It seems to depend on the exact model (up until 1967 most of them were still metal inside) and also if the bobbin winder is still in good shape. A little spring in there can go bad and make it stop working, but this one is still in tip-top condition!

I have a singer stylist 533 and I need to purchase some new bobbins. I have the bobbin # from the manual but because it’s 40+ years old I can’t cross reference to a new bobbin #. I know it used the clear plastic bobbins like you mentioned in this video. My question is are there different styles. ie: flat or rounded shaped top and bottom pieces?

When checking bobbins, you want to make sure the overall diameter and space between the top and bottom match, but also the overall shape! Some are totally flat and some have a rounded, disk-like shape. I like to purchase bobbins either from a local repair shop or from Sewing Parts Online because you can choose your machine to make sure you are getting a part that fits.

Not sure the bobbin is a Class 15, looks shorter and more like the ones used on 301's and 221's/222's.

I am new to this . I have a Singer 111w151 to re-upholster my boat and sorta got hooked on Singers and bought 2 more lol... anyway I thought I was have a tension problem on the 111w151 as it kept bird nest the top thread around the bobbin. I just found out yesterday why it was happening. The bobbin clasp was rubbing against the bottom of the slide plate. Still haven't figured out how to remedy this problem unless the machine has the wrong bobbin case in it.. It sews great without the cover on. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

If you search "Singer 111w151" manual to find the list of parts booklet and download it, toward the back of the booklet there are really clear diagrams of all of the machine's parts. Take a look at the bobbin case (part 235100) and see if yours matches.

Yes I have a printed Parts manual and it is 235100.
I literally used 2 thin strips of plastic and layer them on the slots the cover plate slides in to raise the plate order to sew.
I just don't have any information on if there is an adjustment to lower the shaft the bobbin carriage rides on. All the current parts are stamped with Singer on them.
      Thanks for replying!
