I just built one half of the smelter spending an entire half and just realized that I had built it in the wrong way but if I were building it on plain flat land, then no big deal but I had designed a special UFO and had marked out the dimensions to fit this perfectly. So I have to either leave it as a 32 furnace smelter or rebuild the entire thing. Life is great!

There is an easier way to fix the problem. I was about to restart after building it the wrong way, but if you place a temporary block on the rails that keep joining up when on different levels and then place the rails, you will get the same result as in the video. If it doesn't work, then IDK. Also this is in 1.20 that works.
Hey guys. So one thing I learned in troubleshooting this to make the honey blocks get into position is that the fuel seems to need to be all of the same type. If you do as he says in the video and fill everything (furnaces+fuel chest) with coal or bamboo, then the honey blocks push out and things work. When the fuel was of different types or not completely full in the two hopper minecarts, it did not happen. Hope this helps anyone troubleshooting this.
So glad you released this! I’m currently building a giant Westminster style cathedral in survival out of smooth sandstone and other blocks. This is going to be amazing to smelt a tonne of sandstone into smooth sandstone without waiting a long time! Definitely improves on my 10 furnace one.. Thanks so much!
For people who have the carts get stuck between the observer and the hopper, for some reason when you are building this smelter in the wrong direction that interaction happens. So it will never happen if you build the smelter east to west or west to east and it will always happen north to south ( chest to chest ). You can fix it by extending the direction of the rail by one where the cart get's stuck.

for the confused people, the first line of blocks they start building is directly under the part you want to be showing in your base. specifically those 3 blocks overlapping at the very end. the part is also about 7 blocks above the line.

Hello. Anyone having issues with the minecart getting stuck on the corner, just make the rail a little longer so you come into the observer that drops the cooked matts on a straight line
@@danielblair5595 yes, look, it gets stuck in the corner, so, make it make it one block longor following the line of furnaces, so when it reaches the observer is going on a straight line

