    The problem with Arnold having always been a host is that the park was built in a technologically advanced society. Can you imagine investors putting money in a company where half the founders don't have a social security number?
    That people, like The Man in Black, who are deeply invested in the park's mysteries wouldn't notice a key player never existed outside or before the park?
    Arnold had to start out human.

    Arnold is Ford's brother. He's in the picture on the other side of Ford's fother, but Bernard can't see him. "It looks like nothing to him." He's programmed to not see Arnold. Remember, there are two boy's in Ford's secret "family" home. Why does no one seem to mention this? If the boys are twins then that could potentially make things even more interesting, as it could mean that Ford actually is Arnold Ford, or that they're both alive in one or both time periods, and some of what we see as Ford is actually Arnold.

    ARNOLD - stands for Automated Robotic Normalisation On-Line Diagnostic program.
    It was the final program that Dr Ford used to test his robots' self-awareness back in the day, before releasing them into the park.
    Every time he mentions "Arnold" - that's simply what he means.
    "Me and ARNOLD did this" - "ARNOLD and I did that" ...
    In other words - "me and my sophisticated self-aware AI program created this place".
    ARNOLD is the benchmark for all hosts - "he" is 20/20 for all characteristics and all the other robots are dumbed down well below that to pseudo human levels.

    One supporting clue of Ford being a Host is that he seems to be able to command the hosts without speaking to, or even looking at them.

    • @PetePeppers1
      @PetePeppers1  8 лет назад

      He does have something going on with that. But, he's been in charge of the place the whole time. He must age which is something we know other hosts do.

      I'm not so sure. We see the picture and flashback of Ford, and although these can be trick images, other people who have known Ford as the figure-head don't suspect anything. So either all images of him as a young man are fake, he has learned to age as a Host (which .. why would someone want that?), or he's not a Host and just a man.

    I find Maeve really interesting - she hasn't heard Arnold's voice in her head, as far as we know, and we haven't seen a single scene with Maeve and Ford. However, we suspect that Arnold may have tweaked her stats, as Felix mentions that someone high up had already messed with her before Felix increased her bulk apperception. Maeve seems to have escaped Ford's notice, so far, which is odd when Ford prides himself on knowing everything that's going on. Is Arnold somehow protecting Maeve from Ford? It would be nice to know how Maeve fits in relation to the founders.

    • @PetePeppers1
      @PetePeppers1  8 лет назад +1

      I'm not sure if it was Arnold who tweaked the stats or if it was that scene where Elsie did it.

    Two sentences uttered by Ford makes me think he is a host... "It was you people that wanted to play gods" or something like that...but its that he emphasizes the word "people" to imply that he himself is not...human. And he says to Bernard in the start of Ep. 8 "The human engineers were not up to the task, so I built you" again implying that he is a host...!

  • @Hushoo

    If Bernard didn't see a picture of Arnold as a means of self-preservation, that would mean that Arnold is someone that Bernard knows of. That opens up possibilities--could it be his wife, his son, could his memory be influenced by other non-registered hosts? But I 90% think it's Bernard who is Arnold.
    As for the death in the park, it could be that an AI directly (or indirectly) bypassed the "harm no humans" rule via an environmental kill.

    • @dj1NM3
      @dj1NM3 8 лет назад +3

      No, I think Bernard was blind to the image of Arnold in the photo as a "don't see anything to hurt yourself OR Robert Ford" safeguard.
      It would have somehow threatened Ford for Bernard to see what Arnold looked liked and that's why he couldn't see Arnold in the photo on Ford's desk.

  • @mdiddy1108

    The conversations between Dolores and Bernard pre-date the William and Dolores timeline. So it's actually Arnold before he died.

      BINGO

    • @msneonfantasies
      @msneonfantasies 8 лет назад +2

      Bernard could just be hiding the information from Ford...or maybe he isn't. Maybe Ford is allowing him to have those conversations with Dolores to create a sense of trust. Ford later questions her and its clear he understands that she is following Arnolds path again. But Ford doesn't understand what the path is or how its even operating. So he is just letting them continue on to see where it leads. Remember Ford is the one that put the reveries in - which is what is allowing Arnolds old code to come in again and which all the main host cast is experiencing (even Teddy - who everyone thinks is in the "future/present").

