yet far more evident : for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest , Who is made , not after the law of a carnal commandment , but after the power of an endless life . For he testifieth , Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec " ) . In Romans 5:12-14 , " Wherefore , as by one man sin entered into the world , and death by sin ; and so death passed upon all men , for that all have sinned : ( For until the law sin was in the world : but sin is not imputed when there is no law . Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses , even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression , who is the figure of him that was to come " . What is sin ? Answer , 1 John 3:4 , " Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law : for sin is the transgression of the law " . In Romans 5:13 , Paul says : " For until the law ! What law is he talking about ? In Romans 3:27-28 , " Paul states this : Where is boasting then ? It is excluded . By what law ? of works ? Nay : but by the law of faith . Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law " . The law of works and the law of faith are sin sacifice laws when you transgress against the laws of the Father ; which Paul states to Timothy as in 2 Timothy 3:15-17 , " And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures , which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus . All scripture is given by inspiration of God , and is profitable for doctrine , for reproof , for correction , for instruction in righteousness : That the man of God may be perfect , throughly furnished unto all good works " . Paul states in Romans 5:13 , " For until the law sin was in the world ; we know that sin is the transgression of the law of God by going to 1 John 3:4 , and it came into the world when Adam transgressed against the law of God ; So this law is not the instructions in righteousness in 2 Timothy , but a sin sacrifice law . Jesus Christ was called Melchisedec when he met Abraham in Genesis 14:18-20 , and Melchisedec is the priesthood of faith ( repenting of your sins with a sorrowful heart and believing by obeying the laws of the priesthood of faith ; which are the same laws of the Father ) ; but sin is not imputed when there is no law ( Imputed means : represent something undersirable as being done , caused , or possessed by someone ) . Now let's put it together : Romans 5:13-14 , " For until the law ( law of animal sacrifice through the mediator Moses ) sin ( which the transgression of the law of God ) was in the world ( which came into the world at the transgression of Adam - Genesis 2:15-17 ) : but sin ( which is the ttansgression of the law of God ) is not imputed ( represent something undersirable as being done , caused , or possesed by someone ) when there is no law ( law of animal sacrifice ) . For until the law of animal sacrifice of judgment , which came through the mediator Moses , the God of Israel required all men to live by faith ( which is repenting of their sins with a sorrowful heart , and believing by obedience ) ; through the law of animal sacrifice of the Leviticus priesthood ; you have something on the records books ; which must be carried out ; which is not by grace or mercy ; which comes through the priesthood of Melchisedec . Under the priesthood of Leviticus , there was no recovery for the body for violating some of the laws of God . Finally , Jesus Christ is a prophet like until Moses ; and as Moses he gave the laws of the Father ; and like Moses , the sin sacrifice comes through a priesthood : Moses through works for the flesh/body ; and Jesus Christ through faith for the heart/mind/spirit ; which is required to be accepted by the Father . This is what Moses said about the prophet Christ : Deuteronomy 18:15-19 , " The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee , of thy brethren , like unto me ; unto him ye shall hearken ; According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly , saying , Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God , neither let me see this great fire anymore , that I die not . And the LORD said unto me , They have well spoken that which they have spoken . I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren , like unto thee , and I will put my words in his mouth ; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him . And it shall come to pass , that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name , I will require it of him " ( All that was desiredst at Horeb or Mount Sinai was the ten commandments , statutes and judgments ; which includes all the covenants ) . Jesus Christ himself said in John 12:44-50 , that he came to give the words of the Father , and if you believe not the words that he speaks , the same words will judge you in the last day = the white throne judgement . Shalom !

Rom 6:14 For sin SHALL NOT have dominion over you: for ye are NOT UNDER the law, but UNDER grace.

Romans 6:14 is simple to understand, but mans theology has complicated it, which causes many to confuse the law with the law. The law we're no longer under is the Mosaic Law (the keeping of ordinances by animal sacrifices), which was God's grace then for breaking the Ten Commandments (TC). The TC is that law we are still under, which Christ came not to destroy but to fulfill (influence). The TC and the Mosaic Law are two separate laws. What is grace then? Grace is His Divine influence upon the heart of the sinner, the reflection in the life of the believer that pertains to His testimony (life, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension). The purpose of His testimony is to move the sinner's heart to confess and repent of their sins with godly sorrow to the keeping of the TC; that when we hear and believe in His testimony, which is His grace (that the Son of God became flesh and died for you and I), when we confess and repent of our sins with godly sorrow then God which knows the hearts bares them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, Who empowers us to walk after and keep the TC, which is that law we are to strive after and keep. The problem is that many have been incorrectly taught what grace really is, which has been redefined it to mean something it's not, which deceives many to think they are something they are not...born again.

@@119Ministries: Thank you for forwarding that video. I agree that the Law of God and the Law of Moses are the same. What I don't agree with concerns the Mosaic Law. As I see it, the Mosaic Law refers to the keeping of ordinances thru animal sacrifices, which made atonement for sin, and was His grace then, for breaking the Ten Commandments (TC; Jn. 1:16-17).
What I see is the Mosaic Law and the TC are different laws, which Paul differentiates in Romans 3:27. The Mosaic Law is what He took out of the way, having nailed it to His cross (Col. 2:14), which law we are no longer under (Rom. 6:14).
So the issue between us is how we see to perceive the Mosaic Law. I believe it pertains to animal sacrifices; you believe it's synonymous with the Law of God. Now I'm always open for correction. So if I'm wrong to think the Mosaic Law refers to sacrifices then please show me, and I will repent from that way of wording.
Though we have this difference concerning the Mosaic Law, after watching the video, I believe our hearts are in the right place. Could this be a matter of semantics?

