I used to do some day trips to Wintergreen in high school, but I stopped skiing Wintergreen because of the lack of terrain open and frustrating lift logistics. With Massanutten I can count on at least one top-to-bottom route opening around the Christmas holiday, but the Highlands at Wintergreen (my favorite section) doesn’t even open until late January. Massanutten’s now my go-to ski hill for day trips for winter break when I’m home from college.
Love this videos. I recently took up snowboarding. It was a rough start, but I’m loving it now. I’m probably gonna get a year pass to Canaan Valley this winter! Lot more learning to do!
Awesome to hear it! There’s always something to work on with snowboarding 😅. I love riding at Canaan Valley, so you’ll have a good variety to work with
Great video! I'm getting back into Snowboarding after a 4 year hiatus so it was great to get a refresher on both resorts since I'm about 30 min from each!
I’m glad you liked the video! I feel like a direct comparison is sometimes the best way to figure out which place is the best fit. But if you live 30 minutes from both, I’d visit both often 😅
@@AdventureLife365 Yeah I definitely want to visit both this season since its been such a long time, and might as well since I'm so close Loool Did you happen to try the terrain park at both places? And if so how was the selection of jumps & rails at each?
@@ButteredUp_ I did go to both terrain parks later in the season. Unfortunately wintergreen only had one terrain park section up when I was there (the smaller one) which only had a rocker box and two rails at the time. While Mass had a few rails, two boxes, and a small jump pretty late into March last season. And it’s easier to do park laps at Mass too

I can see that, Massanutten did a really good job last season at making their snow last well into March too!
