As I've said in the Vanilla MvC3 video & for those wondering about the fate of the MvC series, despite popular belief, *Marvel didn't revoke the contract from Capcom.* Had that been the case, Capcom would have taken down every MvC game at the same time. Instead, their contract expired one by one since Capcom didn't renew said contract. Activision were the only ones to have their contract revoked, but even then Marvel & Activision talked things out to get Deadpool back on Steam & get the Deadpool game a Remastered release on the PS4 & Xbox One. Plus, when you consider that Marvel has been referencing the MvC games a lot lately in their cartoons & comics, as well as giving the MvC Universe its own official Earth classification (Earth-30847), it's clear that Marvel is open to the possibility of another MvC game. However, if Capcom were to renew anytime soon (given that they have the funds), it would lack any X-Men or Fantastic Four characters. So no Wolverine, Deadpool, Storm, Magneto, Sentinel, X-23, Phoenix, Doctor Doom, or Super-Skrull. This is because of a blood feud between Marvel Studios & 20th Century Fox. It isn't a matter of Marvel not being able to use those characters in games, it's that Marvel doesn't want to. Though in the wake of the failure of Fant4stic, the movie rights may revert to Marvel Studios in the near future. And +Maximilian Dood, Wolverine was removed from recent games, such as Disney Infinity & all mobile games released after Contest of Champions. The X-Men & F4 purge didn't really occur until after the MvC3 games came out. The Avengers & Guardians since took over.

The fact you can _scoop_ someone off the floor after a lengthly combo to resume it for 60-100% (and apparently cannot do a thing outside of someone dropping the combo) is both irritating and amusing somehow.

UMvC3 really is a very exhausting game. It's why even though I love playing it, I can't play more than an hour or two at a time. Especially after you get done with like, 3 or so pretty close and intense matches... It's tiring. lol

This game would spring back to life and get so much hype if it got an update. So disappointing it will never happen.
Doom's theme is god-tier. I swear I get hyped every time I hear it start up.
Watching Max play UMvC3 again after such a long time is like watching a borg invasion. At first, he gets beaten up, but then he learns, he adapts and he conquers.
Watching Max play UMVC3 is somewhat nostalgic. My old roommate and I would always watch his videos of this game when we were learning to play UMVC3. Fun times. And lots of salt. So much salt.

Ugh. People can argue that the other Marvel games are busted all day, but I enjoy watching every other one. Watching Marvel 3 is honestly just upsetting. I stopped watching the Evo finals after 5 minutes because of all the goddamn Doom and Strange loops. Is that what people really wanted to see? How the fuck is a game where every single team has a Doom, Morrigan or Vergil exciting? Why were the 100% total death combos never fixed? How did this game end up more busted than Marvel 2?

Not too much, but I did go back, and yeah, that game ain't perfect either. There was never fewer than 2 Storms and 2 Sentinels on screen, and that can be boring to watch for some people. But it's not really the same shit. 80% damage combos at least required 3+ meters. You were allowed to press the wrong button every once in a while. Also, the infinites in that game were much harder to do from what I can tell, and didn't even come into play with Storm and Sentinel as far as I could tell.
Well it's no difference between mvc 2 finals back in the day with sentinel magneto and storm and Maybe cable and it's still fun to play even if you don't like to watch

Seeing that team of yours sure brings back memories of you old videos. Dante the combo king, Doom the footdive king, and Strider the comeback king. It was cool to see Jill, Ghost Rider, and Hsien-Ko too. They even had some synergy! Variety is more than welcome in this game.

lol have vanilla mvc3 and i cant get the 1st lord one, 1st lord dont play the game and j barely get to find maybe 3-4 matches per hour, and people freaking rage quit so i cant never ever rank up.

He was at one point but then ultimate version gave him some nerfs combined withe the overall power creep of that game plus the fact that Vergil did basically the same thing just a bit better made wesker drop off the radar in this game

wesker became a fairer character....Vergril took his place because he has even more bullshit to just control the entire screen and the match plus longer range buttons and bullshit. If you thought wesker was OP vergil makes him look normal he didnt get nerfed either. He gets faster if you remove his sun glasses with a level one super and got some other good stuff.
That Rider-Ko duo. I first saw it when Mike Ross and Combofiend were dicking around online in the earlier days of UMVC3. It was an instant success.