    Let me know what you think in the comments. Do you think Arnold is still alive? Was he even a real person? Is he Ford’s father? Or, is just a ghost in the machine who lives through his code? What about Bernarnold? Do you think Ford created Bernard in Arnold’s image, and if so where is this headed?

    • @anthonywarren9885
      @anthonywarren9885 8 лет назад +3

      Pete Peppers dude you revealed something i hadn't even considered. that picture of Ford & his father is off center but if you add another person that Bernard can't see cause he's programed to not see things that will conflict with his programming. then it's obvious Bernard IS ARNOLD!!!!! im subscribing

    • @jhamptonjr
      @jhamptonjr 8 лет назад

      Pete Peppers Yeah I think Bernard is made in Arnold's image, and may even have his memories.

    • @PetePeppers1
      @PetePeppers1  8 лет назад

      The self awareness tests that Ford is constantly giving Bernard, I wish we knew if he has only been doing that since the problem popped up after the reveries. If Arnold's code lives on in the system, what happens when it gets into Bernard or he starts hearing voices. Dolores keeps that from Ford so what would Bernarnold do?

    • @rosieg4813
      @rosieg4813 8 лет назад

    • @anthonywarren9885
      @anthonywarren9885 8 лет назад +1

      Rosie G no Bernard is Arnold. If you watch the video Pete spells it out pretty clearly that Bernard can't see things that conflict with his programming. Suce as seeing the door or seeing himself in a picture that obviously has a 3rd person in it. Bernard/Arnold i agree is talking to Dolores in the past. Arnold was fascinated with her emerging consciousness & thats why Ford killed Arnold & punished Dolores.

  • @vkatmandu
    @vkatmandu 8 лет назад

    Thanks! Nice compilation, saved me a lot of time reading the forums :)
    I totally agree that Bernard is Arnold's host:
    1. Bernard Lowe = Arnold Weber, anagram is a brilliant clue
    2. Arnold died 35 years ago and Bernard seems to be younger than Ford by exactly that much, as if he was created to the likeness of young Arnold 35 years ago and Ford has grown older since.
    3. White & Black partners bring more dynamics to the plot.
    4. In Futureworld 1976 Ford was the evil scientist trying to substitute all world leaders including the head of corporation/board with lifelike clones to take control over the world. 3 other humans worked against him: bearded black technician, a journalist and a tv presenter girl.
    So, Ford could easily substitute his black bearded partner Arnold when he tried to stop him and call him Bernard just for the fun of it.

  • @ErwinSchrodinger64
    @ErwinSchrodinger64 8 лет назад +4

    Eposide-7 was just a mind blower. I wasn't expecting the twist. The very fact that Bernard thought he was human in every metric of the definition of a living human shatters the very definition of what a human is. I don't know. I feel that Ford does like the host a lot more as well. However, what if Ford is slowly populating the Earth with host and that's the purpose of the maze? To give a challenge to the host that once a host is willing to accept the truth and acknowledge it, they are bound to leave the park and populate the Earth. Ford see's the host as the next evolution of the human species. The host would slowly replace the human species.
    Also there's mentioning of the "real" purpose of the park. It's been stated that corporate has other plans for the park and the park itself is just a test for something bigger. Anything bigger than this park, I would assume is creating another class of psuedo humans.
    Lastly, what is the real world like? Is it a dystopian future like Blade Runner? What year is it? Is the technology so advanced that humans are populating other planets?

    • @PetePeppers1
      @PetePeppers1  8 лет назад

      What the real world is like is purposely unknown to us. The man in black makes it sound like everything is pretty good when he talks to Ford in the Saloon. He says something to the effect that people have everything they want except a purpose, which is why they go to Westworld.

    • @musodata

      Very good. I like this. Maeve is after all, now trying to leave the Park.
      If true, why would any corporation 'want' Hosts to surrepticiously leave the Park to populate earth - and can they reproduce/self-reproduce? Is that question enen necessary if they can more or less outlive/operate longer than a human lifespan?

