Thank you very much for the reply Graeme. I went straight to the shop and brought some of the chum mixing biscuits and they worked a treat, I managed to keep a whole swim of carp occupied with a few biscuits every 10 minutes as well as my hook bait and caught a fair few fish averaging from 5-10 pounds, worked a treat, thanks again, James.
I fish straight away as soon as I have tackled up.I just like to get the bait in as soon as I get there so the fish can move in on it.I don't fish huge long days, just short sessions and found it works, providing you stay on until low light levels in the evenings. And yes, you should definately fish on the bottom, that's where all the bait is. Good luck-Graeme.
I use a Partridge Specialist. It has quite a wide gape. You can crush the barb down with forceps if the fisheries want barbless.Don't think they make a specific barbless.Don't know who stocks them.I am still running off my old stock.Try a search for them on Google. The company were in Worcestershire,Worcs.
Bait should be lying on the bottom, then six inches to small shot that should stop float drift.Keep line tight to rod tip.Don't look away from the float or you may lose the rod !.Good Luck-Graeme.
No reason why not. If you pick a chunky variety you can carefully wash the jelly off and use the bits of meat,or mush the whole lot and add some fine white groundbait to fill up into a paste.Good Luck..
Yes,its cheap to buy from supermarkets, but only use it as a sort of binding agent with something else, say bread and bran.It makes it a bit more sticky. On its own its like glue !! I generally use it when fishing rivers.
Great upload, I love these videos. I think learners are far better watching these than the mega complicated dedicated carp videos that are on youtube. There is no need to over complicate anything!.. Actually quite the opposite will catch the best carp.
That was some Totally Awesome Fishing by the sound of it .Supermarkets offer some really cheap baits, and they work well. Keep the catches going. Spread the Totally Awesome word !!!
I guess, but over here bran is a really cheap, bulk feed and fish, especially the small fish, eat it.This feeding action I believe brings interest from bigger fish, that move in to find out what all the commotion is about. But you could try jello .Anything is worth a try.
Ive been useing cat food as a hookbait for a few years now with great results. But i have never thought or heard of making it into a paste. I will definatly give it a try on my next session.
Never heard of that one. Basically if we eat it as humans, then the carp will eat is.They scoff pretty much anything. Check out all the food shelves in your supermarket. Hot dogs would be my favourite. Not many fishermen use them. Good luck. And watch out for our new film "How to make your own groundbait". Due up 7pm UK time 28 June 2013.Might help you get a few extra fish.
Good to watch this. I enjoyed it. Thought I knew all the fisheries in Surrey but I don't recognise this one. Guildford Angling Centre thought it could be Bury Hill at Dorking but I'm sure it isn't because I know it like the back of my hand. Come on Graeme, spill the beams
I think it was a day ticket water outside Guildford in Surrey. Check with the local Guildford tackle shop(if they have one) as there are bound to be other day ticket waters in the area.
After watching this I really want to give carp fishing a try next season. Not many people fish them in the US and they seem to give such a great fight. Hopefully the region in my local lake is cleared up where they live because some chemical or something of the sort got into the water killing a lot of carp. :(
Graeme, I used to fish Willinghurst when it was a trout fishery and recognized the house up on the hill, I am retired and live in Sri Lanka now, but heard that the fishery had a disease problem, are they back to normal now do you know . I used to read you articles years ago and enjoy your no nonsense approach. Nice your not pushing a tackle company at every opportunity.
I think it will be too sticky and not come out. Better to mix it with a groundbait and just add a small amount of paste with it to put some smell in the water. Then, the paste on your hook.
You should buy a decent Avon rod for about £20/£30.That would be the bottom end range, but should do the job and save money on a more expensive one which after all catches the same fish.Good Luck-Totally Awesome crew
Wow, cheers for the tips. Carp at my local lake love meat, been catching double figures on luncheon meat in the margins, bites are frequent, but they can be better. Thanks! :D
Your videos are amazing they have helped me so much I'm new to the carp fishing game.. Keep the videos coming and pay a visit to Dublin we have some top quality fisheries here
Yes,but I don't think you would need the hempseed, the smell of the pellets will hold them in the swim.Anything with bread in makes a good groundbait, especially for carp and tench.
hi mate i went fishing the other day with some mates they cwere all for the pop up but i stuck with the hot dogs and it went sooo well it was awsome keep the float vids coming