Tips to help: - Dimensions are 22 wide x 16 deep x 9 tall - the 10 block long line at the start of the video will eventually be the middle of the build, taking up 10 of the 16 blocks deep. The 3 floating blocks placed after this take it up to 13. Two extra blocks will be placed on the non-floating side, and one will be placed on the side with the extra 3 floating blocks through the course of the video (to give an idea of scale). - if people are having trouble with the minecarts getting stuck on corners, the original creator of this design, ShaydeeJay, has uploaded a fix video, detailing how to stop this from happening. Check it out!
This smelter still works in 1.19.4. The solution where the coal minecarts gets stuck in the corners, is that you have to replace some of the powered rails with regular rails. The reason why they get stuck is because of the speed. Trust me, it works.
@@connorsc1 Replace the powered rails with normal rails where the droppers are (do it on both sides). If you replace too many, the cart will lose speed, and get stuck, too little and they get stuck. So you have to work your way around it.
@@d7l905 thanks, i figured that if you change the normal rail under the observer in the corner to a powered rail that is just going straight it doesnt get stuck and carries on. i only needed to change 2 rails
Tip:you can make a carpet duper to power this smelter so that no coal would be needed for smelting.Connect the hopper or chest you use to collect the carpets with the chest under which minecart with hopper passes by
Once, I built a super smelter, and had the immediate idea of building a carpet duper and hooking it up to the smelter for infinite fuel. Most satisfying thing ever in minecraft, infinite fuel producing every second, filling every furnace, hopper, chests, it was amazing. I'd smelt stacks of stone for no reason lmao it was so fast.
Allready had a 20 furnace super smelter with a bamboo farm attached to it for fueling, but it had a few flaws which where to limiting to go any further. Now, after I've build my auto sorting storage, I really needed something with more "umpf" if you know what I mean :-D thanks for this great design. Edit : the amount of charcoal you acrually need for this thing is ridiculous. I already thought my super-smelter used alot of fuel, but this .... this is absolutely mad. Worth it though, ive never burned that fast through stone in my entire 11 years of minecraft :-D
Yeah exactly this. I nedded to build a double mossfarm to feed my logfarm to get the amount of charcoal i needed to smelt the original stuff i needed for my build :D
NOTE if you make this in 1.19 it need one minor change in that the droper system needs to be moved back one One of the Observers clips the fuel mine cart stopping it on the rails moving moving back one will fix that You also need to add another water source and I recommend fence gates or sings inted of slabs over the ice
@@cptzwieback1513 I have the same problem to and I wanted to explain to others building this on 1.19, So basically in the dropper system, you move it back 1 block away from the hoppers for the furnace, its to prevent minecarts being stuck on the observers. Dropper System: Near the water transporter thing, to drop smelted items.
This is insane!!! I thought this was going to be too hard to build, but it was the only one with good enough rates, so I tried it. It works really well, but I hooked up a double carpet duper to this thing, and now it's just op. Cooked up my 2 shulkers of Netherack super fast! :) Highly recommend.
@@TJenks048 This is a very good super smelter, but ignore what I said about connecting a carpet duper. The carpets get smelted faster than the fuel hopper minecarts can refuel them. You really just need coal or charcoal for this, and I'm telling you a lot of it. I have a wither skeleton farm that gives a lot of coal, but it takes a lot of AFK to actually get enough.
@@CfopCubing okay I gotcha. I'm using dusty dudes tree farm that is going to run into an auto refueling charcoal smelter that is then going to feed this super smelter. Then on the other side I'm using ilmangos cobblestone farm to run into the smelter. I need a ton of stone lol
To anyone having issues with the smelter only picking up 63 items and the minecarts NOT parking on the slope correctly; make sure that the smelter is built in a way so that the refueling station is towards the east and the input chest on the west side of the smelter. In other words, the rails with the input minecarts need to slope up towards the east. At least this is what fixed it for us on our server :)
Pro Tip: Use CARPET as Fuel and make a Carpet Duper connected to the Fuel Chest for Infinite Fuel male sure to turn off the carpet duper once it starts overflowing carpets or else ur game might lag due to too many entites (if u have a potato PC like me)
I did exactly that lol. I built this farm underground right above it is my stone farm. I made a system so that cobblestone directly goes to the super smelter and the smelter gets it's fuel from the dupers after smelting all my stone gets collected in multiple chests in the collection area
Finally got around to playing with this design, made it in survival and added some tweaks in creative to get an avg 6 items per second, under 10 mins for 3456 items, dropper clock is limited to single hopperline input, alter the flow of the hoppers to feed the 16 furnaces into both sides of the dropper for a double speed dropper clock (move the water pathway under the machine), and then the issue becomes collection, the chest collection from the hopper at the end of the item elevator clogs replace it with a 4x hopper speed input with minecart collection and you can cut the time by about 5-7 mins for a full double chest worth of smelting goodness
I think your videos are awesome and your builds are epic :D - one tip though, personally I think they would be even greater if there was a small showcase in the beginning of what it is that I im actually building, showing it in action and resulting output. Would keep the viewer ever more hooked to find out how to build it :)
@@Toiletbrasil14 Strange I am using the schematic to build it but it just doesn't load all the furnaces with coal nor blocks to smelt. Could be both the servers I tried may not allow it
Note: If your refueling minecarts are getting stuck at the edges Just remove 1 powered rail at the back of the minecart and at the side of the same block add a 2X2 platform and add rails going into that 2X2 platform and connect them to tge original path. Note: add at the end of the 2X2 platform u should use normal rails only😊 Thank you
Hey @Shulkercraft, great video as always. But instead of just building tutorial, could you guys also explain how certain parts of the build work or why the redstone components are placed the way they are? That would make understanding the builds a lot easier. Thanks for always putting out such awesome content and keep up the good work.
To anyone who was wondering about this, I built this farm using a bamboo farm for the fuel, and i would not recommend it. The smelters are using bamboo faster than the hopper minecarts can deliver more bamboo, so after around a full double chest of items smelted (starting with all hoppers and furnaces full of fuel) the farm runs out of fuel.
yeah thats actually the reason these videos are not so good... building layers is way easier and doing redstone at the end, so people actually can follow and understand what is happening. Dont give people Fish if you can teach them how to fish themselfs...
i had the same problem too , the furnace the makes the minecart stuck , should be replaced with a slab , in that case the minecart doesn't get stuck so basically that furnace blocking the way has to be replaced with a slab with the rail on top of it . sorry for replaying u too late
