An individual pulled up to the head of the beach and obviously drove too far. All-wheel drive ISN'T 4 wheel drive. Driver buried car and in trying to get it out stepped out of the car and was locked out with it still in gear.

This is why i ALWAYS roll both front windows all the way down, anytime i get out of a car while its running. These modern cars cause so many unnecessary lockouts because of their stupid automated / overcomplicated shit. If it were up to me. Power locks / power windows would be illegal. So would remotes and keyless ignitions. (Altho it would be ok to have a start button, to start the engine, once a key was inserted to the ignition lock and turned to on)
@@TheFalseShepphard its a automatic transmission he has put it in reverse and in automatic car it backs slovly without any gas needed but u can back faster when pressning gas pedal

I Think I know how this happend.
Keys and Phone are left in the car.
Some cars have an anti hijack Option. So Your doors lock automaticly as soon as you drive like over 5mph.
The bmws automaticly Shift to Park If you open the driver door. At looooow speeds. So people don't step out with the car still in Drive.
Now, this dude got Stuck. Wheels in the air.
Idle wheel speed is probably 10mph
He opend the door and steps out.
Car thinks it Goes 10mph so it won't Shift to Park. (it would damage the transmission)
He closes the door. Car Still Thinks it Goes 10 mph and avtivates the anti theft Option and locks the doors.
Remember These stupid tick tokers that steppd out of the moving car to perform some stupid dance, just to realise the doors locked while it drove through the neighbors garden and slams into a parked car.

Stupid tick toker. And dumb BMW engineer technologies. AWD? 4 inches of ground? Where the hell is this going? BMW sure think that 4 inches of ground clearance and AWD is enough to go anywhere. A WRX would always done a better jobs than a BMW when it comes to the this type of driving. This guy nee to get himself a WRX or STI if he wants to impress the world of tick tok.
@@pnweezy a subaru WRX would get just as stuck on a dune like this. You need big tires and high ground clearance to cross this.

On dodge pickup trucks that have the buttons for gear shifts, you can bypass the doors locking by switching it to drive and opening the door at the same time.
and you can see him speaking through his watch, he left the phone in the car))

Yes, if you're gonna break a window choose one of the rear quarter panels which are easier to replace. Reach in to open the door catch or open the electric window to gain access.

Ive been in that same location. In my jeep. And i didnt come close to getting stuck. But i almost got a ticket cuz some cop or something was complaining that to drive on the beach you need like a fishing permit or some such insanity.
if the the engine wasn't running he could climb through the exhaust. but then.. that would just get him inside the engine..

But who leaves their car in reverse? And how does a car lock itself?
When your car is driving. It has a auto lock mechanism so that your doors won’t fly open when your driving. And because the car is in reverse. The car thinks it’s driving. If he was stationary/ in neutral then the doors wouldn’t lock. It’s a safety feature.
Well, he got stuck first, and decided to go out while in gear to see which wheel is stuck, probably.

Well he just wanted to push the car out, but brilliant car engineers never thought that this situation could have ever happen so car just locked itself... XD
OK I understand that he found a way to lock himself out of the car and left the car in gear but why is it running when no-one inside the pressing the gas pedal ?

fault of the car. or perhaps he pressed lock stick on the door while closing it? otherwise if that's not an option, car should not lock when it senses driver isn't there while engine and wheels running. in US he can have a case and sue BMW if he endures damage perhaps, because there are specific sensor in a car that prevent this happening, so they are probably not working as they should
He jumped from the car while the car is reversing.
BMW locks all doors at speed over 10mph. (Anti theft mechanism)

@@gwot my old car has it. when I put shopping bag in the passenger seat next to me, it asks to lock the seat belt....I am pretty sure all bmw have it for more than decade

Dumb BMW technologies. And not quite smart driver/owner. 4" of ground clearance and AWD ain't gonna go anywhere but on the bare streets (asphalt). He needs to get rid of the BMW cuz it's not impressing anyone but makes himself look blush. Get a WRX or with STI.