Agricultural feed suppliers.Check your search engine and see what that brings up for your local area. Its about £8 for a 20kg sack.Cheap as chips for the amount you get. Good luck. The T/A crew.
I guess the meat chunks vary with each manufacturer.Haven't tried them all,I generally get the cheapest I can from the supermarkets.Worth looking at them all though.
I would stiiffen it with some flour,or better still a very fine groundbait, but leave it 15 mins so the grains of groundbait can soak up the water and juice. I only fish the margins so it stays on OK.
My favorite type of fish to target. A little cream corn goes a long way to enhance the cat food. I'm surprised when fisherman have never tried various forms of cat food for carp and catfish. They're omnivores after all. Give em some meat, they'll love you got it!
wooow man , ive tried the cat food , i used some conserved little pieces of cat food made of wiscas or something like that , worked , but when i tried the same producer but made of chicken gosd ..one after one , big one , around 800 -1000 gr... wich was awesome ... the fun part it was when i threw some of the baite on the water..i could see lots of bubbles coming up the surface, it was very funny and good in did , thank you my friend for the advice ,
Hi, I've watched a few of your videos now and I have to say you make me laugh every time! I love your back to basic approach with "bog standard stuff you have in the kitchen" baits, just proving you don't need to re-mortgage your home to go fishing, or cast to the horizon either... I have a request for you, could you possibly do a video that concentrates solely on how you made the cat food ground bait and paste bait but in a little more detail or maybe a description please?
I find trout eat pretty much anything.I have never used catfood for trout bait but I would think there is every chance they will scoff it.Good luck. The T/A crew
Uncomplicated fun! better than buckets of expensive "spod"stuff! will try this next session, simplifies expensive modern methods! does this work in cold conditions?
Place was Willinghurst, near Guildford,Surrey, but its expensive,I think £14 a rod ? Check their site. I haven't bothered there this year. We are in the process of developing our website so we can sell our DVD's, clothing and we give out leaflets when we are at lakes. Check out our facebook page to stay up to date with what we are doing
Carp eat pretty much anything, ive caught one on an actual strawberry and also on a jelly baby sweet lol. Another great bait which is hardly ever used is Baked beans. Like with this catfood its best to bind together with flour or fine groundbait. You can form a great paste with baked beans and carp love them, tench also seem to love baked beans lol. Also the bonus with using baked beans is after half an hour of baiting with them, you can find the fish by seeing the bubbles they make lol.
Another great no nonsense proper fishing vid. Well done. One things did make me laugh though "make sure you was your hands in the margins" I normally like to swim out to the middle of the lake to wash my hands haha :-)
Haha !...I like that one...you must the same sense of humour...there aren't many of us left ! Someone with a clipboard and plastic name tag will probably ban laughing one day.
Great video, just basic fishing which is best, there are so many items of tackle today solely to catch the fisherman, keep it up mate. Also what music are you using? great track!!
great vid,,,,question tho,,,,the paste u made looks rather wet,,,do u let it set for a while???or mix more flour till dough like,,,,i only ask because how good is it for staying on hook,,i.e does it disolve quick in water ,,,,
do you think liquidized bread/ ground halibut pellet and hemp seed will be a good ground bait for carp, bream and tench I'm going to make it myself or do you know any other good self made mixes.
Hi Graeme. I recently tried fishing for carp using chum mixers, and it was all going great at first, however, at a fishery I now go to the carp feed about 40-50 yards out, and they're shy biting the hookbait. I use a Korda Interceptor for long-distance casts. (It's a controller float, in case you think I'm talking randomness!) and on my first day, it was working great. I had 4 Carp in a n hour, and caught a 15lber off the top. However, they're becoming shy now, is there any tips you have? Thanks!
Hi Graeme. I am 15 and I have just started out fishing, I have watched your videos for some time but I have not yet tried this method as the fishery I usually go to doesn't allow use of cat/dog foods in the pool as it is apparently an unfair advantage. However, tomorrow I am going to a different pool and I am going to try it out. I also heard that the dog biscuits and cat biscuits that work a treat for big carp when they are dipped in water, is this true? Keep the vids coming! Cheers, James.
i like this bloke,no bullshit or ramming super expensive designer baits down your throat.fair play.good simple advise and cheap bait, bang on.
i went fishing and used Bertie bassetts on my hook and caught Allsorts
hahahaahah hahaah good one :D
I’d like a pound for every time I’ve heard that one
😂😂😂
Hahahaha boom boom
Thank you very much for the reply Graeme. Could use Latex Gloves reduce the contact with the Meat..happy fishing

