    This account of origin from Bini is so elaborate and robust that you can feel that this oral history has been passed down several generations unadulterated. The people of South- South and South- East Nigeria can form a strong bond that can leverage political relevance and power in Nigeria.

      @okekechidi3377 Год назад

      If names like Eze Chima and Ezike are truly ancient Benin names then more research has to be done on the Benin history. Benin may have been an IGBO kingdom before others took over. Else someone is telling a lie somewhere because Eze Eze Chima and Ezike have no meaning in Benin. According to all the present day descendants of Eze Chima in both Anioma and in Anambra (Umu Eze Chima clan Union), Eze Chima gave birth to all his Children in Benin and their names were Chimaevi, Chimedie, Oreze, Udogwu, akpali Ezechi, Oligbo, Daike, Ezi (daughter), Dei etc.. abeg what are these names in the ancient Benin language?
      we must get to the bottom of this. I'm happy to hear about this Ezike ancestor coming from Benin. To me it is another push for us to make more resesrch. and if we the IGBOS find out that we were once the rulers of Benin. That will be very interesting.

      @@okekechidi3377 Ezechiman is a corruption of Ezehimwneman which is a proper Benin word. And please note that the children of Eze chiman know that they are Benin decendants. If you check Igbo history without bias, you will see that Igbo Identity started in the mid 20th century. Before then the people you call Igbo today were not the same people and did not see themselves as one. That's why you don't have a pre colonial Igbo Kingdoms or Igbo Empire. Igbo can not trace themselves to one ancestry like the Binis, Hausas, Fulanies or Igalas because they all have different ancestries. Most people you call Igbos know their anscetry and they will proudly tell you if you have a one on one conversation with them.

      @@alphabet798 bravo!! You are a good fabricator. How do you justify the IGBO names of Ezechima's Children born to him in Benin? I'm sure Ezike was Ezikenmwenman yeah? nwa bini, go and read Olauda equianos book so you can understand how the IGBOS saw themselves before the 20th century. You obviously do not know much of anything. Many IGBOS have begun to dig deeper into the Benin history and we must find the true roots of Benin. Someone is definitely lying somewhere. Umueze Chima are not fools they know the names of their Forefathers and no fellow IGBO group influenced the name of their ancestors. We have very few descendants of Igalas in Onicha that settled with the descendants of Chima and the Igala names of their ancestors are still intact. We also have the Olukumis (very few in number) in Aniocha who fled slavery and settled among the IGBOS of Aniocha. The Yoruba names of their ancestors are also intact. These Yorubas settled with the IGBOS even before the advent of Eze chima. But according to Nwa bini, Ezechima is that rubbish you stated above!!! After una go dey say IGBO too get sense, when infact, everybody get sense but una no just dey use una own. Think.

    Enugwu ukwu. This isolation got back to the Oba who sent his soldiers to go and investigate. That was when he ran to Ida and was staying with the Attah. The Oba found out and sent a message to the Attah that he should release the boy or he will attack him. Attah then sent him to Enugu Ezike to hide and the people the Oba sent told the Oba that he was not in the palace
    Eventually Attah pacified the Oba and he forgave his son. That's why the greatest taboo in Enugu Ezike is sleeping with someone's wife

    Oba is not only an Edo or Bini word.
    For example the word for box in Igbo, Bini Edo, Edo, igala, Yoruba, etc is similar or close -
    Igbo apkati,
    Yoruba epoti,
    Bini & Edo ekpeti,
    Notice ti in all.
    This mean that these languages originated from the same area like neighbours. But it does not mean that one came out of the other.
    Everyone in southern Nigeria claiming that they cam from Bini to associate with position given by the British to the Oba for their own reason, which is indirect rule - the British nearly succeeded because this promotion of this policy has still followers who now claim that it was their history not knowing why and how? Some want to claim Bini too as they want to keep in their families from father to son the Eze or traditional ruler as done in oba of Bini.
    Enugu Ezike and nssuka is older than Bini as sites have been found there older than Bini by hundreds of years.
