    Mathematical question: How do we know there is one solution to the values of Veb1 and Veb2 with non-zero input differential signal? And more importantly, can we conclude that their deviation from equilibrium condition are opposite and equal? (i presume not)

    When I tried to derive Vx-Vy by myself , I got the equation Vx-Vy = -Rc IEE tanh(Vin1-Vin2/VT) . Now I still don't know where I went wrong. :(
