- Small but enthusiastic crowd - very noisy and lots of air guitars. I had to move around a bit to get a good view as some attendees were tall. :) The video cuts a little abruptly at the end because I hit Stop by mistake, but there were only about 5 more seconds to go with Lips still shaking hands in the crowd.
Been lucky enough to see them a couple of times at small venues. Always bring a ton of energy and a kick ass show. And they are very approachable and very cool to the fans.

All I can say is that I am SO happy that I've seen Anvil now 5 times and every time, they have been great, including last month in Palmdale California. I will see them again next year...if they come back! Way too good of a band to have 30 people show up for 20 bucks!!!! Love ya, boys...you rule!!!!
Live Anvil , no matter how many in the crowd always give their fucking best , legends to deduction to the cause . Seen many times always a great night !!
I was tired yesterday and almost didn't go even though I had my ticket, but I'm glad I gave myself a kick in the ass and went anyway. Anvil's energy is contagious!
Forged in fire changed my life, wordless...... hope they keep the same way, God blass you Anvil.
Great performance, unfortunately not so many people in the audience. I think I'm going to one of their shows this year in Belgium or the Netherlands. Saw them in 2018 it was fun 🙃🤘
This is why I basically gave up being in a band. Anvil has been around 40 years, has somewhat of a name, had the big documentary with tons of exposure, went on to open for AC/DC in stadiums....and look what it gets them - still playing in a club to 5 people. Now imagine being in a new band, no record label, no money, no one knows who you are, how are you supposed to get anywhere? And I've seen it with bigger bands. I opened for Deicide once and the show was just like this, maybe 10 people there total. If that's the best a band with decades of experience and exposure can do, what chance does a new band have?
Good point.. unless they are young, emo ish and backed by the corporate machine, they have little chance. This is a horrible crowd though..how do they even agree to play these gigs when there are hardly any ticket sales? It has to cost then more money to get all their stuff to these dive bars.
@@Polentaccio they get a guarantee, if no one shows up that's on the promoter
Good point. They just do it for fun at this point I don’t think they care about any of that stuff anymore.
They put on one of the best shows I've ever seen.
I've seen them several times and they never disappoint!
Love these guys... the deserve so much better. 4 guys on the floor 1 is the photographer.
Anvil is absolutely amazing, undervalued for sure forge and fire was absolutely fantastic, love from Ontario Canada
People are commenting on how small the crowd is, and yes, i agree it's disappointing. However, to be able to get up close to the stage with this level of musicianship is an opportunity not everyone gets. People should take advantage of that, especially if you're a musician! 🇨🇦☠️🇨🇦
Metal on metal.... the song that started metal! 59 now and follow them sence they started! 🪨🎯🪨
Rock ON Anvil ❤❤❤❤❤
Japan maybe have mothra but us in Canada we the Mighty Anvil 🤘🤘🤘
Well they have godzillia mecha godzillia raideen ect you Horseheads have Bryan Adam's lmfao
So fucking amazing
Esta banda é foda, incrível estarem na ativa ainda, e um privilégio poder verem eles... espero que venham ao Brasil logo
They have the sound they got the grind a lot of people have stolen their music I think it's f***** up just like Lamy said for Motorhead Anvil always be in our hearts
Calm down buttercup if who ever you speak stole their music they would be just as successful as anvil lmfao wouldn't you want to steal from sabbath or any band that made money not piping hot bowls of goulash! Lmfao 😅
Well whom ever stole their music is in the same position ( eating goulash no money) wouldn't you think rippling off sabbath ect ect would have been smarter lol ! Money success great tunes lmfao 😅😮
I just don't understand why such a legendary band can only draw crowds like this. I saw them in Aug '24 in Minneapolis and there were maybe 50 people. I'm really glad I got to see/meet these guys. Just a few days before that Metallica sold out US Bank Stadium (MN Vikings) 2 nights in a row. I just don't get it.
It's frustrating, yes. I've seen them several times and the number of attendees was always somewhat disappointing. Unsurprisingly, after two years of very small crowds here, this year's tour is skipping the town, so I'm not going to see them this time around. To the band's credit, even with a small crowd they give it all and seem to enjoy themselves on stage.
I have been at lots of festivals and huge arenas, but concerts and sound is never as good as on small club stages.
You are also close to the band on small stages which is great. It never matters how many is in front of stage as bands still pretend like they play for 1000 people.
I've seen them only in small venues except twice (where the large venues were far from full) and yeah, it doesn't matter how many people are in attendance, they always deliver and always seem to enjoy themselves. For this specific venue/town, I'm afraid they might not come back as it's two years in a row now that I see them with very few attendees (enthusiastic, but few). Somewhere you have a promoter not getting his/her money's worth.
I remember the clear plastic mini record of Forged In Fire I got out of Kerrang! magazine back in '83 or '84. They fell through the cracks and never made it... until the movie.
I saw them 41 years ago opening for Ronnie James Dio at Massey Hall, Toronto. December 1983.
Shows like that you don't forget. This seems a step down. Still sounds great.
Well at least better than Motley Crue
And their last 3 albums are 👍👌
I remember playing shows like this. You try and play your heart out, but damn it's demoralizing.
I admire Anvil's persistence. Yes, a great opportunity to see good musicians up close. Problem is they sound like a good garage band. When you can count the audience on both hands, that should tell you something. Not bashing, just being honest.
Vengan a Sudamérica: Perú, Chile, para ir a ver a Anvil 💪
Holy shit, THAT'S the size of the audience that Anvil plays to nowadays? That documentary was such propaganda.
This is the reality for most metal bands. I've seen Doro, UDO, Deicide, Accept, Grim Reaper, tons of other 80s metal bands that were even bigger than Anvil ever were, and they all play shows to like 10-20 people max in some crappy club. Metal is dead in the US and has been for years. Hell I even saw Type O Negative at one of their last shows in a club this size and only about 100 people were there.
Fuckin Anvil!
It’s like the movie never changed😂
Isn't it great
yeah only now they claim they're doing better than ever and don't have to work day jobs anymore
I’m assuming they get a guarantee regardless of ticket sales lol
Yeah a big pot of steaming hot goulash and your choice of soft drinks
Some bands do ask for some guaranteed fee, sometimes non-refundable (whether they play or not). Some 20 years ago, a small promoter I know gave up on the business after paying W.A.S.P. for NOT playing (that year Blackie Lawless was especially bitchy, cancelling a lot of shows hours before the doors opened, for whatever reason.
Those three people in the audience got their money worth.
lol. Most people were hanging further back, but it was indeed a disappointingly small crowd, much like last year at the same venue. :( At least those who were there were pretty loud and there was much headbanging and air guitaring.
@@TheMetalCrypt666 Better than rap crap any day of the week, lol.
@@markusaurelius777 No kidding :)
Still only playing Infront of a few people so sad
METAL ON METAL AKA ANVIL ON ANVIL.
The bassist has changed again?
Chris Robertson has been playing bass with then since 2014.
Dorky looking bass player, horrible stage moves, but he plays great. Lips needs to step it up and keep in time more
Given your reputation you (Anvil) should be playing to a thousand people a night
and you are not.

To make another shit album