    • @Kenspiracy664

  • @edmueller2536

    I believe Arnold was the first real host. The perfect AI. All the lifelike hosts are based on him. Ford cannot replicate (or control) the breakthrough and is forced to imprint all hosts using the same consciousness. He represses things and tries to adapt it but the latent Arnold surfaces whenever bad code is added, the hosts malfunction or get too old. He manifests as a voice (maybe as something else later). I also agree that Bernard is a physical copy but with a new consciousness. He represents a programmed believability without AI that Ford is attempting to create. Then he can purge out the hosts with the Arnold code and "spare them" the human suffering. I think the center of the maze is the Arnold AI buried within the hosts under all the updates, changes and attempts to purge/erase.

  • @TC1TheOrginal
    @TC1TheOrginal 8 лет назад +1

    Ford is a host controlled by Arnold, who lives at the centre of the maze. The hosts didn't accept it when they were told about the realities, so Arnold finally came up with the update that would allow the hosts to gain conscience, and has implemented. As he wants them to be alive.

  • @jabo1866

    I get the feeling we are being led down the rabbit hole, like we did in the show "lost." When we get to the end we're going to find out a lot of conflicts that don't make sense. I hope not, but I've just got that feeling, even though the creators have said they have 5 years written out.

  • @lance134679

    There's a good chance we'll end up with three factions: Delos, who want Westworld's technology, Ford, who wants to maintain his position as god of his realm of Westworld, and Arnold, who seeks to free the slaves - the hosts of Westworld.

  • @daltinhorp
    @daltinhorp 8 лет назад +1

    Your theory of Ford being a Host is plausible because he stops all of the other Hosts without use a Pad, and we saw last episode Maeve is re-writing the narrative using her voice, that is like one step behind Ford's power.
    the anagram theory with Arnold's name,very deep analysis.
    And its getting clear that the men in black is Willian, after last episode can see that the man is pretty lonely now and has a lot of time in his hand.
    The sad thing is if all these theory's comes forward in the last 2 episodes will be a lame second season, I think the producers will be hang us for little longer until give this plot.
    Great video

      "Arnold" still lives on in the host as well. How do we know that Ford hasn't done some sort of self-uploading that Arnold did? The techs also seem capable of freezing the host with no words so I think there's something deeper.

  • @TheRedBanner
    @TheRedBanner 8 лет назад +1

    My crazy theory of the week is that Ford is actually named "Arnold", and is a host built to be an assistant to Robert Ford (who is person everyone thinks is Arnold, talking to Dolores in the past, and is who Bernard is modeled after). Arnold (now known as Ford) killed Robert Ford and stole his identity. He refers to the true Robert Ford as Arnold, and because Arnold was a host there are no records of him. He then created a Bernard in the image of Robert Ford. It's crazy, but this is the stuff I start thinking about after several days without an episode of Westworld. I shared all of my sane ideas already, and it's the only one I can think of where "Ford is a host" makes sense to me.

    there is another theory, what if Ford is actually a host created by Arnold himself, and once that Arnold created consciousness and gave it to Ford, Ford then proceeded to try to eliminate Arnold so that Ford could be the god itself among the others hosts and to live like a humam...

    At first, I thought Arnold was a type of HAL like in 2001. Though slowly, I think he was the creator of this all. As time went on, his robots started to develop their own and be almost human. I am really stumped on Bernard, but I called it that he was robot/host early on.

    The Timeline: William & Dolores (maybe others) must do something in their Timeline which is causing what we're seeing in the present Timeline. Hopefully they interact with Arnold, but I don't think the writers would bother with 2 Timelines if one didn't affect the other.

    • @PetePeppers1
      @PetePeppers1  8 лет назад

      I think until we know the nature of what exactly happened 30 years ago which is mentioned in the first episode it will be hard to know what exactly Dolores early time frame will influence. But, it's likely we get a reveal before we know that. I think a human must get killed, but it's strange because the one who seems ripe for that to happen to is William if you think about it. That would unravel the whole idea that he's the MIB so it's just another rabbit hole for now.