Editing this comment with other advice when my machine kept breaking in bedrock 1.19.20: For those planning the build, you need 22 wide x14 deep blocks on the floor and 9 blocks tall. This does NOT include space you need to get around the sides, getting under or on top of the machine to operate/build. Item dropper can be automated on the floor behind it with comparator + 2 repeaters so the minecart doesn't get stuck. If you build this machine facing east west, you'll need to change a powered rail to regular for the item minecart near the item chest, otherwise the first pass flips it and minecart never revisits the front of the smelter. Items weren't being smelted on the front furnaces. On the redstone line that controls the item minecart fence gate, I added 3 repeaters on 4 ticks behind the final repeater (add some upper slabs). The problem is that too few items were being added to the minecart and filling up the back furnaces only. Adding repeaters allows about 35 items to get in the minecart (you need 32). I'm using a variety of fuel sources (mainly lava and throwing in extra blaze rods, coal, or charcoal) with no issue. Built 128 cauldron lava farm right behind the super smelter. All the furnaces (except 2) have fuel in them plus hopper slot 1 with fuel and slots 2-5 with regular no tag dirt. The first furnace fuel on both sides is tricky because of comparator mechanics. The way I solved it was to put stack of coal in the furnace and totally empty the hopper. Then the fuel minecart primed it correctly and didn't fail as long as you keep topping off the fuel chest. Probably need to add fault detection with a Redstone lamp. I'm moving all chest to the front because machine climbing, I have accidentally screwed with repeaters or broke part of the machine. Lol. This build is just so awesome and worth the hassle. I smelted 10 stacks of 64 regular items in roughly 3-4 minutes.
I just changed something, where you input fuel in hopper minecarts you just destroy that redstone block that is near comparator which checks if there are fuel in hopper. When you do that you just put 64 fuel only in first furnaces and now you dont need to fill all your hoppers and furnaces with fuel because if first furnace consumes 1 they all get only 1 more fuel. Helped me a lot because I dont like dupping carpet so I use kelp and really can't build gigantic kelp farm only to smelt couple of shulkerboxes of sand. [BTW if you fill all your hoppers and furnaces with fuel it'll take 24000 fuel only to start the smeltery but in my case it only takes like 2 stacks :)]
This farm DOES work on 1.20. If the minecarts are getting stuck on that corner, just remove some powered rails from the middle section so the cart goes into the corner with less speed. There may be other troubleshooting throughout, but that's the only issue I had building it on 1.20.
Im having a problem where the hopper minecarts dont fill up with the items to be smelted properly. They maintain their momentum underneath the items chest and pass through without picking up more than 4 blocks at a time. Did you ever run into that?
@@eeyahflores7087 Sorry I’m not sure it’s been a minute since I built it, but there may be some troubleshooting for that somewhere in this comment section. I remember I had that same issue but it was fixed pretty easily with something in there.
Bedrock Users: Every update, I will build this farm to see if the redstone can work. So far, as of 1.19.40, this does not work. Rails are not working as they should, and redstone connects to a piston that is not supposed to be connected to. I will edit this message as the updates go on, hoping that finally.. I will be able to finish this tutorial.
@Blaine Thomas what the heck is giving up? Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.
for anyone having problems with the rail orientation, the hopperline for the furnaces need to be alined along the Z-axis, then rail placement will be possible as in the video.
Mine is not working. The fuel hopper minecarts get stuck underneath the observers for the dropper, and the other minecarts barely pick up any items I have discovered fixes for both of these issues: 1. Where the hopper minecart gets stuck, send it onto another powered rail instead of a turning rail. Make sure to put a block so it doesn’t fly off the wrong end. 2. Close the fence gates beneath the input chest. 3. Also on my test run, an observer clock somehow got stuck, just destroying and replacing the observer, or powering the piston with a button will fix it.
Apart from specifying this is for JAVA, various issues for 1.21.1 that CAN be solved: 1)smelting carts are dumping materials into fuel carts. SOLUTION: within the end of the fuel railway, the cart goes up passing through a block and arrives to the refueling station. You’ll have to elevate the railway one block so that the fuel cart doesn’t get through those blocks. Next, within the railway array where there’s powered rails over trapdoors (near water elevator), in the last corner between the last 2 furnaces and the last rails till the refueling station, remove the last 2 furnaces and following hoppers from each side and get the fuel railway all the way till the corner rail so that the powered rail under the trapdoor is 3 blocks down (counting the one with the trapdoor too) 2)the fuel runs out too fast if using carpets or bamboo. SOLUTION: make sure all the fuel hoppers and furnaces are full of fuel, I recommend attaching a carpet or bamboo farm to the fuel station. 3)the fuel carts do not move when full. I still have to figure out a solution I hope this gets pinned for user info
For some reason the hopper minecarts at the refuelling bit don't stop moving so when they get back they just leave again even if all the hoppers are full with coal. Can anyone help?
i personally recomend you to build carpet duper and connect it with fuel chest to make it fully automatic, so next time you can just flick the lever and you don't need any fuel at all.
If fuelling all the hoppers and furnaces and filling the fuel chest is necessary to make the smelter work then you should put the fuel in the items needed. Just to let you know you need at least 64 * 2 (furnaces + hoppers, assuming you use filler blocks) + 54 (for the fuel double chest) = 182 stacks of fuel to get the smelter working. I have been smelting logs for 8 days
@@katofffel4387 I think that the fuel type needs to be stackable so I'm not sure lava buckets would work. If they did work you would have to remove all the buckets individually once they are used up so using lava isn't very convenient imo. Btw I haven't tried using lava buckets so I'm just guessing
PLEASE show the dimensions of the build and where you are starting it so its easier to plan out the space. I did this but it ended up being sideways and had to restart lol
For those whose fuel carts get stuck because of the observers, just simply shift the whole row of observer, piston and droppers one row out on both side, add one more dropper for each dropper chain used to collect item from the furnace, modify the water path to the bubble column and it works again. This could be caused by Mincraft 1.18 somehow broke the collision box on corner of block, the issue also cause a bee always stuck on the corner of my bee farm:(
had some troubles with placing the rails, either its the new mc version or its the server im playing on, worked in the end tho, cant wait to finish it and test it out
I need help ….. the minecarts keep stoping on the side of the smelter where the observers are with the piston and i don’t know how to keep it going and i did push and reload the game
For some reason the fuel cart gets stuck by the dispenser that shoots stuff into the water stream. I figured out it is the observer pointing down above the dispenser that is causing the cart to stop. Any recommendations to fix this?
Heres a quick fix Starting from scratch Place a comparator facing the dispensor Place an observer facing the comparator Place a sticky piston under the observer pushing it upward Put an item in the dispensor (Sticky Piston should extend upward and stay) Place a second observer facing the first observer. This one is located above the compartor It will stop when no items are in the dispensor and Start when anything enters it
@@imold1029 It fixes the refueling minecart getting stuck on the observer for the dropper system my man. Thats what he said his issue was and I had a similar issue. The refueling cart goes around and gets stuck on the observer My solution works fine for fixing that problem.
Btw the filler blocks needed for the fuel is a total of 16,384 stackable items. I might have missed something but luckily I found an easy way to get them all. If you have a gunpowder farm you can easily farm netherrack by mining a tunnel and placing and lighting a TNT about every 8 blocks or so. Don't place all the TNT at once, instead place and light one, then collect netherrack and repeat.
when your adding the rails you probably notice the creative thoughts of the rails, they like to face in directions in creative ways, making me have to remake the entire part, especially the part with the trap doors

