New episode of Goan Appetit is live!
This time, we're diving into Goa's traditional sweets and seasonal fruits enjoyed during the festival of Sao Joao. Imagine much-loved Goan sweets like patoleos, pudde, and shervyo - all these local treats made with love by a Goan family in the quaint village of Aldona, North Goa. Here, you also get to witness how the villagers come together and prepare these sweets with utmost fun and excitement.
At the same time, you can find them going around the village singing traditional Sao Joao songs and collecting dhalis - trays overflowing with seasonal goodies like jackfruit, pineapple, and mangoes, along with some wine, caju feni (Goa's cashew liquor!), and even some cash!
After visiting houses, they head to the chapel for prayer, and then it's off to the well for a jump! Of course, all this is done while singing and having a blast.
So, get ready for some serious food cravings and a glimpse into the traditions of Goa's Sao Joao! Stay tuned!"
