    Thank You Boston Red Sox. I've been a Red Sox fan since 1986. Dealt with the curse, the ghosts in Yankee stadium, Aaron Boone, Bucky Dent. Boy how the tables have turned since 2004. This wild card win and Yankee elimination will never be forgotten! Thank God!

    2004 really swung the momentum in this rivalry. Outside of 2009 (trust me, I know), the Yankees have been nowhere near the Red Sox' level since then. Both in terms of overall success and head-to-head. Boston owns them.

He was just telling Higashioka 'Im out' cause he could see Boone coming/had made the call and Higgy hadn't, it wasn't like he was quitting. But definitely a losing performance he'd been off for 3 or 4 starts in a row something physical/mechanical.

      The biggest blunder was the base running by Stanton thinking it was a homer. If he were running like Jeter he could have scored an inside the park homer.

    This was by far the greatest sporting event I've ever been to. The atmosphere in and around Fenway Park that night was something I would pay alot of money in order to experience again. Absolutely unreal.

    I saw the game, so this is probably obvious, but it bears mentioning: the Red Sox won because they did the little things so well in this game. Too one-dimensional on the Yankees side, particularly on offense. Good, steady defense, a good starting pitching performance, and most importantly, tremendously good patience combined with good situational hitting. When the little things work well, it can really be fun to watch.

      You're preaching to the choir @Lloyd Bonafide. The Yankees have a lot of work to do. No doubt about it! As a Yankees fan, the pendulum swung to the Red Sox side since 2004. From my observation, the Red Sox have have batters that make timely hits. I agree with @Henry about the Giants. It's amazing the Giants developed insane success after they cut ties with Barry Bonds. I saw an interesting statistic about Bonds, I couldn't believe he never reached 3000 hits!

    it is amazing that AL East have 4 teams fighting for playoffs. Coming back in mid season, we see that in 2019 with Nationals. It is not luck, it is determination. People are more surprised by Sox Yank Jays not performing well in the first half than suddenly performing well.