Yes indeed,Willinghurst it was,I think on a half day ticket.Don't know if they still do that.Haven't been there for a year.Graeme

Yes,sizes 8 and 6 for pretty much anything like barbel, chub, carp, tench etc, dropping to size 12's for bream and roach.
Most fixed spools have a small lever at the rear of the reel for either having backwind,or anti-reverse,either on,or off.Good luck.
Great upload, I love these videos. I think learners are far better watching these than the mega complicated dedicated carp videos that are on youtube. There is no need to over complicate anything!.. Actually quite the opposite will catch the best carp.

Thanks! Got some more on the way including catching carp on a bait that definitely won't have been used before!
Yes.We have already done it. Carp on bread I think the film is called.Check out our site, its in there somewhere.
love these videos bro .. love going bk in time and seeing how methods change and tactics..i find the best tactics are the old ways :)
regards :karl.
I guess, but over here bran is a really cheap, bulk feed and fish, especially the small fish, eat it.This feeding action I believe brings interest from bigger fish, that move in to find out what all the commotion is about. But you could try jello .Anything is worth a try.
Willinghurst,near Guildford in Surrey.Day ticket water,but not cheap.Good luck.
No,bran is an agricultural horse feed. It is good as a bulk feed with bread.Mix about 50:50
Ive been useing cat food as a hookbait for a few years now with great results. But i have never thought or heard of making it into a paste. I will definatly give it a try on my next session.
Just squeeze it around the hook, but try to leave a small bit of hook point showing. Paste is soft,so the hook should pull through when you strike.
Size 10 or 12,wide gape preferably, use barblerss if rules specify,or if barbed, crush them with forceps.I rarely lose fish doing this.
Never heard of that one. Basically if we eat it as humans, then the carp will eat is.They scoff pretty much anything. Check out all the food shelves in your supermarket. Yes,we have a film up on our playlist somewhere with bread for carp.
Both. I can then chop and change depending on fast the bites are coming, and if I am connecting with fish

Your videos have helped me a lot with me fishing do some more videos thanks for helping me with my fishing :)

I used to read you articles years ago and enjoy your no nonsense approach.
Nice your not pushing a tackle company at every opportunity.
I think that cornflour is better choice than self-raising flour because the white color doesnt look naturally as cornflour
I think it will be too sticky and not come out. Better to mix it with a groundbait and just add a small amount of paste with it to put some smell in the water. Then, the paste on your hook.
I'm definitely going to try that!! Well caught & great video🎣😎
You should buy a decent Avon rod for about £20/£30.That would be the bottom end range, but should do the job and save money on a more expensive one which after all catches the same fish.Good Luck-Totally Awesome crew
Never tried that but I guess adding the egg would bind it up better. Probably a lot easier just to buy boilies.
Wow, cheers for the tips. Carp at my local lake love meat, been catching double figures on luncheon meat in the margins, bites are frequent, but they can be better. Thanks! :D
Your videos are amazing they have helped me so much I'm new to the carp fishing game.. Keep the videos coming and pay a visit to Dublin we have some top quality fisheries here
Yes,but best in summer months, mid June to end of July. After that maggots are better.
Yes,but I don't think you would need the hempseed, the smell of the pellets will hold them in the swim.Anything with bread in makes a good groundbait, especially for carp and tench.
hi mate i went fishing the other day with some mates they cwere all for the pop up but i stuck with the hot dogs and it went sooo well it was awsome keep the float vids coming