I choose to avoid places where people get drunk. But if they only serve alcohol (like a pizza restaurant) and people don't go there to get drunk.. then I can have a good conscience that I'm NOT having the appearance of wrong doing.

      Mark 7:15
There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
      Matthew 15
Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, “Listen and understand. A man is not defiled by what enters his mouth, but by what comes out of it.”
      Colossians 2
When you were dead in your trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our trespasses, 14having canceled the debt ascribed to us in the decrees that stood against us. He took it away, nailing it to the cross! 15And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.…16Therefore let no one judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a feast, a New Moon, or a Sabbath.
      Romans 14:2-23
Some people's faith allows them to eat anything, but the person who is weak in the faith eats only vegetables. Those who will eat anything are not to despise those who don't; while those who eat only vegetables are not to pass judgement on those who will eat anything; for God has accepted them. Who are you to judge someone else's servants? It is their own Master who will decide whether they succeed or fail. And they will succeed, because the Lord is able to make them succeed. Some people think that a certain day is more important than other days, while others think that all days are the same. We should each firmly make up our own minds. Those who think highly of a certain day do so in honour of the Lord; those who will eat anything do so in honour of the Lord, because they give thanks to God for the food. Those who refuse to eat certain things do so in honour of the Lord, and they give thanks to God. None of us lives for himself only, none of us dies for himself only. If we live, it is for the Lord that we live, and if we die, it is for the Lord that we die. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For Christ died and rose to life in order to be the Lord of the living and of the dead. You then, who eat only vegetables - why do you pass judgement on others? And you who eat anything - why do you despise other believers? All of us will stand before God to be judged by him. For the scripture says: “As surely as I am the living God, says the Lord, everyone will kneel before me, and everyone will confess that I am God.” Every one of us, then, will have to give an account of ourselves to God. So then, let us stop judging one another. Instead, you should decide never to do anything that would make another stumble or fall into sin. My union with the Lord Jesus makes me certain that no food is of itself ritually unclean; but if a person believes that some food is unclean, then it becomes unclean for that person. If you hurt your brother or sister because of something you eat, then you are no longer acting from love. Do not let the food that you eat ruin the person for whom Christ died! Do not let what you regard as good get a bad name. For God's Kingdom is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of the righteousness, peace, and joy which the Holy Spirit gives. And when people serve Christ in this way, they please God and are approved by others. So then, we must always aim at those things that bring peace and that help to strengthen one another. Do not, because of food, destroy what God has done. All foods may be eaten, but it is wrong to eat anything that will cause someone else to fall into sin. The right thing to do is to keep from eating meat, drinking wine, or doing anything else that will make your brother or sister fall. Keep what you believe about this matter, then, between yourself and God. Happy are those who do not feel guilty when they do something they judge is right! But if they have doubts about what they eat, God condemns them when they eat it, because their action is not based on faith. And anything that is not based on faith is sin.
By the way I eat what i like, I am not stumbled by it. If you feel happy eating the donuts then eat them with a clear conscience, but if you feel you are sinning against God then eat donuts at another place.
Even the very days of the week are named after other gods , Mars became Tyr (Tuesday), Mercury became Odin (Wednesday), Jupiter became Thor (Thursday) and Venus became Frigg (Friday).
      Hebrews 13:18
Pray for us; we are convinced that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way.
Jesus said to the Scribes and Pharisees" You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel."
The Jews had a law that forbade eating any flying insects that did not have jointed legs for hopping (Leviticus 11:20-23), and in this they were strictly observant. Because water could have insects and insect larvae in it, pious Jews were careful to strain the water through a cloth before drinking it. They did not want to accidentally ingest an unclean insect and thus violate the law. Jesus mentions this practice in His proverb and then contrasts it with a hyperbolic picture of gulping down a camel. In this way, Jesus accused them of taking great pains (straining out gnats) to avoid offence in minor things of little importance, while tolerating or committing great sins (swallowing camels) such as deceit, oppression, and lust.

You're right the law can not remove the guilt or penalty of sin (which the Father decreed, is death way back in the garden) that's WHY the Apostle saw that the sacrifice of Jesus was so much more superior, because He removed the guilt and the penalty of death. We find our justification in Christ, not works of the law, but that doesn't imply we don't do the works of the law.

It's interesting that you mention sinning knowingly or unknowingly. There was no sacrifice for intentional sin in the "law" only unintentional sin. The person who had sinned intentionally had to live with a guilty conscience (if they were "spiritual") knowing that they had separated themselves from God. That is another reason why the sacrifice of Jesus is superior. His sacrifice (and our faith in His complete atonement) cleanses our conscious, Hebrews 9:14. However, as he writer of Hebrews also taught, if we continue in willful sin, there is no sacrifice for us, Hebrews 10:26.
And right there we have the "spirit of the law"...the letter of the law kills (no sacrifice) the Spirit gives life (Jesus is the sacrifice)...so, walk in newness of life. xo

very confusing. This is not what Gal 21-25, Rom 7:1-6, Gal 2:19, 2 Cor 3:7-9 (Where it calls the Ten Commandments " written and engraved in stone" the ministry of death). Yes the Law defies sin for which Jesus paid im full. Gal warns the believer about going back to the law.

It's like hearing a JW (who believes what he believes) going through the verses that teach Jesus is God, trying to explain it proving their position (that Jesus is not God). Look for whatever verse in the Bible they can find that supposedly supports their belief and bring it in and interpret the verse their way.

Jesus is not God. If you read the whole Bible objectively, there is a good chance you will come to the same conclusion. Jesus is our Messiah, High Priest, and our King. Is that not enough for you that you must make him the creator, too?
