Hi its me again. Might've taken me two days. But I did it.
Mission 4: Destroying the blood Elves.
So Like in the Demons be Driven mission I wanted to use just Basic units to destroy all units on the map.
Mission 4 is kind of possible with a bit of cheating. Since before you make a base you can play the mission normally as per the rules I thought it would be best to do what you did and kill the Naga Royal Guard. Funnily enough though I couldn't do it. I don't know what it was but it seems I could not kill the Naga Royal Guard. Saphhiron, Anubarak and the Death Knight just wasn't enough for me to beat the royal guard.
Then I thought wait. This mission is basically non-base building I should cheese some more. If you find every lumber pick up you can have up to 6 Siege boats. These boats tear through the Naga base. I ended up destroying the Naga base with massive casualties but that means my ghouls only have to worry about one base.
I still have some heavily damaged siege boats left and Sapphiron. I kinda noticed that I can't really place my ghouls fast enough with only 1 boat. So I got some more. I had a total of 3 boats. and then I decided to do one more thing. i destroyed there shipyard and used sapphiron to destroy any remnants of a ship clearing the path.
After that you just need to make some defenses and while getting gold and just go on the offensive and destroy the blood elves. The problem does occur with Dragon hawk riders. but you can just destroy the dragon hawk buildings and just go on the offensive when they run out of dragon hawk riders.
    The rest is as goes.
Mission 6: Destroying everything on the map.
Holy shit.... This took me longer than Demons be Driven.
Game time says 2 hours and 30 minutes. but it took me at least 20 hours of game time to find some various secrets.
How I did think took this way
First of all I think I found the 99% success rate with the Orange base avoiding fighting you. and a 100% way for the Purple base to avoid fighting you.
Instead of just 1 Necropolis. Make 1 Necropolis and 2 Ziggurats. That seems to do the trick 99% of the time. and when it doesn't saving and loading seems to do the trick lmao.
First I used your trick of the farm to avoid fighting Balanzzar for humans and for the Undead you can make a Necropolis and 1 ziggaruat on the left side inside Balanzzar's base without him noticing and this seems to work 100% of the time.
Essentially how I beat both the Orange Base and the Green Base is basically the same strategy.
Orange Base: In there area where there are banshees kill all the creeps and stockpile your ghouls. Unsummon all buildings and make a necropolis and Z's on the top left of the map. Make ziggaruts near the Dragons on the right side of hte Undead Base but try not to catch the dragons. When the orange army with the lich attacks the necropolics send your army to the bottom left that were stockpiled. Destroy the Necropolis and the Acolytes. It only took 2 waves for me to beat all there useful structers and spirit towers. Then make a 4x5 Spirit towers where you can get the 2nd gold mine and attack the lich head on. His death and decay will do some serious damage but you should be able to win in the end.
After that destroy there remaining units and you have got yourself another gold mine.
Green Base: In this area there is a flesh golem. Stockpile your footman near it. Now you can't build your town hall too far from the Green base because then they'll follow through and destroy your main base. The best position imo seems to be right before the bridge. That way they can cross it and it'll take time for them to destroy it and at the same time you can go and destroy the Necropolis and there Acolytes. After that is simple rotation.
Now very rarely but these do happen that they continue onwards after destroying your fake town hall the fix for this is to load a previous save where you are still building the Town hall right next to the town hall your were previously building. I did this twice. worked both times.
Then just build a wall of towers after all there structures are destroying and boom you have gotten another 20k gold.
The Purple Base: Now destroying the purple base is Super Easy, Barely an inconvenience. However I didn't just want to snipe Balanzzar's building. I wanted to kill balanzzar. The one thing you'll notice is that balanzzar will chase after your townhall regardless of how far it is. The thing I did was after mining all the gold on the map I placed a Necropolis far as away as possible and a town hall as far as possible. You'll notice that you have 15k MORE gold from the humans side than the undead side. I'm not really sure where this excess comes from.
Now for the human town hall since you have more gold there I made a 3x3 towers surronding the Townhall. just roughly 50 towers 3 layers thick on 3 sides. When Balanzzar attacked he died. and then I launched my offensive. Now earlier I had actually already launched my offensive but I did that with footmen to destroy the Necropolis and the acolytes to make sure they don't heal anything. After that once again simple rotation. i destroyed everything on the map. And I made sure I killed all of Balanzzar's units before destroying the final building. No "techinical victory" I destroyed the purple base.
Honestly Loved this challenge. Took so goddamn long. Holy shit.