,
I suppose you could use any cat food that has flavourings.Meat,fish,gravy,whatever.All worth a try.
I like to freeline it with just the paste weight in the margins. Or a link leger if casting further out. Either way.
You sir, are a Totally. Awesome. Legend.
Hi, I've watched a few of your videos now and I have to say you make me laugh every time! Yes, I have caught tench on it.
Top man, love your attitude to fishing.
Love carping, a 10 pounder from my local river fights a lot harder than most fisheries carp.
This dude is a mad man.
catfood is one of best carp bait i've ever used!! you must try it on carp pond
That's crazy !! Well done!
I find trout eat pretty much anything.I have never used catfood for trout bait but I would think there is every chance they will scoff it.Good luck. The T/A crew
Willinghurst,outside Guildford in Surrey.
Uncomplicated fun! better than buckets of expensive "spod"stuff! will try this next session, simplifies expensive modern methods! does this work in cold conditions?
MrRegni Yes,in mild winter conditions.Better when its warmer and the fish are more active
Place was Willinghurst, near Guildford,Surrey, but its expensive,I think £14 a rod ? Check their site. I haven't bothered there this year. love the video and your comments live in usa i`m sure that will work here keep it up

@buildersbutt Thanks! Thats what we're all about! The music is royalty free music which you can find anywhere on the internet

I think it was a day ticket water outside Guildford in Surrey. Can't remember the name though.
@skullmaster34 Yes you can use ordinary ground bait, just keep the mix wet so it breaks up.
Use bigger baits and bigger hooks. Fish late afternoon /evening when the bigger fish are on the move more.
great vid,,,,question tho,,,,the paste u made looks rather wet,,,do u let it set for a while???or mix more flour till dough like,,,,i only ask because how good is it for staying on hook,,i.e does it disolve quick in water ,,,,
Nice one. Enjoyed that.
No idea, I never tried it.Its sticky, so I guess it will. I just fish it straight on the bottom
yeah hemp does cost alot money i also seen your video on the dead maggots would the go good with the mix.
Thanks for your reply, you use this also for bread and meat chub/barbel fishing?Compliments to the video, beautiful
nice vid this bloke makes me laugh luv to go fishin with him
I have made your ground bait but instead of bran I used more porridge oats
great video Graeme. Do you fish on the bottom or just off?
LOL looks like he needs a new landing net. the fishing tackle cabin have some nice cheap ones in
Nice bayt making
Hi Graeme
Great video,do you think this method will work on all waters or does it depend on the margin depth?
Cheers Chris.
great video ! definitely subscribing
Around ten feet long.An Avon rod.Two piece.
since the catfood has fish in I wonder if a fishmeal groundbait powder would make a good substitute for flour?
hi great videos when you making some more and for this can i just use ordinary groundbait or does it have to be bran?
Mark of a pro.
do you think liquidized bread/ ground halibut pellet and hemp seed will be a good ground bait for carp, bream and tench I'm going to make it myself or do you know any other good self made mixes.
for making the ground bait or using the chunks for hook baits would it not be easier to buy the catfood that comes in gravy form ?
Hi Graeme. wow ur really good at fishing
Hi Sir, where are you fishing ??? Which lake is that??? Thank you so much!!
you are the best ever angler can you do carp fishing in a pond
Could I keep the jelly on them or should I wash it off for hookbait
Not on their own, they get too sticky. Use them as a binding agent with bread and bran mix.
thnx i will try and put it on
Cool video
Can I use the cat food lumps in the margins on a lead and a hair rig?
+TAFishing by using this method would you not get loads of eels Cumming the bait and ground bait ?
also any chance of a homemade groundbait video ive only been fishing 4months using a 12ft float rod and insert waggler float.