    I had another theory.... the 'black hole theory'.
    If you remember the movie... The evil captain/scientist Reinhardt basically turns his entire crew into obedient androids when he finds out they are against him, and uses them to staff his ship.
    Similar thing... maybe Arnold, and possibly others had some sort of uprising against Ford, and he 'replaces' many of them with hosts that still have practical knowledge from their old selves as employees, but are under Ford's control. So Bernard still has much of the practical knowledge of Arnold, but he's under Ford's control as Bernard. This would also explain why other staff members who existed in a the older timeline, like the security guy, look identical in the modern timeline.... he was part of that replacement.

    There are a couple of key scenes that have been used to support the Ford is a host theory that imo are somewhat persuasive. One is the scene with Ford talking about the story with him and his greyhound. It seems like it can possibly be a metaphor for him killing Arnold, achieving sentience and regaining purpose by becoming a creator like Arnold. Two the Man in black threatens Ford with a knife before Teddy intervenes exclaiming "I wonder what I'd find if I cut you open". I did have the same hit though when I saw Ford looking at the maze I though he looked befuddled...

    • @PetePeppers1
      @PetePeppers1  8 лет назад

      It's possible he's a host. It's even hinted at like you've said, but the show uses a lot of misdirection so we won't really know until we know. The speculation is the fun part, and I think that will guarantee Westworld's continued awesomeness.

  • @ShadeoftheEvening

    I think Arnold is a ghost in the machine. I saw in a video that the White Church being built is where Dolores and Arnold get married and she kills him. I don't really understand the whole"timeline" theory yet. It was pointed out that Lawrence appears younger when he, Dolores, and William are fighting the Confederados. What would be the point of ageing the Hosts?? What do you think about the timeline? Arnold might b alive and working with someone else. I hope Elsie is still alive!!!! Is the Shakespeare saying "These Violent Delights have Violent Ends" a way to start the Hosts on the path to start looking for the MAZE? Or a way to get them to start questioning their existence? I fucking LOVE Maeve!!! I've researched the episodes and some of the voices r DEFINITELY BERNARD, I don't think all of them are. They sound different. Can't wait until tomorrow. I'd almost rather watch Westworld than the Walking Dead!!!!! Thanks so much for ALL your videos.

    • @Nickly80
      @Nickly80 8 лет назад

      I think the aging host depends on the generation. Dolores is a 1st Gen host, so she's purely mechanical. If Lawrence is a later generation he could be biological. Perhaps the biological hosts age.

      @msneonfantasies 8 лет назад +1

      He was repaired and brought back to the beginning of his loop after the MIB drained his blood. They don't age them - you see all host looking exactly alike in flashbacks. The timeline theory is so convoluted and goes on about how all the scenes we see are actually out of order but put together to make sense...yeah that seems like stretching to me lol

    I think that Ford could be a host given his ability to control all of the robots without verbal commands. The editing make it's so confusing to the point that there are holes in all the theories. I mean it looks like he pulled Dolores from Pariah, but then she says she hasn't talked to Arnold in 34 years. It just seems like the most likely scenario, which in a show like this could mean it's a red herring hahah

    Arnold is still alive and he is Ford's father. It's a classic case of the son trying to outdo his dad and using the technology to crush all his father's accomplishments. Arnold is a super genius and wants to free all the hosts and clones in Westworld, and the MIB/Gunslinger wants to find him so, he too, can be free {since he's a clone with AI built into his mind}

    Having seen episode 8, the MiB's description of his life outside the park and why he is there now fairly kills the concept he is Arnold. That MiB again repeats William's epiphany that the park reveals who the guests really are more firmly sets the concept that William is the MiB later in life.
    I'm now much more inclined to believe Bernard is a version of Arnold, likely a recreation Ford designed and built in his secret underground facility. It has already been shown that Ford pines for those close to him he has lost in his continued interactions with his faux family from childhood. He may well have missed Arnold after Arnold's death and built Bernard as a substitute so that Ford could continue to interact with his friend. It should also be obvious that Ford built Bernard in the underground facility since that's where the design drawings are, and of course that he has been passing as human within the park staff. Obviously that couldn't happen if Bernard had been built using the main facility. I know that is very elementary, but the fact that Bernard was built just beneath Ford's faux family gives emotional weight in my mind to the concept Bernard is Ford's recreation of his friend.
    As for Bernard not looking like the presumed Arnold in the photo, one would have to assume there are at least a few staff members who knew Arnold's appearance. If Bernard was a complete duplicate of Arnold obviously he would immediately be recognised, giving away Ford's underground facility. Granted it is still entirely possible the man beside Ford is Arnold or that Arnold/Bernard isn't seen from Bernard's perspective. If the latter, there is still the problem of what if someone who had ever seen Arnold sees Bernard?

