It's completely balanced you see. Equal input to output ratio. You murder a village and breed 2 rats into 50, and then you can kill the wither, simple as that.

Honestly the rats munching on food instead of bringing it to you is the kind of life and personality pets NEED in this game. Cats and wolves have always felt like useless decoration, so having aesthetic things like that is just...beautiful
This is basically the thing.
I have wolves and cats.
The wolves sit in the corner doing nothing.
The cats sit wherever I want to scare creepers away from, including in my creeper farm.
Now the only thing I can think of is pairing this with the create mod to make a massive auto farm, conveyor the food into a Rat Pit, and using the love staff to summon an ungodly number of rats.

I know it’s been a year, but I LOVE this. The way this mod works is so fun. And not only that, the rats are extremely adorable, and don’t seem out of place!
i can imagine giving 100 rats strength potions, putting them in pouches, and ordering them to kill the ender dragon
The only problem with that is that even with elytrats, they won't be able to, as the dragon will knock them back before they can touch her hitbox

I would love to see Zombie Villages spawn zombie rats that are hostile, perhaps even a large and deadly "sewer rat" boss (if not a method to spawn one.)

@@doctor4t also, after about 3-4 hours of gameplay, I believe the ability to sneak-click on one rat, to make all of them sit at once, would be a nice quality of life change. Having to manually stop the rats one by one has been a pain.
Also, perhaps changes to interactions between a tamed rat and a tamed cat? If not, I suppose it's no big deal. We're here for the rats after all
@@jordanbwalt you make some valid points I experienced myself! Sitting / un-sitting all rats at a time is planned for soon, just not next update. I was thinking of something else to give the order to them, but shift right clicking on a rat is a good idea!
Tamed rats and tamed cats interactions I'm not sure I want to change, but I'm thinking of having cats chase rats back in a playful manner.
@@doctor4t the bad rats can have plague rats that would give you a special negative effects and spread among other rats and you would have to act quick and contain the plague so it wouldn't kill third of the population of Europe lmao
@@good-sofa If there are plague rats, maybe there could also be a plague doctor boss? How about when the boss is killed, he drops his plague mask which allows you to tame/control the plague rats when you wear it? Just a suggestion lol :)

Me and my friends got this mod a few months ago on a whim, and honestly it was the best mod we've ever put into a survival game. We paired it with a mod that would make random mobs be elite and have a bunch of different effects (invisibility, speed, strikes lightning at whatever it attacks, sets things on fire, etc etc and in combination with each other) and apparently it made the RATS SPAWN WITH THESE EFFECTS and it was total chaos. Rats that smite zombies, rats that get hit by another rat's AOE attacks and the decent into absolute rat war, getting caught in the crossfire of the rat war and now you're just meat in the blender. It was so glorious.
Do it again and record it!
You will get a ton of subs!

You should add a staff that makes them all sit, so that it isnt as annoying to make them stay still
The depth and quality of this mod is outstanding, my longing for rat army grows.
Now that I know the capabilities of rats, I will now need to brew a lot of strength 2 splash potions. Attacks that do atleast 6 damage which ignore invincibility frames. A splash potion can get all of the rats to have strength 2 at once, then put them in a rat pouch. Unleash it apon your enemies.
Sounds absolutely balanced to me. I don't see any reason to fix this.

Regarding Forge, like I always mention, I'll never personally work on a port for many reasons. However, not all hope is lost, as I got contacted by two people who wanted my permission to port to Forge. I said yes, so maybe there is a chance of a future Forge version seeing the light of day.

I never use Fabric and i get kinda upset when theres no version for Forge or when there's a cool mod but its only for Fabric as well.

The cascading hitsounds when you drop the ravager into the rat pit are hilarious to me
I didn't recognize the "Hat in Time" reference until the fan-art. This is actually really cool because of the sewer dlc that actually has rat people in it.
I saw this in my recommended. and this was way out from what I expected. by far the best animal/creature mod I've seen. rat kid made it better too, love that smug dance
I liked that, it could be a minecraft update if the "magic staffs" were removed, the damage of rats was reduced and what if only specific types of rats attacked cats, what caught my attention the most was their ability to pick up items, what makes them basically a fox but better, essentially they play the role of the mob that won this year's vote (Allay) but unlike Allay the rats make much more sense in the game. Another point is that since rats are likely to have low hp it makes sense for them to be more resistant to falling damage it would be interesting also if they had hostile behavior towards silverfish, plus it would be interesting if rats were not affected by the webs of spiders since they are very small. It would also be interesting if, like cave spiders, rats had a small chance of poisoning you or giving you the weak effect when attacking you since in the wild they are exposed to various diseases, to represent this they could drop rotten potatoes or other rotten foods, which would make them useful not only as pets but also as a source of potion ingredients as rats could also drop ingredients like sugar, eggs, flour, etc. Another point is that there could be a small chance of spawning a rat by breaking a bookcase as in the middle ages rats were well known for chewing books. Also with the addition of rats they could add something like alcohol derived from the fermentation of food, this alcohol could be ingested to treat effects such as weakness and would have a small chance of giving you the nausea effect, this alcohol could also be turned into a potion throwable that makes enemies nauseous, and if you add paper and gunpowder to the flask of resectable alcohol you could craft a throwable incendiary potion, essentially a molotov.
In fact, speaking of adding, this would be a great opportunity to add foods like cheese and other derivatives.
besides that it might be possible to craft armor for the rats, the leather armor would be made of Rabbit leather (finally giving this item a purpose) and the metal and gold armor could be made of nuggets. It could also add an achievement called "King of the Rats" when the player has tame more than 10 rats. In fact, as not everything about rats is possible, they could act as pests, poisoning animals to models and destroying crops, this justifies adding a hunting villager who would sell mousetraps, an item that would work by putting an item on it and the mob that was attracted by catching the item you would be trapped in the trap, the trap would do enough damage to kill rats but could end up catching other mobs like cows if you put wheat in the trap. this would be useful to catch rare mobs.

I enjoy the nice touch of rats not killing tamed cats, I found it out while playing the mod and I was pleasantly suprised! I saw rats chasing my cat and I was scared but I realized once I accidentally made it sit that the rats weren't hurting it, 10/10 mod

I really like the rats and all of their different uses. my favorite part was the name tag easter eggs. but I would suggest to add the jeb_ name tag, which makes them change color, just like with the sheep. other than that, the mod was fantastic!!

Bro I don’t do mods (mostly because I play on exclusively laptops but also because I would have no idea where to start) But THIS looks EPIC! Especially most animal mods I find to be pushing the aesthetic of Minecraft design but this is something else!