Incredible work! I figured it was possible to destroy everything on level 6, though by the time I beat the mission I was so exhausted and happy enough just to get the win. I came close to destroying orange a few times, but couldn't do it. While watching my footage I was thinking that targeting spirit towers instead of production might just be the ticket to destroying their base, and it seems like that might be the case. I knew that if I could destroy both orange and green, then the extra gold would make purple mostly trivial, but taking out orange was the part I never managed.
I'm a bit surprised you weren't able to kill the royal guard on level 4 with your starting army. The battle was close for me, but I did manage it first try. One important thing to note is that I did lose both heroes in that battle, and I specifically targeted it down with abilities, basically ignoring everything else. Your heroes revive in the ensuing cutscene without any player input, so its not a big deal to lose them here.
I wasn't allowing myself to buy boats in level 4, but if you used your starting gold on them, I imagine that changed the math considerably. Still, nice job figuring that out, I didn't think there was a way to destroy the elven base with only ghouls there.
Very well done, I'm glad I'm not the only person who's taken the painful slog through this campaign with only commanding ghouls now. It was probably the hardest challenge I've done thus far! Definitely not a challenge I'd recommend to most, but man it is pretty satisfying to accomplish!

Ah, King Arthas. I recently decided to replay Warcraft 3 on hard normally, no challenge nuns (only one I thought of was heroes only, and I really don't want to do March of the Scourge), and King Arthas was... yeah. With that explanation, a lot now makes sense
I was really wondering how this would go. The Scourge campaign is hands down the hardest of the Warcraft 3 campaigns, so doing it even commanding ghouls only... well, yeah
Well, this was quite the ride. Balnazzar being the real final boss was not what I expected considering Symphony being the absolute hardest mission in the game. It's actually the only one I have yet to beat without cheesing it even on normal or through cheats, though I can't say I'm surprised there was a cheese tactic. That hope for humanity section was really good by the way
I am genuinely annoyed that we don't get to use the Royal Guards beyond three total. After dealing with them the whole time, it feels annoying that the enemy can just rebuild them. Small tangent, but it's something that's always bothered me
As for Sylvannas and Kael, let's just say that Kael did a blood ritual to create fake Blood Elves out of the surviving Orcs which is why they were beaten so horribly by Ghouls, and the Fish People had more underwater that rose when they heard that their comrades were slaughtered. And Sylvannas... Arthas felt bad that she died so he commanded a statue be created in her honor as a stalwart defender of her land to commemorate who she was in life
This has been a very fun series and I'd say it reached an amazing conclusion. Sure, the last mission needed shades, but since they only really detect, I think they can be used. There's probably a lot I can't remember that I wanted to mention, but I can safely say I loved every bit of it

Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments, I've loved reading all of them through this journey, and have come to look forward to them every time I've released a WC3 video. :)
As for specifics here, if my explanation of King Arthas saves even one person from a torturous experience while playing this level, than it was worth it. I learned while playing this challenge that Its actually not that hard a level once you understand how it works, but if you make a wrong move, it can get overwhelming really quickly. Its just a super misleading level that tricks you in to making it harder than it really is.
Unfortunately for Symphony, its in the range where without cheese, its definitely not remotely doable with the challenge, but with the cheese, its more long and boring than it is super challenging. I've only beaten the level once on hard mode normally, and only just barely. Its a super challenging level. The dreadlords, meanwhile, were all ridiculously frustrating to fight in this run, but I felt so accomplished beating them!
I like the way the royal guard worked in Return to Northrend, where only one guarded the blood elf base, and never got replaced. That feels more in line with the way they were intended to be, a few ridiculously powerful guards rather than just... absurd anti-everything units that the enemy gets in mass.
I love your explanation for the story! Definitely going to treat that as canon now! There even were surviving orcs in the last blood elf level behind the trees I never destroyed, so its a 100% valid interpretation.
This is the end of my WC3 series, but I still plan on making other fun videos in the future, the next couple being about a nuzlocke race of pokemon platinum! I'm glad you've enjoyed this series, and I hope you stick around for the future!

@@redwings13400 I've definitely loved every single one of your Warcraft videos, so yeah, it was definitely the highlight of my days whenever I'd see you upload one
Oh boy, King Arthas. What a mess of a mission. I hate it and love it at the same time. I like the idea of the mission to stop humans from passing, but in general, controlling allied bases tends to annoy me in these missions (add to it Brothers Stormrage and New Power), but this one really takes it in terms of annoyance. Yeah, from what you explained, taking any of the bases out of order leads to hell. That actually explains a lot of my experience with it
Yeah, I figured. The only time I beat it with cheese was in Reforged actually, so I had that fps slider too. I did not expect it to be done here without cheese, but I will say it was an epic form of cheese
Yeah, that is probably the best way to use Royal Guards. One or two in key areas that are difficult to deal with and protect the spots they are given (secret loot, main base, etc.). Instead, we get units that take up the same supply as a Myrmidon (4 each, I have checked), have as much health and damage as a level 10 demon hunter without being upgraded, and can be created casually. I get why we can't use them as frequently as they'd invalidate most missions, but come one
Yep. There are more than enough orcs for it to work. I'll grant my reasoning for the Naga was a lot less creative than the extra Blood Elves one, but to be fair, with how many Naga they train in the missions where we play against them, they do feel like they reproduce through mitosis at times. Maybe they have a single Naga that constantly splits every time
Well, seeing as I am also a big Pokemon fan, I'm definitely sticking around for that. I remember trying to Nuzlocke Platinum a while ago but I stopped then got better then changed how I Nuzlocke so I'm gonna have to restart. I'll see you again in the future for sure