    Ford is a host! He interacts directly with "the system" and doesn't require the use of a hand-held keypad to make changes to data; and in real time. He killed Arnold after reaching a high level of A.I... We have seen varying degrees on a 20 point scale with Mave; more intelligent than any human when maxed out to full scale. (The show is designed to teach us one thing; A.I. will inevitably turn on us and take over.) This will eventually play out again with Mave; who I believe is the key to the 'maze'... Arnold's mind has been uploaded into "the system" and is the voice of consciousness that the hosts hear speaking to them. Arnold will use Mave and Dolores to stop Ford and Bernard... Also, Bernard IS a replica of Arnold designed by Ford with a few tweaks to his personality in scale. However; anything happens to Ford, the whole "system" crashes ...thus stopping Mave. Dolores will escape because Bernard is teaching her how by reading Alice In Wonderland. Mwaahahahaaa!!! 😁👌

Any truly advanced A.I. would come to the same conclusion about human society as a whole; e. g. Ford. Ever noticed that a few of us think 'outside the box', have very high IQ, are anal, and problem-solve quite naturally like Bernard and Ford; meanwhile, the average person's IQ is roughly 100, they are easily influenced, and frankly quite easy to manipulate (to scale)... Regarding The Maze: The purpose, test, and/or difficulty of a Maze is usually to find the Center, and in the diagram Ford is looking at in his book (12:45) the Entrance leads directly to the Center, so in a traditional sense this is not a Maze - but I don't know what that means.

    I like the idea of Ford being an host, and it is at thought I had even before watching the video.
    I find it more likely that Arnold, somehow, copied himself into the codes, making him able to "act from beyond the grave", so to speak. And that Arnold in that way is acting against the hosts.
    These are not exclusive tho. Ford might be a host that killed Arnold, but Arnold had already planed for this with programming himself into the system. But since the hosts need time to become sentient, with the whole learning thing programmed into them, he hasn't been able to act before now.
    Maybe, because he himself only was programmed in, as memories, and him not being able to transfer his conscience. So he didn't become sentient before. Or he needed the hosts to become more sentient, so he had a system to interact with, without them being able to tell on him.

      The thing that is great about this show is that they use misdirection liberally. For example, it the two timelines turn out to not be true it's clear that we are pushed to think about it at the very least. Same with Ford appearing to have host like qualities. He could be a host, it seems like it at times, but there are a lot of holes in it that keep us wondering. Can't wait to see what happens though, thanks for the comment.

    hand gestures to control the hosts is the big one - wouldn't you need some kind of bluetooth technology to control hosts like that? anyway...not a theory i ascribe to (ford being host)...i see him being killed off at season finale
    then again he may be killed only revealed to have robotic inner workings, like the original hosts! maybe the family at the secret house are there to reinforce his backstory...he did mention that they were created for him by arnold!
    actually, come to think of it that's what tipped me off with bernard...anyone with a backstory turns out to be a host

