Nigerian food is amazing. I am fortunate to have met a beautiful Nigerian family, the mother/wife opened up a store to sell authentic Nigerian cuisine and clothing/accessories! She made so many different dishes for me and everything she made was DELICIOUS. Her husband is still in Nigeria so she gets stuff shipped to her store. I need to go see her asap

Pounded yam is much better than fufu IMO. Also, try ogbono soup, afang soup etc Try snacks like puffpuff, akara, chinchin etc. They’re sooo yummy!

If you ever get a chance you should try Liberian food. Our population may be small but the food is great. I shared my favorite Liberian dish (Check rice and gravy) with my nigerian friend and he loved it!! I would suggest for even less adventurous eaters to try it. Edit: some people call it chuck rice as well 👍

Yessss i’ve been waiting for you to try nigerian food! You pronounced effusive well and it looks pretty good. There’s always many variations on our food depending on the region/tribe (i’m igbo) but it’s the same food fundamentally. You should try other types of igbo foods (some popular ones are jolof rice, okra soup, & ogbono. There’s also different types of -for lack of a better word- grains to eat soups with along with different names. At home i mostly eat gari or pounded yam
