    I picked this model up a week ago and have had the opposite experience. mine has been running absolutely perfect over the 1st week of ownership. It is amazingly still within a second of when I set it 🤷‍♂️

      That's great news! Congratulations on picking up this piece. Hope you enjoy it for many years!

    I am happy you mentioned the accuracy. I have the same watch and I checked it out on a timegrapher and the deltas were all over the place depending on position, ranging from -9s to +12s. I think the average may be in spec though as each position cancels another out, but I believe this deviation is far out of spec. I’ll probably sent this in right before the warranty ends

    • @engineer_wannabe
      @engineer_wannabe  Год назад +1

      Yikes, I'm sorry to hear that!
      Per the certificate that the watch comes with, the deltas should not be that high!
      Thanks for watching, by the way 🙂

      I have a SBGW291 which houses the same S964 movement and I'm also facing the same inaccuracy of about +10s average in a static position in my watchbox. I'm curious hows the winding experience for you? I have to wind it about 30~ times to kickstart the secondhand and then, about 40 times more to hit 3 days of power reserve :S

    • @St1gCom
      @St1gCom Год назад +1

      @@howieyeo3175 yeah similar for me. about 40 turns for full power. not so much as 30 times to start though.... i'd say about 10. but for a good movement it should be far more sensitive than that

    Beautiful GS but its crazy expensive. I'll stick with my Seiko Presage SARX029 with Urushi & Maki-e dial and Crocodile & leather strap as I think it looks nicer and I still had money to buy a Longines Spirit Zulu Time GMT with heaps of cash left over. But I'll leave final decision on subjective beauty until I see this GS in person. I wish they put a Croc strap on this GS as it would elevate the watch to me in appearance as it is a manually wound dress watch after all. Keep up the great videos.

    Very good review from a fellow Canadian. I have the OG SBGW253. Love the watch. But Urushi dial is very cool and exhibition caseback is nice as well. I put mine on a Milanese Watch Gecko bracelet from time to time. It makes it more luxurious, lol.

  • @jhoesing

    Mine is consistently +10s/day dial up. I’m not too annoyed by that because it’s still beautiful.

    Great review Sanjay, despite some flaws you clearly love the watch! It's a great piece and yes the camera will never do justice! I am so happy that when i first watched your videos it was when you were getting the enamel dial presages, im glad you have something like that (urushi) at the highest level in your collection. One day i hope to add back one of these presage watches, the spb395 as i really miss the day i had the blue enamel dial.

    You made the perfect bracelet choice for this watch. I think it actually looks better on the bracelet than the original strap.
    Don't get me wrong, the strap is really cool, but you'd have to be André the Giant for it to fit your wrist.

      Haha so true, it is bizarrely long but still fits my tiny wrist…so GS was still trying to accommodate

    Such a beautiful watch made to micro perfection has very average ar coating as any GS watch,this dial needs that insane Citizen Chronomaster ar coating.

    Bud, i would send it in if the accuracy is so far off. GS rates their accuracy conservatively and the watch should run more accurate than rated. Its a clear sign that something is wrong. Just my 2 cents, i dont own a GS but looking to buy one. Watched both your vids on this watch and they are great, cheers! :)

      Hi 🙂
      I think I responded to a previous comment. I don't work at a detailing shop, unfortunately. Though there are many good ones in the area. I'd recommend checking out OCG detailing in Markham. I used to go there for my supplies many years ago and saw that they did great work

      That’s out of spec…but such a great result! I wouldn’t touch that movement haha

  • @mukakta
    @mukakta Год назад

    Agreed on the movement choice being a little disappointing. Wish they had something a little more impressive (specs and/or decoration-wise) for these higher end mechanical models

    • @chia-mingyang5804
      @chia-mingyang5804 Год назад

      For GS I think this is only a mid-tier model because it even doesn't come with a precious metal case.

      A higher grade movement would have been welcome for sure….but it’s not the end of the world 🙂

    Beautiful watch! I have watch envy which is a minor sin for us watch nerds. Yes, you are entitled to a free adjustment within two years of ownership according to the paperwork. I need to send in my SBGJ213 for that before the end of the summer because it is running -5s per day on the wrist when it was +1s per day when I first purchased it. (It has a 2018 serial number.)