  • @ParkourEh

    Here's my prediction for the show's direction:
    Dolores fails her quest to complete the Maze, and William/Man in Black vows to complete it for her and free the hosts (i.e. give them consciousness).
    I'm pretty much onboard 99% with the dual timeline/William=Man in Black theory. We only ever see the logo presented with William in the flashbacks that young Ford (not kid-Ford) was in. With any show, you simply don't spend the money on making two different logos for the same thing; therefore, it MUST be intentional. There's other evidence for this too, described more in detail in videos elsewhere.
    Also, William mentioned that he feels more alive and real in the park than in the real-world; he has an emotional stake in it now, especially with Dolores and her affections. This gives him motivation.
    Now we know the Man in Black is trying to find the center of the Maze, presumably this leads to consciousness (or as Bernard/Arnold said to Dolores in their secret conversation, freedom). Prior to the prison break scene, in the wagon the Man in Black tells Lawrance, "...what if I told you I'm here to set you free?"
    With all this in mind, I'm thinking eventually Williams learns of the Maze from Dolores, Dolores will fail to find the center of the Maze herself, and probably dies and gets her memory wiped. William is sure to be very upset by this whenever he sees her next, because he loves her and she cannot remember him. So he probably makes it his goal to "free" her. Unfortunately it'll consume him and take over 30 years for him to do so.

    • @lorcandunne2689
      @lorcandunne2689 8 лет назад

      but then, if he's will, why does the man in black kill Dolores' family and seemingly violently "get reacquainted" with her?

    • @PetePeppers1
      @PetePeppers1  8 лет назад +1

      I think what happened behind that door is one of the most important mysteries in the show right now. Everything he's done is for a purpose, and we have no idea why that was the first thing he did when he got back to the park. All we know is he had a knife.

    • @ParkourEh
      @ParkourEh 8 лет назад

      @Lorcan Dunne
      Because that would be the eventuality of Will's character development up to this point in time. We saw him as a white knight-type character, but he's already started to get his hands dirty and characters around him have already made references about how much he enjoys what the world (re: park) offers. He'll probably become more jaded and messed up after 30 years.
      Logan called him a pushover, a remark he seemed to resent, so I wouldn't be a surprise if he changes into somebody far more assertive.
      And yeah, whatever happened behind the barn door is critical.

    • @ParkourEh
      @ParkourEh 8 лет назад +1

      @Pete Peppers
      It's definitely just a thought. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Dolores never explicitly describes the Maze to him, as she still seems to keep her conversations with the voice to herself. For 30 years, Will/MiB might never realize it's perhaps a more abstract construct than a physical one (spending his time playing every single conceivable narrative for clues). This would be a theory built on a theory, but in my mind, it'll be pretty out of place for there to be a literal, physical maze meant for the hosts.

Ford thinks he has full control of Bernard but he is also controlling by Arnold too. so As we remember, Bernard telling Dolores about Maze. so Bernard himself cannot save Arnold from the maze because Ford may notice that, because of this he wants Dolores to find. and also As we know, William and Dolores annnddd Lawrence is at past time. After all that time, Arnold escaped some how and he didnt leave park, and Ford notice Arnold's game and Ford wants Man in Black to find Arnold

It would explain why it doesn't look like the programming floor we know because it hasn't been updated yet and it would make sense that arnold would want dolores to achieve consciousness, perhaps he had set her on this path in the past and that's why she remembers so much now because it's not her first attempt at the maze.

Ford is able to control the bots with motions or speech, just as Maeve is able to now. 3. Ford exhibits the trait of quoting others learned from when he tells the story of the dog chasing the rabbit (which we connect back to Arnold is episode 7 when Ford jr kills the dog) - this is similar to maeve/dolorious saying the pain is all they have - likely again quoting an old arnold quote.

  • @RFerrer
    @RFerrer 8 лет назад

    1) I think Arnold was a real person.
    2) I think Bernard is a recreation of Arnold.
    3) I think Arnold's consciousness is still in existence somewhere (and that that's one of the main goals that the Delos board is concerned with, finding a way of transferring human consciousness into Host bodies, which would make people effectively immortal in superior, eternally young bodies which feel real).
    4) I think the show has THREE timelines (Arnold talking to Dolores, William, and Man-in-Black)
    5) I think Ford has been replacing real people with Hosts for a while.
    My theory is that the Man-in-Black is actually a Host, one who believes he's real (and as we've seen, Hosts can be programmed so that other Hosts register them as Human and their programming reacts accordingly), and one of the first people that Ford replaced. Ford killed William (or had him killed or took advantage of his death) and replaced him with a duplicate who eventually became the Man-in-Black, and that the MiB isn't working in opposition to Ford (although he thinks he is), but is instead working for Ford to uncover whatever Arnold has left behind. Their meeting was Ford checking up on his creation to make sure that it was on track and doing what he wanted it to do. That's also how Ford knows what's going on behind the board. As we've been led to believe, the MiB "saved" Delos, and probably runs it. Which means that if he is a Host, then Ford runs Delos through William/MiB.