The level is creative and has some interesting elements to it. My main issue with it is just how it punishes the player for making progress. If the player tries to be aggressive and kill off as many farms as fast as possible to get ahead of the game, they're going to find themselves facing the same amount of enemies or even more enemies than someone who goes slow and defends.
I'm not a fan of that design philosophy. I'm also not naturally a micro player so I probably wouldn't love this level regardless, but I think it could be a really cool level with a few level design tweaks!

Huh, I’m surprised you found the detheroc mission harder than the balnazzar one. Defending attack waves is pretty much impossible in this level, but once I got rid of all the necropolises in my main base and lured attack waves to the upper left of the map, destroying enemy buildings was somewhat doable. I feel like I got pretty close to destroying everything on the map on my actual playthrough, I just needed to be a bit more efficient, leave the right building alive to not end the mission early, then get static defense to destroy the final army before beating the level.
Both of these levels are completely absurd, but I found balnazzar a bit harder personally. :)

So I did Footmen "only" mission with the Detheroc's mission
So with two banshees to the left of the heroes there are two peasents. Possess them and boom.
So you can't do this mission with just Peasents and Footmen. As you don't have enough gold and Lumbar to create buildings. So my rules were this.
Can you do Detheroc's mission with just peasents, Footmen, Acolytes and Ghouls.
Ghouls were killed after the sneak attack was over. to be within spirit of the run.
After building a town hall before the sneak attack is over you can defend the entire with human towers. These things are cheap strong as hell and can be made quicker on a smaller space. Its actually pretty crazy. I was able to pretty easily defend against Detheroc's base because of this.
Before just mass building Footmen. I actually wanted to see if I could pull something special. I tried to make towers inside the bases to destroy the necropolis and Human bases. Sadly you can only do this to destroy the first human and undead base but the main bases doesn't have enough area to get it done. Maybe there is a way but I can't tell.
Human Maxed Out > Ghouls Maxed Out. I was able to destroy Detheroc's Necropolis and all of his acolytes while remaining in the no upkeep section at 18 Footman.

although DAMN, i thought that the last mission is impossible even if you use ghosts because sometimes the ai will just nuke the necropolis then move on to the base, as well as the balnazzar one. well done

Hmm... Honestly, I'm not sure! Depends on what your definition of not building anything is. Are you basically saying no structures and no units? No structures? No units? In this challenge, I'd have to rely a lot on my heroes, and I feel like some of the later missions of each campaign would be pretty tough if not impossible.
I really don't know how that would go though, so feel free to try it and report back!

"While Arthas was on his way to go create the ultimate footmen he accidently took a left instead of a right and ended up in hell and now has to fight dead people" boom fixed your almost-lore. It would also explain why Arthas and spiderman revived, they are in hell of course they would be alive again.
OMG you should the sneak mission but footmen only as undead

    • @redwings13400
      @redwings13400  Год назад +1

Hmm, that works I guess, lol. I approve of you calling my scripts almost-lore, because they almost have lore level coherence.
Also, you mean like… possess a peasant in the sneak attack, build up a human base, then beat that level with only footmen? That’s intriguing, but also absolutely insane and sounds absurdly impossible lol.
I mean, it would be cool though…

@@redwings13400 Either that or posess all of their footmen. I am now equally obsessed with footmen to the point where I feel personally offended by you not drawing attention to the first stage of Warcraft 2 and the second stage of Warcraft 3 demanding that you create footmen, I half expected you to zoom in on those requirements and somehow turn it into an almost-lore piece

When you position Arthas and Anubarak, and else (mission 4) during the transition of micro to macro mission. Do you put them in Hold Position or in Defense?

    • @redwings13400
      @redwings13400  Год назад

Just regular defense. I didn't give them any commands at all post cutscene, the only thing that carried over was carion beetle being set to autocast.
Upon editing this video, I now think it doesn't matter, because I think your heroes and starting units are moved to that location during the cutscene regardless, which means that a hold position command probably wouldn't have worked anyway. At the time I played and scripted the video, I thought I had put them in a good defensive location, but after looking over the footage, I think the game just naturally put them in that position and it happened to be a pretty good one this time for defending my main base. I also don't think hold position would have helped, since it would have made the heroes incredibly vulnerable to any ranged attackers.