- Dimensions are 22 wide x 16 deep x 9 tall
- the 10 block long line at the start of the video will eventually be the middle of the build, taking up 10 of the 16 blocks deep. The 3 floating blocks placed after this take it up to 13. Two extra blocks will be placed on the non-floating side, and one will be placed on the side with the extra 3 floating blocks through the course of the video (to give an idea of scale).

This smelter still works in 1.19.4. The solution where the coal minecarts gets stuck in the corners, is that you have to replace some of the powered rails with regular rails. The reason why they get stuck is because of the speed. Trust me, it works.

The redstone components behind the chests are for moving the minecarts in a lightning speed.

Editing this comment with other advice when my machine kept breaking in bedrock 1.19.20:
For those planning the build, you need 22 wide x14 deep blocks on the floor and 9 blocks tall.

The pain
Mine is not working. The fuel hopper minecarts get stuck underneath the observers for the dropper, and the other minecarts barely pick up any items
I have discovered fixes for both of these issues:
Really good for roasting 64 children at a time
good job
Apart from specifying this is for JAVA, various issues for 1.21.1 that CAN be solved:
1)smelting carts are dumping materials into fuel carts. SOLUTION: within the end of the fuel railway, the cart goes up passing through a block and arrives to the refueling station. You’ll have to elevate the railway one block so that the fuel cart doesn’t get through those blocks. Next, within the railway array where there’s powered rails over trapdoors (near water elevator), in the last corner between the last 2 furnaces and the last rails till the refueling station, remove the last 2 furnaces and following hoppers from each side and get the fuel railway all the way till the corner rail so that the powered rail under the trapdoor is 3 blocks down (counting the one with the trapdoor too)
2)the fuel runs out too fast if using carpets or bamboo. SOLUTION: make sure all the fuel hoppers and furnaces are full of fuel, I recommend attaching a carpet or bamboo farm to the fuel station.
3)the fuel carts do not move when full. I still have to figure out a solution
I hope this gets pinned for user info
did you found the solution for the fuel carts stopped on the station?

i personally recomend you to build carpet duper and connect it with fuel chest to make it fully automatic, so next time you can just flick the lever and you don't need any fuel at all.
@@miraculateplays3605 bro that's the dropper part, not the refuelling system.
I recommend going to shaydeejay's YT. He made some fixes and upgrades to this super fast smelter.
I just want to say that you are an amazing 'minecrafter' and i am truly happy to have discoverd you on youtube. Keep posting i love your content!