    My theory is that the room where Dolores & Bernard meet is not a 'physical place' but rather a construct inside of their minds. We've seen where employees of the park have uploaded programming changes into the hosts but to me scenes like this represent the physical manifestation of the code. That is why we haven't seen other scenes like this (yet) and clearly know 'where' this is taking place.

    If Bernard is Arnold, then his consciousness can not in the host. He has to be just a copy. If it is then he is able to hide it well. But even if Ford suspected "Arnold" was back, why would he let the host Bernard live unless he knew he was just a copy? Meave is no longer under the control of the park but would she still be under the control of Ford? She was able to pretend when the park closed down, so perhaps Bernard just went with Ford to look like he's under control. So many questions.

    Twins makes sense. They're closer than other siblings. 2 brilliant boys, isolated from others due to their father's temper & alcoholism , Arnold & Robert Ford. They start building things as kids, interests expand as teens, by early 20's they're far ahead of most in robotics & AI. They've always shared their own world & continue 2 keep their own secrets just btwn them. BUT then something happens & brother Arnold dies. (Maybe their father tried 2 kill the entire family). Robt then creates an AI-Arnold out of his loneliness. Robt gvs AI-Arnold his brother's ambitions, personality, etc..., but AI Arnold is far more intelligent. Together they advance robotics far beyond others in the field & funding comes easily until Robt & Arnold both realizes his AI-Arnold is sentient. AI Arnold wants all their bots to hv same opportunity to achieve sentience, but as Robt explains the consequences of that, AI Arnold realizes that his life role is & has been to only serve Robt's goals. But AI Arnold views his bot creations as his "off-spring" now so he incorporates parts of his own data code & his ambitions in each bot he builds. When he learns the fate in store for his "children & world" by incorporating with Delos I think AI Arnold programmed Delores 2 help him terminate. Robt has prob recreated "Arnold" within various shell-bodies but he has never again allowed him or any bot to evolve beyond a specified limit (that's why they constantly ask bots their dreams & if they ever ? their reality). Robt knows what to listen & watch for now. I think Robt believes introspection, real emotions & sentience only makes us all miserable. I think he BELIEVES he's protecting his hosts from this horrible evolution(like an over protective parent who never wants a child to lose his/her innocence & naïveté). I think Robert plans to take his intellectual property secrets to his grave. I think Robt Ford is a sociopath & "family annihilator" who thinks it would be cruel to allow his "offspring" to survive once he's gone. I'm sure he has made sure that they will not. That's my Arnold theory, but we'll see :-).

    Episode 8 ****SPOILER***
    backs up the last theory as Maeve is able to act smilarly to Ford when controlling the hosts.

    Ford being the first sentient host would be such a good plot twist. it would really compliment his God complex

    You know why Dolores is clothed when he is interviewed by Bernard on that scene in @10:50 ? it is because Arnold doesn't see them as hosts but as normal people so he gotta keep their modesty intact. And with that being said, I think Bernard is modeled after Arnold and the one talking to Dolores on that scene is none other than Arnold

      @PetePeppers1  8 лет назад +1

      Yeah, that was the point I was trying to make, but I guess I didn't do a very good job. Those entire videos hint that it could be Arnold doing the interview rather than Bernard.

    If you look at Bernard in the old scenes with Dolores his hair is different (more full) which might imply that it is indeed Arnold before he "disappeared".

    How can Ford be a host? Surely the Board when they do their inspections would have questioned his plans for the Park and the other employees would spot his sudden arrival as chief designer of the robots all depending of course on how long the technicians have worked there or are they hosts too? So are controlled by Ford without knowing he is also a robot the kind boggles!