I wish they should've added a slot mode where you can have 6 players with 6 controllers or the arcade joy stick buttons. It would be so fun playing this game with friends on one TV screen. I really wish they do this in the next MVC game.

No offense to anyone who enjoys this game still, tho entertaining to watch, I can't understand how low ranked players would enjoy playing this. From what I've always noticed is, whomever manages to start their combo first, most likely wins. Matches become so one sided in an instant. I haven't touched this game in years because of that.
Combos look cool. That's about it.

***** Yeah I know but what happens when a low ranked gets matched with a higher level player? Speaking on this game in particular because I've seen low ranks manage to win matches against the better player in games like Killer Instinct, MKX and SF4. It's like next to impossible to win if you get hard knocked down on here. Basically game over if you hit the ground.

You should use cr.M, Crystal, and Hysteric more often. Also, raw acid rains in neutral fullscreen are actually godlike vs some characters. Also, don't neglect devil trigger and air flight plinking with both Dante AND Doom.

Yes the trivia is Spain being offended by Magneto's alternate costume considering it looked like the king of spain. Most of us didn't even know what it was based off of and to be honest neither did I.. Until I looked just now why it was taken off LOL. I wonder what it is now, I've forgotten :)

Trivia: Magneto's alt was close to some actual world leader or something like that. I think it was to avoid having that actual person associated with a villain character...off the top of my head.

Trivia: hah! I actually know this one. It was magneto's dlc costume. don't remember what it was called but it was a royal attire and it was pulled becuase of legal claims that he resembled the real life prince from another country. (england possibly, i don't remember the specifics)
missing costume is general magnus. Because it looked like some prime minister or something, too bad too because that costume was badass.
The character was Magneto and the costume was reminiscent of the king/president of spain
Magneto - House of M. It was removed due to the costume looking similar to a dictator (of some country, I forgot) and it needed to be removed before any legal actions took place.
Azure Lords' team was amazing to see. Some days I start thinking that I miss this game. Then I remember that Ghost Rider (The entire reason I bought the game in the first place) is damn near useless and I go back to thinking about other things.
I honestly do hope that in MvC4 that you can use your super bar to break a combo. Seeing 1-hit combos doesn't seem that exciting to me in this game. Its fun to watch, but I am more of the MvC1 player than MvC3

I strictly main Gouki, Wolverine, Zero and purposely rid myself of X-factor at the beginning of every match I play. It isn't smart, especially in Ranked Matches but I enjoy fighting without need for the easy comeback mechanic. It's also great when I face others who choose to pop their X-factor after they see me get rid of mine. Doesn't happen often at all and I lose a lot thanks to how stubborn I am but when I do, I choose Dos Equis.

the reason i never had any interest in mvc3: every single match is decided by the first person to catch their opponent in an infinite. i can barely muster up hype for this game at EVO and other events, and even then it's not at all because of the game which has an incredibly small pool of viable characters, it's just me rooting for Justin Wong or whoever and then watching other simultaneous streams when (whoever i want to win) isn't playing.

even max goes out of his way to describe 3 as the worst in the collection, and that only 3 suffers from 1 hit deaths, in all other mvc games it is vastly more difficult to get a 1 hit kill, and even when you DO the matches don't take half an hour to finish out the 1 hit kill AAAAANDD he says that in 3 it takes a very low skill cap to 1 hit kill where as in all the others it is much more difficult requiring vastly higher player skill. it's not just me, and everyone else in the world who all agree with me except you, it's Max, and he would know more than you or I.

I actually went out the other day and bought my own copy of UMvC3 because of this video series.
I've played both versions of 3 before and didn't enjoy them as much then and I still don't as much now. Don't get me wrong, they're good games it's just that the Character Control is so much different from 2, I can't play Wolverine or Felicia here the way I do in 2 and My B.B.Hood is just gone altogether. Again they are good Games but I vastly prefer playing MvC 2 over 3.
