Ik there’s two elderly folks that go to the karaoke that I go to with my grandmother. They don’t sing but they just watch. They’re the nicest people too. Sometimes they play some old jazz music for them and they dance and it’s just the warmest feeling. It’s nice to see.
I sooooo wanted to grow old with my husband, but he died 11 years into the marriage with brain cancer. We had two youngsters 2nd grade and 5 grade . I never remarried. It’s been 26 years since his death.
So sorry to hear that, I'm sure he's up in the heavens protecting all of you. Hope you and your family have a great life!

Jaden Mandera Thank you for your kind words. We all are doing well, the years since his death have been good , but lonely especially after the kids 1 into the Marine Corp and the other University then on to marriage and starting their own family. I have no complaints.

Sacrifice was not in my DNA after a ruthlessly self centered life on my husband's part and I left, 55 years ago and never got remarried.

My grandparents have been married for almost 70 years now. This song reminds me so much of them. My grandmother, though, has severe dementia and its hard to watch this person whom I was so close with deteriorate into a shell of who she once was. My grandfather is taking care of her and its heart breaking to think of how much he misses just having a conversation with her. I love them both and am so blessed to have both of them in my lives.
I can relate. My grandparents were married for 74 years before my grandfather passed away a couple of days ago on Wednesday April 24 2024.
And my grandmother has dementia too so ik ur pain.

My grandparents were together for 58 years. They loved listen to me playing the piano. When grandma died, I asked grandpa how does he manage with life you know, and he told me "Little Sophie, I will be okay" then he grabed my grandma's photo and said "Wait for me my love, I will find you again" . After some months of depression at the age of 92 he indeed found her. Even all the family dramas, they got married and prove everyone wrong. I just wish all of us to find love and be happy forever