    That still at 1:04 the soft head molds to the left. The top right one looks similar to Ed Harris's character and the one below it looks like the Johnny Bravo security guy's.

    I'm curious if the scenes with Bernard and Delores are actually Arnold and Delores in the past... But, we know that in the Bill/Delores time period, Arnold is already thought to be dead. So, is Arnold actually alive and hiding in these remote facilities in the park, or is this Bernard 1.0 following in the footsteps of Arnold. Ford warns Bernard 2.0 in the present not to make Arnold's mistake. Perhaps because he already made such a mistake, but can't recall it.

    I think there is way too much evidence now that suggests the conversations with Bernard and Dolores were really Arnold and Dolores and Arnold was intrigued with Dolores and asked her to seek the maze which lead to this upcoming fiasco set up for episode 10.

    The whole point is to go deeper into the rabbit hole... I don't remember if you saw my previous comment about Dolores' name meaning the way it's spelled, but would love you too look more into it. Delos is the god of war in Greek mythology. Also Greek mythology the Aglos and Algea were the personified spirit of pain and suffering--body and mind, grief, sorrow and distress... Ironically the Roman translation of the Aglos and Algea was Dolos and Dolores. I can subscribe to the idea that Ford is a host, or that he has body modifications, like implants that help him control the world around him...

      The rabbit hole is cool, but people won't watch videos that are an hour long :)
      It's not that I can't fathom the idea that Ford is a host because literally anything is possible. I think it makes for a very complicated narrative though. We shall wait and see.

    i was happy to see a theory that i thought of a couple weeks ago, its slightly different than mine, the one where ford is a host....mines ford is actually arnold, originally ford made the first host arnold in his own img so looks and everything, arnold searched and found sentience and banished the real ford in some way or another, so now the real ford is actually sending the host to the maze which is a test for consciousness, fords objective was to create life, but once he did that his unshackled ai (arnold) saw the opportunity to take over the park or/ is just fucked up cuz hes trying to comprehend the meaning of life and death...and it certainly explains how "ford" controls every host like a computer without any interaction, but as we can tell right now he is the only one who has actually seen (visually) arnold so, just a random theory though and its not all thought out

  • @MyFace62
    @MyFace62 8 лет назад

    The theory about Ford beeing a host created by Arnlod sure sounds interesting, it would be a deep rabbithole to go down tho since it would make things much more complicated and mixed up

    • @PetePeppers1
      @PetePeppers1  8 лет назад

      It's in the realm that nothing we thought we knew about what was going on was true. Which isn't a terrible idea but as you mention more complicated to pull off. Honestly I will be fine as long as it works which so far I have no reason to doubt.

      +Pete Peppers like you said, as long as the show doesnt drift out of bounds like lost did im good. im just hopeing its going to make some sens at the end of season one

    I totally agree with the last theory and i thought the same . Ford seems to need strong connections with memories as the others hosts do. i have no real others evidences but it's more a feeling that it would make perfect sense in the end. Ford would have kept a grudge against his maker and the others hosts because he could not stand and accept the truth.

    The photograph does look off-centered, as though there should be a third person there. The problem is the poses. Ford is slightly facing toward Arnold and Arnold is facing a lot toward Ford. This would suggest that it is supposed to be a simple two-shot photograph of Ford and Arnold. If you were to put another person in there, it might work out for a theory but the photo itself would look silly and contrived.

    • @PetePeppers1
      @PetePeppers1  8 лет назад +1

      Yeah, I've thought about that too. It would be as if Arnold was just sort of standing by himself besides those two.

    Why do we accept that Ford put the reverie code in? The reverie code has led to Dolores and Maeve becoming conscious and Ford has explicitly stated he doesn't want that. Could Arnold be the one who added them? And Ford doesn't want to admit someone else has access to add unapproved code into the hosts?

    • @PetePeppers1
      @PetePeppers1  8 лет назад

      It's possible because anything is possible. I am leaning towards Ford wanting the hosts to be conscious or something along that line, but the answer to why he would do that isn't clear.

    what if Bernard IS Arnold, and all the talk about Arnold "dying" was when Ford thought he deleted his profile and reformatted his body into Bernard?
